Has anyone figured out a way to get quick reply or quick compose functionality with Google Voice? SMS Popup has this feature, but doesn't support GV SMS...
Or, is there a way to reply directly from the Android notification tray?
I have been endlessly searching for a solution, and I realized that you guys might know how to achieve this.
Thanks.
Anyone know a way to do this?
Maybe using an app like GO SMS?
Is it possible to do this at all?
When I emailed ChompSms they said it was on their to do list but no ETA.

I dont see that coming. As was mentioned before GO SMS has that if you were using it for your primary number. I personally don't see any dev jumping on that for GV anytime soon since I see more people using GV as their "tiger woods" number these days lol. I was happy finally after the bugs were fixed and there actually was an indication in the notification shelf that I had a GV text.
I feel like there's gotta be a way to do this with Tasker - I'm still searching around, but if anyone has any ideas...

Yeah, I was hoping for something like this that would allow GV functionality....
Would this help?

Not really, but man, is that thread a gold mine
The good news is, I got a tasker popup working for sms.. but I'm sure there's a much better way to do it. I'll post here as soon as I figure out.

That's good news. Does the popup include quick reply functionality?
If so, is the quick reply functionality available in the lockscreen?
Nah, no quick reply, and honestly, would have no idea how to do that. This basically pulls the text from the notification bar and displays it in a pop up- kinda ghetto style
But maybe there's a way to make it so, when u click on the popup, it jumps to the message in the app... I'll try that.
If someone made an app to do this using purely google voice and not traditional sms, I would pay at least $5 without a second thought. When I had an iphone, there was a jailbroken app that would let me hold a volume button and then show a quick compose pop up for regular sms.

Yeah, a GV app with quick reply would be really awesome.
I have seen the iPhone app you're referring to, and that's pretty much exactly what I think would be perfect...
just a little 3 months later bump (!) .. can't believe this is still an issue
I'll give it a bump too - would love GV popups.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A

Maybe this thread will help you. Make sure to use an actual computer to change your settings. You can change your text and voicemail settings there. (unlink)

Hey everybody, I've been using thrutu to enhance my in call experience. I really like it allot. I already have most of my contacts using it also. For those of you who haven't heard of thrutu, here is a brief description: Thrutu allows you to share information, send pictures, share/request location, and more all while in a call. The reason for this post is that I am a beta tester for thrutu and this morning I received an email from them with a code that will unlock all the beta features. If you don't have thrutu, I would get it. If you do have thrutu and want to check out the new features, first update thrutu through the market. Next, go into settings and find the "development" options. Next, enter exactly this: I love thrutu" letters are not case sensitive. Next, enjoy all of the new features! Hope this helped somebody out there. Feel free to hit my thanks button if ya want, or not ...have fun!

Can I set individual notifications for specific users (specifically text messages)?
There's an option for ringtones specified to one user, but I don't see any way to do it for texts.
Thanks ahead of time. Google hasn't provided a solution yet.
Try Handcent. There's a multitude of settings it offers. Nothing on stock apk that I'm aware of.

is it possible to have an app/modified lock screen with two passwords that unlocks it:
one that unlocks the phone normally and another that hides some applications, sms, calls, and maybe starts a blacklist?
Thank you!
