Has anyone tested it and the quality, curious about things like Skype, or voice apps etc?
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
As far as I heard Skype won't recognize the mic yet.
I have tested...
I have used it with b&n childrens books.
I have used it also with voice notes in jorte works good.
I have made samples just using the recorder app and works good.
I have made voice notes in Note Everything Pro. and it works good.
I have not done any comparisons to other recording apps.

I downloaded it on my Android phone, backed it up, and then uploaded it to dropbox, and finally downloaded and installed it from dropbox on my Nook Tablet.

Looking for an App that will let me send texts from my touchpad to my phone,
I have seen a few but i really want to hear what other people are using to get it done. or if this is just something i like the idea of
I have a google voice account but i hate that it doesn't use my real phone number, also before you talk about the integration, its UI is horrible so i would rather not use it.

I think he just wants to be able to use his tablet to send texts via his phone. Meaning, he can come home and plug his phone in and use his tablet to send/receive texts from his phone. I am interested in the same thing actually. I don't wanna tote my phone around with me, if I'm chilling downstairs and using my tablet.

if you havent done so on sprint. get on Google voice.(its free for sprint) u can use the official Google voice apps on your tablet to send text thru wifi, also received them.
i tried a bunch of apps on my touchpad but never found one that works as good as google voice. my touchpad and phone are both set up with google voice and it's integrated with my sprint phone number so no weird number to deal with. works great for me. only thing is once you integrate, no more going back to vvm unless you call sprint to get it set back up.

If google would spend about 20 minutes working on google voices UI I would probably use it.
I will look into airdroid, tablet text also has a decent amount of good reviews so I have been looking into that as well

Just an fyi: If you want the push notifications, you have to press the version number like 10 times or something (I didnt count I just hammered it until the option became available lol)
TexTab without question. I love it, and the UI is nice and simple (uses BlueTooth). It uses your messaging app in that it uses your phone's signal and leaves the text message in the history of the conversation on your phone.

I'm having several issues with FB, the biggest being after I look at "X" pictures (My man Club?) no pictures will open. I have to reboot the phone and it works for a minute, then same thing? It seems to me, each time a i open a photo/movie and I backout, it stays in memory until FB is usless?
Lastly, and not that I really give a crap, some of my ex-wife post I get, others I dont. The Only reason I mention, she will post pictures of Granddaughter. Friends of mine get them and call and tell me how cute she is. I dont get them. The she will post something else, I get it, so she did not defriend me? makes no sense!
I have version 1.9.6
Anyclue?
Anyone? 100 views and no replys, any thoughs would be appricated.
Don't know about the pictures and videos, but I know you can block specific people or groups from any post you make, so your ex could be choosing to block you on certain posts.

Not to be smart, trust me, she has no clue how. Matter fact, no one in that family nor mine (except me) could do that. Oh well............
More worried about my phone freezing after I open "X" amount of photos. I cleaned up text messages, e-mails, mobile photos today (Photos are on FB anyway). Maybe Photon will run better?
Use friendcaster. Much better than official fb app anyway.
Well, mystery #1 solved (I think), she (they) are not smart enough to defriend me and she swore off FB. But since my daughter loves it and so do her religious friends, they created secret goup just for them. Click on THAT group and post, only they see it. I guess now and then, she slips and just post on her main wall. If I go to her profile, I see ALL the post! That makes sense.
With the freezing, clueless. Since Feb 18th, 2012, I have not installed or updated one single app!

Friendcaster is nice; there's also Fast and Scope (Scope is invite only; install the app and then use invite code "theverge" to create an account) but none of the third-party Facebook apps can see your entire feed. There will always be some things that will not show up in third-party clients.
A more elegant solution I have found is to use Facebook on your mobile browser. It takes some tweaking to get the desktop site to display, but it can be done. Make sure you're accessing www.facebook.com and not just facebook.com; also setting the user agent to desktop can help as well.
Also, you can get the customizable Maxthon (google it, it lets you customize the name, icon, homepage, and other settings). Name it Facebook, give it a Facebook icon and splash screen, and set the homepage to Facebook, bam, you got a Facebook browser. The browser itself is very capable, and has the user agent feature if you want to use it for the desktop version.
It just helps to have options. The Facebook app has always been sub-par.
I use SEESMIC. It works surprisingly well. Works with twitter too, but I use tweetcaster for that.

When my phone starts messing up, it's the first app I delete. Works everytime! and the funny thing, I don't have the other apps you mention here and my auto-update is off for everything. FB just crashes the phone for no reason out of the blue. Always has!

I'm stock, but it seems not to matter as I was unlocked and running CM7. Sadly, the only people I know NOT having issues are the 4 iPhone users I know. If I were adding apps and/or doing auto updates, I would maybe understand. I'm not.
Facebook I'd a billion dollar company, producing crap apps. The problem I have with there app is that every update will make or break the functionality. On a side note, the reason handloom works so well on, iOS, is because they have a whooping 10+/- devices to support, versus the hundreds of android devices on various os software. Ie: eclair, froyo, gingerbread, ics, honeycomb, etc. So I can't hate the facebook android devs completely just hate the issues that come with updates!

I've been using Go Sms Pro since it first ce to Android. It was hands-down the best sms replacement in my opinion. The last two updates however have changed my opinion about it. They started pushing Ads like those annoying scam apps. The last one in particular made me uninstall it. It now places Ads on the bottom of the screen. I'm done with them.
Is there any app besides Handcent, Chomp, Texter that is a good pop up sms replacement. There are many apps on the market aand I've personally come across some awesome apps that wasn't on the top of the list of best apps. So is anyone has some suggestions on apps they use or come across, I'd appreciate it.

you can simply use ad blocker
it is not in play store as it is blocked by google https://adblockplus.org/en/android-install

First, let me say love this phone.
I received an MMS, which i could tell was a group text sent to multiple people. I could read the text and see who sent it, but I was unable to see any other recipients who it was sent to. On my Nexus 4's stock messaging app, it would show the other numbers that the message was sent to. Is there anyway to enable this? Not sure if it matters, but I know it was sent from an iPhone, and was sent to myself and another iphone.
Edit- Also confirmed that my response was only sent to the original sender.
Thanks!
I don't own the G2 yet, but a great text app alternative on the Play Store is called 'Textra', and it looks just like stock Android, very system light, and super fast. It allows group messaging, and works perfectly, I always text my two brothers, one is on an iPhone, the other a Nexus, and we can keep a conversation going in one thread.

Just installed Textra and tested it. Sent a group text same from iphone to my g2 and another iphone. I received the group text in normal fashion w/ both people, however my reply was sent as a new message to the original sender and not in the original group text thread. Any idea how to fix that?
Edit - NVM, I found the MMS settings in the app, had to enable MMS for group texts and it seems to work now.
