App shortcut from Launcher disappear after reboot. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I moved those apps to my SD Card.
And when I reboot it, the shortcuts disappear.
Is there a way to not make them disappear? (Please don't suggest moving them back to phone memory.)
I have Xperia Active.

Any help?

What launcher are you using?did you root your phone?

Stock Timescape Launcher.
And, yes. I'm rooted.

Use another great launcher.

What ROM are you running at the moment or SE firmware?
That can determine if you can get the app drawer back or not?
And, how did you delete it?
Andriod 2.2.1
andriod 2.2.1 cyanogenmod 6.1.1
Or simply reflash or backup apsa on astro and restore.

What launcher are you using bro?
Can you try long press on the dock menu? I think you see there open all apps drawer or something.

I've done this plenty of times, im using adw Launcher so this could be different for other launchers
Long press on your home screen, Launcher actions, then select open/close App Drawer.

Easiest way would be to install a different launcher.
I believe you can also add a shortcut of the app drawer.

My Apps in SD card not loading picture

I had to restart my phone and when it came back on, some of my application on any of the home screens were still there and worked when I engaged them, but the picture or the icon never refreshed. I don't have the fast boot checked, I like my phone to restart completely, if I remove the app then put back on home screen, the picture returns. What can I do?

There's another thread with the answer.
Short answer is: Sense has started up before the SD card is mounted. Hence, the icons for your apps on the SD were NOT available at the time. This is why some apps are phone only and you never put widgets on the SD.
You can do one of the following:
Move those particular apps back off the SD to the phone.
Restart sense with some app in the market.
Change your scene and change it back.
Work Around
Install Fast Reboot (Free from Market)
Run Fast Reboot
Icons will reappear.
I found the answer in another thread.

That's the market app. Couldn't remember and didn't want to go digging for the other thread.
Fast reboot comes with the phone in the power settings, icons came back when I force closed sense

NOT that fast reboot. hahaha. The fastreboot app in the market closes sense and such for you. it's not the Fast reboot built into the phone.

What ROM? Are you using the SD flip flop? Which Launcher? This sort of thing has seemed to happen to me before, because almost all of my apps are on the sd card. The launcher/app drawer app loads before the stuff on the sd card, and it looks like apps are gone, but still show under menu->applications. Restart your launcher, see if that helps

Running eclipse v.06, with ADW launcher. And unless the SD flip is built into the ROM, I haven't flashed that modification

It is. I have an app or two disappear every now and then, but it's just GO Launcher being finicky. It's still there, I just need to restart the launcher and it shows up.

Is there any way to remove the persistent Google search bar?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
you can either go to system settings>applications and disable google search, or go to the themes and applications section of the forum and pick up Trebuchet Launcher which has the option to remove the bar and even more good stuff
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
thanks for ur reply.... i tried to install trebuchet but it doesnt give me launcher settings when i hit the menu key on the home screen. any further assitance would be appreciated. thanks
in trebuchet settings you can uncheck "enable persistent searchbar"
first you have to make trebuchet your default launcher
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I downloaded it and flashed it via CWM but dont have any launcher settings
How do i make it my default launcher?
go to settings>applications and under all applications you should see both launchers. Disable the stock launcher defaults. Then when you go to use your phone the system will prompt you to pick which launcher to use/ make default
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Thanks for all ur help and all. But when I go to all applications I don't see both launchers. I installed trebuchet thru CWM. It says it installed successfully. Any more help would be appreciated

Usually after i install launcher, when I press home button it ask for default launcher.
But try going to all applications again and clearing defaults for your current Launcher.

Missing Icons on home screen

Just thought I'd share a bit of personal experience.
Those of you who have root access in there devices may have noticed icons missing on there home screens. If you are wondering why this is due to using Titanium Backup to move apps to the SD card. This only happens with certain apps, usually only the ones that can't be moved from the devices settings. To fix this simply move said apps back to internal storage and all will be well.

Other "move 2 sd" apk
Not just Titanium,i use Link2SD and it's the same,or force apk not 2 work,or widgets,just restore apk 2 phone.
BTW some task killers 2 can force widgets not to work 2.
I haven't had much experience with other apps like Titanium cos I'm very new to smartphones and my Arc is the first REAL smartphone I've had. Thanks for your info. I really have so much to learn.

lost icons found
The homescreen loads before your SD card. To get your icons back;
go to SETTINGS...select ALL
select the launcher (in my case SENSE) and force close.
The launcher will restart and all your lost icons should reload properly.
i am having this trouble too
haha didnt knew what to do thnx guys.
