I forced 8107 onto my T-Mobile Lumia 710, and the light sensor doesn't seem to be working (screen doesn't brighten in direct sunlight), so I wanted to restore to my old point. The problem was, the only restore point I had was on my work machine. So I remoted in, downloaded DropBox to my work machine, made a zip of the backup from my work machine, and uploaded the zip to my DropBox account. When I moved the backup zip to my user/AppData/Microsoft/Local/... on my laptop Zune didn't recognize it as a backup and kept deleting it.
So I figured I would just wait and come to work to restore my backup and now my backup from WORK is deleted as well. I still have the file on my laptop at home, so at least I still have it.
My question is, is there a way I can use my restore point, or is there a flashable 7740 Stock ROM for the T-Mobile Lumia 710 I can use?

Stock roms can be optained through Nokia Data Package Manager/Navifirm, to get the ROM for your specific device lookup your product code (found on the back side of the sim card holder in your phone) in those tools. Flashing can then be done with Nokia Care Suite. Search this forum for instructions, not that hard to find.
I would do this if I could, but Nokia Care Suite will not install on 64 bit machines, and will not install on my wife's 32-bit XP laptop either. If I could do this I would've debranded this phone for Zune to recognize my phone to push the true updates to it.

Is there anyway to backup directly to my computer? If not, how can i find the correct operator code (cellcom in Israel) so I do not have anyproblems putting the new ROM on my phone?

Hi
I had rooted my LG Optimus one and had deleted some applications with Titanium backup.
Now when i attach my phone to any computer it is not getting detected. i tried resetting the phone to factor default, reloaded drivers and LG pc suite . tried almost everything possible.
It is not even going into usb mass storage mode. The device manager on PC too does not detect any usb conection happening. Everything else on the phone is working fine.
Is that any usb related module on the phone got accidently deleted ?
Whats the possible solution now ?
Have you checked the USB-MASS STORAGE option in SETTINGS-> SDCARD & PHONE STORAGE SETTINGS ?
yes
yes i have done everything . selected mass usb storage too..
the problem is that no PC even detects a USB connection happening when i attach the phone
This happened to me twice now... I just sent it in to the LG service center. The tech guy said he did a "software update" which I took to mean reflashing the original ROM all over again.
I recommend doing a KDZ update if possible then install custom recovery and do a nandroid backup so you will always have a failsafe.
Dont take my word for it yet though... Hopefully someone else can enlighten us. I now use the void custom ROM so that there will be no unnecessary apps on my phone ^_^
Dear all, can any body tell me how much space is required on sd for nandroid backup?
I have limited space on stock sd card.

IIRC, around <500 MB. Each backup you make wont overwrite the last one so watch how many you make. But this is actually a good thing. And each backup type you make (nand, nand + android secure, etc.) also makes its own folder.
Backup and try to restore first to see if it works (backing up the nand+anything else didnt work for me).
Thanks a lot. I believe I'll have to delete some files on sd. And after that I can make a nandroid backup. I also feel we can copy the backup to pc and can use it later if need arises?

I believe so as long as it is in the correct folder where you found it.
What I feared for my phone before was that I cannot do a KDZ update because the PC wouldnt see my phone and I did not have custom recovery installed (nor a backup obviously...). Thats why I sent it to the service center...
When I got it back, I didnt abuse my phone as much (used it for call and text only) until I was finally able to install custom recovery ^_^
Important update
Hi guys
I had gone to the LG service station. Got my phone re-flashed with the latest firmware V10C . But the PC still can't detect the phone .
Now LG is giving me a new handset in exchange. They say its some problem with the hardware.
I am currently on stock 2.2 , I have cwm recovery, and when I try to update, after the Ron 2.3 rom is downloaded, the phone turns off to patch with recovery mode. The thing is, since I have cwm recovery. The phone just sits there, on it's clockwork mod recovery main menu. I need help to get pass this, maybe how to get back to stock recovery, or can anyone upload the stock official 2.3 rom so I can flash from cwm? Thank u for reading this.
Should be able to find what you need here.
Help.
Ummm. I know about this, but the thing is, I dot want to lose all my apps I have in the phone. I there a way to back up apps and contacts so I can have the same apps/contacts/emails?
Your contacts should be backed up with your google account so I wouldn't worry about that. For your apps, use titanium backup. Emails? The emails aren't actually on the device so you won't be losing anything, when you set up your account(s) again they will be there.
a bit more help again.
I have backed up all my apps with titanium. To recover my apps after flashing, do i have to download titanium backup again and hit recover? Also, I have a macbook. I have a vmware installed, I have all drivers installed for vmware, and whenever I plug in my phone to my computer, and hit, "connect to windows" in Vmware, nothing will ever pop up. I'm thinking that maybe windows isnt succefully responding with the mac. Is there a certain easy use program like Odin that can work on the Mac? if not, I will just get my laptop monitor fixed, or just put all the files into a flash drive, bring it to my office, and do it from there.
Thank you!

I was actually just talking about this in another thread but, to answer your question, I honestly been successful in getting my macbook to recognize the fascinate in download mode although I can mount the SD card and transfer files fine (and even ADB, on gingerbread at least). I was trying to use heimdall as opposed to running a odin in a VM though. I did a little poking around and it seems like a common issue with the galaxy S phones and macs. Never ended up finding a surefire way to make it work so I just use a windows machine when I need to bust out odin. Sorry I can't offer a solution, but if you have access to a windows machine it'll be much less of a headache.
Oh, and I haven't used titanium in a while, but yeah you just restore the backed up apps after flashing a rom. I believe the free version is limited in some ways and you can't do batch operations. Although I would try to start fairly fresh after the update, only restoring the apps with data that you can't afford to lose. Sometimes restoring data on system apps will cause issues, although if you're just going from stock 2.2 to 2.3 then you'll probably be ok restoring most things.
Thanks
Thank You!
I have succefully flashed it from a windows machine.
I am restoring all the apps right now.
Thanks for responding !
No problem! Hopefully you won't need odin enough to where it's too inconvenient to use a windows machine.
Oh and thank you for using the "thanks" button too! I don't really like when people tell others to hit their thanks button since IMO it's kinda incongruent with the whole point of voluntarily 'thanking' someone. But thank you, I appreciate it!
I need a bit of help. I update my Xperia Go to ICS after backing it up on Sony's PC Companion. After successfully updating, I tried restoring my stuff, almost everything was there except the sms messages, I can live with the missing apps. But the messages are very important (been moving them since 2009) and in hindsight I know I should have used an app to archive them for restoration later but it slipped my mind.
I've tried several times to restore, backup then restore and still the messages are just not getting into the phone. I opened the backups and saw there is a difference with the way the data for the messages are formatted. GB had them in individual files, ICS seems to be on a single file so transporting the contents of the old conversations to the new one did not do anything.
I was thinking of downgrading the phone to try and restore the sms and then use an app then update and transfer but
1. I couldn't find a gingerbread firmware to return to
2. Flashtool would not work, saying that it could not find the driver (am thinking the Go on ICS needs a different driver) and this was the same one I used to flash it in the first place.
Is there an easier way to move the sms files from the old pc companion backup to phone? or a gingerbread firmware i can go back to/download? and a working flashboot driver too.
Since there isnt a dedicated forum for the Go, I had to post here, sorry if this was a mistake but thank you for any help I can get.

You can download GB firmware here
For drivers, you go to drivers folder inside Flashtool and install it.
Can you please upload FTF file of ICS firmware of Go? I need it badly
Edit: this is a guide how to make FTF file http://mytechencounters.wordpress.c...eate-an-ftf-file-of-your-xperia-ics-firmware/

Thanks, I got the file.
You can download here http://www.4shared.com/file/NDe4G08P/ST27i_611B110_CE.html
It gave the same error about not having the right driver blah blah twice. Then in my pissed off state, I kinda accidentally got it into fast boot i think (blue purple light, up volume) then took it off then put it back on back to try to flash the GB rom, it did!
After checking if the flash was alright, I tried restoring the sms only and it worked. there really is a problem with this that sony has to acknowledge between migrating from GB to ICS...
Time to install that sms app. Thank you
Hi. Recently I stuffed my ZTE Blade A452 with MIUI ROM found on here: hxxp://forum.android.com.pl/topic/319435-a452miui-v8-miui-global-8020. I also installed TWRP . I've been using it for a while and unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. It is barely usable, phone crashes a few times a day, apps aren't kept in background.
I decided to come back to my stock ROM. I don't have, however, any back up of it. There are some sdcard packages on ZTE's support page, however when I tried to install it with TWRP, it displays that packages (all of them) are for device id P635F33, while my device is P635E40. And I found nothing for my dev id.
Is there a way to force installing one of those packages in my phone? Editing version.txt inside update.zip did nothing.
Maybe one of you guys have a matching package?
Also my sister's got the same model, Blade A452, bought at the same service provider. Maybe there is a way to extract a ROM from her phone and put it into mine? (Her device must be left quite untouched).

You Have a Same Phone Available .That is Great. You can give her Sleep Drug Sneak Into Her Room.Get the Phone From Under The pillow. And Now You can Unlock The bootloader flash TWRP Make a Backup and Then Flash Stock Recovery. Then Put The Phone Back Under The Pillow. The Process Will only Take about 30Mins.
5Min to unlock Bootloader
2.5Min to flash TWRP.
2.5Min to install stock Recovery
And 20 min to move the back Up
Or
You can Slice her Throat and Get the phone.Seriously Save 30Min of time.
Or
You can Backup Using a Desktop Application and Restore on your Phone.

Yeah, TWRP on her phone isn't an option, as the whole system is quite buggy and she's gonna probably use the restore option. I'm gonna try with some desktop apps and give an answer in 1-2 hours. Thank you.
Sorry it took so long to answer.
I couldn't make a nandroid backup any desktop app (MTK Droid Tools can't create scatter file, couldn't find any other app).
As I said, TWRP was not an option. But I managed to do the nandroid backup from phone-level anyways.
First I rooted the source device with KingRoot, installed on it BusyBox and made a custom TWRP-style backup on SDcard with Online Nandroid Backup *ROOT. Default settings are fine, even though it couldn't recognize my phone model.
Then I moved SD into target device and performed a backup with TWRP (just to create my device directory). Then I moved the source-phone backup into the new-created directory and performed Restore.
And Voila! On my phone there was a 1:1 copy of the system. It wiped out TWRP so I could perform a system Restore and get a factory-new soft.
Thank You. I didn't even realize it was possible to restore A-Backup on B-Device. Even though my sister's phone was a P635F33 (I didn't know it earlier) and mine was P635E40, it worked well.
