ES File Explorer or Super Manager work fine too.

thank you!

I think root browser is the best looking and best functional free app for root browsing:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree
To get rid of the ads you may have a look at the developers thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338582

there are actually a handful of good ones(free ones). u should start with root browser lite. has a lot of options. but to name a few off the top of my head would include, script manager. andro zip root, there are also browsers in rom toolbox and other apps. depends i guess on what it is you want to do when you find what youre looking for. to be honest, the stock file manager on the razr or the "my files" app, is really not that bad

My choice : Ghost Commander
But, my favorite is ....
command line mode in Connectbot's text terminal

All these apps you lot talk about on the market that you have to pay for are free on Google.
I would like to post the link here of the paid version but someone would report me in a heartbeat.

I have Rom Tool Box Pro & like Root Browser, but my new favorite free app is X-Plore. It does everything root explorer does & has some nice customisations.

I agree with Solid explorer. It is awesome.
From my ICED down MAXX!

ES File Explorer for me.
it accesses my Box.net, SkyDrive, GoogleDrive, and DropBox right inside the app. moving/copying files couldn't be easier.

Solid Explorer +1

what features does SE has that ES doesn't?

What file explorer do you use and why?

Hi, I know this is kind of a weak topic to start but, I haven't been on Android in about 3 years and have really lost track of, and gotten out of the loop in what is going on here.... I still remember alot, and even had .apk's stashed away from having a rooted G1 running CM6 back in the day.... I want to know what file explorer/browser you are using and why... I am currently unemployed and don't really want to spend on a pair file browser but wouldn't mind paying $.99 so post your favorite even if it costs more and tell me why!!!
TIA
it dont matter right now
Just use stock until we get (if we get) bootloader unlocked and sbf. but i have root explorer downloaded it works great you can get into any file you want, but you need to be rooted. Even though right now if you have a x2 there is no reason for a good file explorer there is nothing special to do right now. i bought back in the day when i had a og droid it was very useful back then.
I use root explorer as well it helped me swap my sd card partitions with ease once we had the right file. I just find root explorer to be easier to use its not complicated at least to me.
For the browser I use dolphin hd its free in the market. It works fast has some pretty good features like addons support, slide your finger on the left side of.the screen and you will get your bookmarks. I enjoy using dolphin.hd better then the stock.browser

I use stock for now. Used to switch between Root Explorer and Astro on my Droid. Astro helped me view my sloppy, unorganized SD card with ease.
I always have root explorer for when i need it, but I use astro any other time. Mostly out of habit, a few ROMs I've gone through even came with it, but its also pretty feature rich. My buddy was always using ES, and if i remember right it had some nice features for those that root built in.
Astro works better than the stock file manager, but root explorer really is king in the field.
Always used Estrongs on the stock. ROM. But miui has a decent one pre-installes. It even has an FTP server and used space analyzer. Which is very awesome!

Anyone using Droid Explorer?
Over in the Touch Pro 2 forum, it was mentioned quite heavily and it appears to be working.
Or is this more of a tool for rooted devices?

I use File Expert. It is great for Root access and it also connects to my home pc over wifi for copying files.
Thanks for all the opinions folks... Really appreciate it... Went ahead and spent the money for root explorer as I plan to be on android for a longtime coming now....
I also picked up root explorer and it is definitely worth the money. Android should have had this all along.

Reason Is That It Allows To Edit Just About Every File.
Forgot Androzip If No Other Explorer To Install R.E.
ES file explorer has always been good to me. Its free and has root permissions.

+1 root explorer. Ive been using it for a long time and since they added thumbnails it has it all IMO

New file manager Solid explorer.

Wow, probably will be the best file manager when it finally gets out of beta. I use root explorer like everyone but its so ugly, my real only complaint about the app. Anyway I think eveyone should give this a try, its at least worth a look (imo)https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solid.explorer
it`s good but it crashed when I tried to access system -> app directory when I had copyed system app in clipboard without that I could access system -> app directory normally.
so it has some bugs but it`ll be great very soon I think. It looks amazing. The best looking app ever. I like very much the dark theme.
thanks!
i use es file explorer....it nice too
Very nice app, no issues for now.

Using it as I type. I admit that the interface in indeed impressive and so far, nothing that I can complain about. Still in beta though, but the first impression is great.

Best rar/zip handler I've seen and its free!

This is the best rar/zip handler that I've used on android. unrars/unzips anything you throw at it!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver&hl=en
Better then anything else I've tried including pro versions of other apps! Enjoy! Be sure to give the guy a 5 star rating if it works well for you!
I just use the built in one of ES File Explorer.

Which file explorer? for daily and ease use

Which is the lightest fast and practical file explorer for everyday use?
What do you need it for (built in file support, root access, etc)?
Try xplore, it has all one needs in a file manager.

This is pretty easy to answer: ES File Explorer.
It's free and fast and besides being a normal file manager it's task killer & cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.) and ftp client.
I've been using if for a couple of years with tons of different roms and mobiles and never had a problem.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en
just for copy paste files and extract zip files... simple ui like root explorer?
There are 2 file browsers I use on an everyday basis, firstly if you want a good UI experience, the ES File Explorer and the best thing about it is free! Second thing I use is the Root Explorer app and it is not free although it's worth a buy, if you are onto changing ROMs and other tweak stuffs then this baby is for you!

Root Explorer! This thing is a power house. Simple to use, very clean, and does exactly what you tell it to do

Wrong section -_- and as far as ur question is concerned use root explorer
Solid Explorer or FX Explorer.
Been using Root Explorer for a long time, and it's rock solid. Recently though, I've started using FX Explorer and it's the only one I use now. And next time you have a question, post it in the Q&A section.

ES Explorer or Antek Explorer.
The latter has a better (IMO) tablet layout.
