[Q] V6 supper charge script? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Does anyone know if V6 supper charge script works on SGP 5.0 int version. It boosts the performance on my nook color very well by managing the system memory. I've just got my SGP 5.0 and want to know if it works on SGP as well.

It should, yes. I've used it on my US 5.0

[Q] Overclocking to reduce webtop lag?

Some background: US Atrix on AT&T, Gingerbread, rooted, running the webtop mod (and thanks for that. Seriously.). Bootloader's still locked; this is my first smartphone & I really can't afford to bork the thing, so I'm inclined to stay with the stock rom.
I've got the HDMI mirroring thread bookmarked, and I understand that it's "not for the faint of heart" -- the conclusion seemed to be that working the code into a custom rom makes more sense than applying this patch to the stock rom. So I'm running the Netflix app over the webtop, and it's dropping frames left and right. (Interesting that it doesn't happen while playing movies through the built-in "media center", only over webtop. More resource-intensive, probably?)
So my first question: would overclocking reduce the lag to something more reasonable?
My second question: is this a stupid thing to do, as I'd be watching 2-hour movies at a time with the CPU boosted?
thanks guys.
Not a dev or anything but I am running darkside 4.2 rom with faux123 1.3 kernel. I use netflix full screen on my lapdock all the time and leave the kernel set at 1100 unless gaming, I think it has alot more to do with optimization of the kernel then the overclock.
I say go for it but do lots of reading and make sure to do backups often if your going to do any flashing. The phone has so much more potential than stock can offer. It is a ton smoother and alot better battery.
Sent from my awesome atrix thanks to all the devs here!
I'm running 2.3.6, webtop 2.3.6 modified using the latest faux kernel. It works with webtop at 1.45 just fine on my Atrix. Also, I've used setCPU to have a charging profile of 1.0 to 1.45 GHz, specifically for webtop. It seems to be working stable.
I actually ran Netflix in webtop full screen just to see and it is still a bit choppy (not smooth), but watchable. When made phone window normal size, it appeared to be smooth.
I'm using ubuntu webtop + 1.3g kernel, plus SetCPU profiles.
Works very fine.
Faux included a zram option in his kernel to improve web top performance. Take a loo at his thread for instructions

Galaxy tab 10.1 JB ROM

Hello.
i have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 WI-Fi 16GB (P7510) and would like to flash a JellyBean rom on it. However, i didn't find a stable one in which all basic features like the Cameras work. the problems with ics roms that i tried, is that the device runs games really slow and choppy, even when it's overclocked to 1.4 ghz. my Galaxy s 4g 959v plays them better and smoother. i would like to know if there is a stable and fast JB or ICS rom with all basic features intact, and overall fast gaming performance and compatibility.
Thanks.
I've tried Ganborou and it works fine. there's no jelly bean rom that has everything working, yet.
you can try this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765254
all is fine except front camera wich is not working.
This one works well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907771
Both cameras work, too. Only thing that doesn't work (YET!) is the microphone

Smoothest Rez Experience (Infection 2.9.1 + Lower Resolution)

Hi Everyone,
I've long been silent on the Rezound threads, but I just had to share this in case someone was looking for the same thing. (Couldn't put this in the infection or tachyon threads because I'm new, but please share this around if you'd like)
About a year ago I tried to figure out how to make the ROMs I used smoother by lowering the resolution, only to find out I couldn't do it. But just as I forgot about it, I stumbled upon a way.
I know I know, WHY on earth would you want to miss out on 320 dpi!? Honestly, I can barely tell the difference and it makes everything even smoother than TACHYON with ION. (Not that that's not great) Plus the camcorder always works.
It's not for everyone, but if you're like me, you just might love it.
So what you need to do:
1) Install Infection 2.9.1 (Doesn't work with Tachyon or JB 4.3 in general)
2) Download "Resolution Changer Lite" from the Play Store (but DO NOT use it yet)
3) Enable Pie ( Unfortunately the hardware buttons on HTC phones only work with the native resolution)
OR
Enable onscreen nav bar by editing/adding to the build.prop "qemu.hw.mainkeys" and change the value to 0
4) Edit the DPI of the system to account for the lower resolution
Edit the build.prop entry "ro.sf.lcd_density" to 273 (I personally like 250)
5) Make sure the build.prop values were overwritten and Reboot
6) Open "Resolution Changer Lite" (listed as "Display Scaler Free")
7) Click Phones -> 16:9 -> 576x1024 (Grant Superuser)
Give it a try!
For what it's worth, CM9 is also much smoother than the JB ROMs. I can confirm your trick doesn't work on CM10.2, but I do kinda like this lower density setting.
I skipped over CM9 because of the bluetooth audio issues, but that's good to know.
And yeah, it only works with CM10.1 or any JB4.2. I figured most people probably won't want to downgrade to try this, but I swear it's good enough to make me stop obsessing over lag and wanting a new phone, which was becoming a little unhealthy haha. Neo did a great job with infection. It's been rock solid and now more responsive than my friend's S4.

That's because cm9 is ICS and the firmware for our phones is ICS, if we had supported jellybeans we would have better performance but I find the 4.3 ROMs to have smoother gameplay and ui vs earlier jellybean roms.
I'm hoping android 4.4 kitkat brings something, its rumored that it will use less ram and maybe more phones will officially get 4.4, But just having it use less ram in unofficial ROMs will help. No information has been released about 4.4 though
If your on a 4.3 ROM my new favorite governors are both cores on interactive, seems to be the best for smooth ui ect...

UC Browser achieves similar results to Cache2SD

It's also similar to Browser2RAM. I just wanted to post this because the UC browser is extremely fast on the Prime and it works extremely well. I would even venture to say that it is faster than using the Browser2RAM and the Cache2SD mods, plus you don't lose your SD slot and it still works even if you remove the card.
I'm on the Android 4.3 based Paranoid Android and this feels like a completely different tablet compared to stock. Everything is fast and I think TRIM support has fixed the I/O bottleneck with this tablet. There is no more need for Data2SD or the other SD card mods IMO.

This is not dev related mate. This belongs in themes and apps.
I also disagree with your trim theory replacing data2sd even tho i don't use data2sd myself anymore.
...
Exactly! any browser just looks like a crap in conparison with UC!
But I noticed, that if I free 450+mb of ram on my 4.4 CM11, the tablet starts to work as it should, while multitasking makes it really slow, much slower than 100$ chinese smartphone

Looking for a stock style ROM heavily optomised for speed

Hi all,
I have an INTL 9300 (1gb ram) and it's SLOWLY KILLING ME.
I hate Cyanogenmod and I like Touchwiz, I like the skin, I like the dialler, I LOVE the scheduled SMS function in the SMS app, I like the contacts, I like most stuff. I just want a ROM which is memory optomised if that's possible? Does such a thing exist? Something which disables S-Voice and disables the camera watching your eye and all the other little things.
I've turned off what I can already but my phone is still quite painful.
Does anyone have a suggested ROM for this? I literally don't need any new features.
I've currently got JSS15J.I9300XXUGMK6 (ROOTED) but otherwise stock.
Is there anything which is up to date but somehow the free memory usage is as high as possible?
Thank you all for your time.
IMHO best touchwiz based rom out there is back-to-n00t KK 4.4.4

So low on memory usage then?

What you are asking is like asking for a female model that can run faster than hardcore male runners.
Touchwiz will always be sluggish.
I honestly dont know about that Back-to-noot because I hate the old Samsung Touchwiz, and therefore use roms like S5 Sensation,Blekota S5 Lite and Note 4 Lite.
From those 3,S5 Sensation felt the smoothest.
Any you can try using Seeder ------Seeder Youtube video
Try QS 4.4.2 rom, excellent battery, ram & smooth. Use with Agni kernel for easy tweaking. QS has combined hard & soft mod in a zip for latest release. If you want a slimmer version, try his clean ported NI2 version or use QS based Skywalker rom (300+mb only)

If Touchwiz is slightly slower than Cyanogen / stock google, that's fine by me. I'm more curious if some of the stock samsung apps which are bloatish can be disabled. I know several things can be turned off and un-installed manually by a new phone owner with root but I was curious if other optimisations were possible by ROM developers, dunno.
I think back-to-n00t KK 4.4.4 meant to be a base rom, if you try it you will understand what I mean
instead of back-to-n00t KK 4.4.4 you can use Blekota Note 4 Lite v3 :good: Blekota Note 4 Lite v3 uses back-to-n00t KK 4.4.4 as a base ROM and it's very stable! also it's AROMA so you can choose what to install so if you choose wisely you will get a solid, shiny operating system for your old fella :victory:
Try S5 Sensation
Back to n00t is fine, but you can give S5 Sensation a try as well. You have the Aroma installer, you can cut down the bloatware, S-Voice and other stuff, and just have what you want.
Its pretty stable, good battery life and OK performace, unless you're a heavy user. For daily use, its perfect.!
