NaviFirm Shows that the Firmware is available for the following devices:
Code:
059K5R5: NDT CT MATT BLACK
059L6W3: NDT CT MATT CYAN
I did not try to flash it on my "normal" Lumia, mainly because LinkedInt, Twitter and Facebook are disabled (see OEM/NOKIA_RM802_CNTCN_SocialNetwork). I guess it is possible to reenable the Networks via an Registry Editor and a simple provxml. This phone includes however Internet Sharing as promised months ago. It seems also to include a "flip to silence".
A few new wallpapers are also included (maybe carrier specific).
I hope that we see this Firmware for our devices in the near future

As we cannot edit the rom files because that breaks the signature I think re-enabling the mentioned social networks is impossible for now. Better to wait for a non-china version before flashing. I guess that will not take that long. Thanks for reporting!
indeed, cant w8 for this feature!
Btw, as Nokia likes to match their firmware version numbering with the actual OS firmware version, version 1750.800.8773.12120 might suggest these chinese roms also has the tango update of the OS on board.
This may indicate that the release of this firmware through Zune will be shortly after Microsoft has released Tango through Zune.

Hi, so I recently updated via the send cab program, the 2250.21.51101.401 update from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429339
However because it is .401 it is generic HTC Europe.
Is there an equivalent Orange UK one, or know what the latest Orange UK one is?
The .061 release.
Coz I am missing the Orange Apps from the marketplace. and would like to have them back. Thanks!
The latest I could fine is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1281195
2250.21.40600.061
Would prefer something that has Internet Sharing enabled

Hi jamieostrich
Unfortunately Orange UK have blocked Internet Sharing so you won't be able to get that on stock Orange UK firmware.
The latest Orange UK firmware that I have seen downloadable is this one: http://www.filefactory.com/file/c09..._1.30.061.01_5.54.09.21_22.33b.50_RELEASE.exe
There are two options to get this functionality. Firstly, developer unlock your device and then interop unlock it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963).
Then install this software: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271264 I had a little trouble with the driver because the Hardware ID for the Orange UK branded Mozart is different to the normal HTC branded software. The work around is to examine the Hardware ID in Device Manager and then manually edit the driver .ini file accordingly. There are guides linked in the app thread.
The second option for you is to debrand your device which you can do as per here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002391 However, by doing that you will not get the Orange marketplace and Orange Maps, which is the deal breaker for me.
Cheers

Hiya, sorry but I dont know where you get the idea that you cannot get the Orange Apps. I have ran both the unbranded Rom and i am currently using a custom rom and all i need to do is downlaod the apps manually. i.e. Orange maps and orange wednesday. Just search for one of them then in the description look for the part that says more from orange and click that, That will then take you to all that orange do. even the ones they did give away free. However I have noticed that I can no longer get all of the free stuff they had on offer any more. but not sure if thats because they have removed them or not. But I haven't used a stock rom for months. Hope this helps.
Hi everyone,
Just got a Nokia Lumia 800 and I am not able to find the Nokia collection tab in the Marketplace.
I already have the Nokia drive (1.0) app installed, but can't seem to update it either. The marketplace finds the update, but says this app is not available on your phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try to create new LIVE account and set it to your country. You should see the Nokia collection.
Or you can allways refurbish your phone to another firmrware and see if that changes anything. You can find tutorial here for example:

Might be a silly question..but still,
Will this reset my OS to the version that is bundled with the firmware?
You will choose what firmware version you want to flash.
You can downgrade, upgrade (if newer firmware is available) or just reflash the same version. Look at the tutorial, you will understand it.
You will loose all the data in phone, so backup what you need first.
I was talking about the Mango OS. Does the firmware package include the OS updates as well?
Sorry, my bad.
Phone's firmware do not include OS updates. Changing firmware won't change OS version in your phone.
Hey peeps,
I flashed a firmware with a different product code to my Lumia 920, and everything works fine. It came with CV-HK but I flashed CV_AU (Australian unbranded).
Just wondering if I will receive OTA updates since the firmware uses a different product code?
I am worried that when Nokia stops allowing users to access NCS, that I will be forever stuck on the current build of the Aussie firmware and wont receive updates (if a future update process checks the product code and blocks the install).
Should I leave it, or should I flash the CV-HK back to the phone just incase?
So I guess that no one has any idea? I've asked everywhere and haven't been able to find an answer.
i think the product code is stored in permanent memory, so likely what will happen is that it will check for OTAs/updates based on your actual product code, basically if you update it will likely just reflash the branded software

I cant imagine an OTA update being 1.2 to 1.4GB. That is what it would take to re-flash a different firmware over the existing one.
I thought that it would notice an incorrect Product Code and not update, or hopefully it would just detect the ROM your using and flash the updated version of that.
Wish someone from Nokia/Microsoft could clarify. Time to hit twitter.

Would also like to know. Can't find a South Africa Portico update so want to update to a EU variant atm but don't want to lose the South Africa Portico OTA when it is released.
New firmware available on Navifirm for Lumia 800 (RM-801). Anyone flashed it yet? Noticed any changes.
I downloaded the CV Greece MBlack version and flashed it, but cant seem to find any difference from the 8858 version.
8862 fixes live tiles bug and probably your volume will be decreased, i mean - you can still make 30/30 but it's quieter than before.
Have you found any other improvement?
Thx!

It was the OS update 8862 which fixed the live tiles. This is an update for the Nokia firmware.
I can confirm that the new firmware *does* include the volume limiter. So avoid this -- instead use SevenEighter to upgrade to 7.8.

oh, i see now.
VF UK updates to 8862 from a flashed 8858
FWIW, I hacked/flashed my 800 to a de-branded 8858, and a few weeks back VF UK auto-offered the update to 8862.
Good service I thought.

Hello good people!
I've been wondering, does Xiaomi implement regional divisions for their devices as Samsung does?
My friend and I spotted a small difference of one of the pre-loaded apps in the Mi A3 between mine and his. I got the nbu.files Files app and he got the documentsui Files app. I'm in Asia and he's in Canada. Or is it just a matter of different versions due to OS release?
No big deal, though, just wondering.
Thanks in advance!
