So I'm still (and will be) on Bionix 1.3.1 and I have made my own google search bar to match my theme but I get annoyed that the market (Play) gives me the notification that there is an update for it. I don't want to upgrade to the new one which I think it looks too plain and white doesn't go with my theme. I don't want to be notified that I have a update for it either. I know if you use Titanium Backup you could remove the market link from the app but it only works temporary (next reboot and it notifies you again). I would like to know is there a manual way to do it permanently. IOW extract the app, unzip it, then remove that market link manually. does anyone knows how to do that? THX for your help.
Bionix 1.3.1 is money with bali 1.8.8 kernel. That was my setup last summer when i had my vibrant. One if the best phones ive ever had.

True, true, thats why im not on the ICS bandwaggon cuz for one I doubt Ill get this same stability as this setup no matter what anyone says...and two even if I get ICS I would probably make my screen setup and theme look just exactly how I have it now so I dont bother.....anyways any devs out there got a answer to my original question?
Well at that time we didnt have ics. Ive heard passion is really good on the vibrant.

Hi,
I'm using the bionix final R1 rom and I noticed that I don't have the latest market on it. I currently have version 1714 and the market updater is version 1000. I know that the latest version should be 200x. I've tried look it up but i couldn't find a working solution.
I've also tried what the market help suggested which was launch the market hit home wait 10 min launch the market again, but no luck.
What version of the market you currently have installed?
Any ideas what can fix it?
Thanks

I have the android 2.2 market, it has some little things that make the experience more convenient like automatic updating of apps, and one button you can hit to update all your available updates if you choose not to use the automatic update feature.
My recommendation: Flash a 2.2 ROM and upgrade more than just the market. If you're on bionix non-fusion, you're missing out on a lot of progress made since then. I recommend Axura, I've flashed the last couple versions without trouble and everytime it's worked beautifully for me, with no tricks or headaches. Check it out.
I'm really happy with the Bionix Final R1 and the Core 2 kernel. My phone is really snappy and the battery life is really good! I don't have any complains actually. Everything just works. I thought the the only difference between the bionix final to the fusion is the touchwiz. What other features\ improvements are there?
By the way my quadrant score is 2800+
Do you know if I can just take the Vending.apk from any 2.2 rom and push it to mine?
I was going through the samething.but found the 2.2 market apk on here. Just install it and it will update your current market. Just search on here for it.its under the apps and themes area!

Thanks! I found it!
You have no idea how much time I spent on it! It just didn't showed up in my searches!

hey guys. i just got my system upgraded to 2.2 froyo and was wondering which Rom would be best to flash my phone with... please advise your preference and if it is fully compatible w/ froyo. Also, if you could provide a link to where to download it from, i would be appreciative.
i have already tried axura and bionix fusion, both of which were causing problems on my system....

dont be lazy.. learn to use the search function / or go check out the vibrant bible..
I'm not being lazy, I'm trying to be smart. Instead of trial and error, I wanted to see what everyone else was experiencing so I can just DL one Rom and not 5-10.
Phone experience vary from person to person.. YOU ARE NOT going to have exactly the same widget, game, apps installed, and what not. each phone is set up differently depending on the user. which renders the question pointless.
You wont be having the same brightnes setting, data sync setting, volume setting, phone usage etc.. i honestly dont see anything smart about letting others make the call of what's best for you.

hey guys.
tried LP2 out and while it isn't polished enough (let alone the bugs) for me to stay with it ...i really did like a few things, task manager, browser, and the gmail app in particular ..
will the ICS gmail app run ok on KL3 ?
i grabbed the first apk i could find online and tried it just before, but popping it in the apps folder did nothing ....and trying to install the thing ...get a can't parse apk error ..
:/
There is absolutely no way to get the ics Gmail app running on gingerbread, even if you somehow managed to get it to install, you would never be able to open it, it would just force close instantaneously. The app relies on a completely different framework than what gingerbread has. It is kind of like trying to install htc sense apps on touchwiz, it is never going to work. Sorry to say, but you’re going to have to wait for a newer ICS build if you want those new apps.
If I have helped please press the “Thanks” button
You seem like a smart guy. Able to flash roms and 128 posts since 2008, could be worse.
Why would you ever imagine that any stock app from any major revision would work on the previous OS. Certainly even by dragging and dropping the APK??
ICS is a major overhaul of the OS, we're not even talking about the fact that Gingerbread (2.3) stock apps wont work on Eclair (2.1) but ICS (4.0) apps will never work on Gingerbread (2.3).
Just sit tight, ICS will be out soon enough for us from samsung in non beta form..
yeh fair call, suspected so but really liked it so ... ah well, one can hope.
kinda the down side that when you get to the end of a cycle , with KL3 being soooo solid and near perfect .... get a few mths out of it then back to buggy roms with ICS.
but yeh, a mth or two out yet i guess .... just wee things like trying to get the edit point in the ICS browsers address bar to the end .... nightmare on the LP2.
any chance google upgrade the gingerbread browser and gmail app to be along the lines of the ones seen in ICS ..i'm guessing no lol.
fingers crossed sammy end up with a really clean ICS rom for us in a few mths then.
PS it works on xoom/honeycomb ...thats what got my hopes up
Anyone else having problems installing the WIFI Drivers on-top of the latest OaT's Light n Tasty build?
I installed release dated 05/08/12 as usual (Cache, Dalvik, etc) install on-top of a previous OaT build and the latest Google Apps (OaT's "Light n Tasty" GApps (04/29) without problems and immediately began to have WIFI problems with the default build.
As suggested, I tried to install the Flashable ath6kl zip posted for LnT and the install completes, but the system locks-up showing Cyanogen - Loading message and never proceeds to the default ANDROID default boot screen.
I'd place this message in the OaT Light n Tasty developer build folder, but I don't have right to post there yet (need 10 posts and I'm only up to 5), so that is why I'm posting here.
Either way, I was able to reapply the 5/8 build and am surviving with the default CM9 WIFI drivers that kinda work sometime and not others.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks for the support! Sorli...
OaT posted today that he found out the wifi driver package he posted was broken. I would suggest that you try the 4/28 version B and see if that works better for you until a new version is posted.
Corporate Mail Issues?
Wanted to pick this thread back up for current discussions around the JellyBean development.
Is anyone else having issues getting the Corporate e-mail account to process on the 8/19 build of CM10? I have not been able to get my Corporate mail to successfully connect, and I've replicated the settings from my Droid 3 that happens to be running a CM10 build as well.
How does one reinstall the APKs for Corporate/Exchange e-mail? I may need to try this, but have not installed APKs on my own.
Any help or guidance is appreciated.
(Not calling this a bug, since OaT hasn't been asking for bugs given the early development stage of his ROM.)

Simply download the APK on your tablet from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1557111
When complete, click the notification and it will prompt you to install it. When it tells you it's complete, just click Done and you're ready to roll!
The end has come to OaT and CM10!
Disappointing news - OaT ROM is discontinued as the dev wasn't seeing the love from the users.
I think this indicates the end of the TouchPad and Android unless CM9 moves forward, or someone picks up CM10 from an old ROM that's floating around the internet.
Right now, I haven't seen much of anything, and Rev Kyle isn't sounding optimistic.
Boo! :crying:

Just wanted to toss out my 2 cents...Since owning 2 touchpads, i've have always been running OAT's rom since day one and CM9 on the other
Both ROM's have always rocked solid outside the basic issues....Kudos to the Dev's for that!
Currently, i've been running 07-29 since day off release and it has been my daily driver....never took the time to install the Beats version, as i was content with the original...i did DL the OaT-JB version and even that was rocking.
OAT it's a shame we will not see the love you've have had for the touchpad....ill miss the updates and following the thread.
PLEASE if you decide to give it a go again, id be more than happy to assist with any "testing".
Thanks for such great work and making my HPTP a very useable tablet. Till then.....
Rich
I'm really bummed to hear OAT steeping away from TP updates and support.
I like many did not have enough credits on xda-developers forums to post messages and replies when changes were made and I had no way of supporting his efforts on this forum. Shame and not a big surprise and hopefully things and TP support continues. Sorli...

like the rom so far very peppy however I am not a fan of golauncher never looked right for me. I am using Holo Launcher HD it is very peppy for my usage now I don't get why someone was having force close problems with it as it has been working great for me. The one thing I love about it is that gestures can be customized and it is not a premium feature.

Interesting and I'll have to try Holo Launcher and see what's changed. With Oat stepping away...looks like I'll have to try other builds soon. Thanks for Oat n Toasty and hopefully you'll be back with JB. Sorli...

I tried Holo launcher as I use that on my other devices...
But on my TP set to 120DPI, I think it looked horrid. I could not stand the fact that the icons were looking fuzzy and odd sizes... It looked fine at the default 160DPI but I like mine set at 120 and it was had. I had to go back to GoLauncher and it looks better for me. I have not tried ADW EX but for now, until CM10 becomes available (stable and not as nightly) I will stick with GoLauncher.

Ahh...that is why I was having problems with Holo Launcher and wondering why I had to mess so much of the settings.
I'm hopeful CM10 makes it, but then I'm not putting much stock since so many people are moving on to other hardware and leaving our TP behind in the limelight. Sorli...
Long story short, I don't know how I did it, but I somehow lost the Home app in my stock ROM. I don't run the ROM often, and ran it after a 5 month hiatus (oh god the updates!) and made the awful mistake of uninstalling GO Launcher EX. You ever run Android without any launcher? It is not fun! Fortunately Play Store was in the recent apps, and I could download and install Holo Launcher. So now it works. But I'd like the original launcher as well, just to have it on hand.
/edit: Background music for flashing stock ROM... It should play whenever you flash the stock ROM. (Don't wanna click? It's Darth Vader's "Imperial March" theme from Star Wars.)
//edit again: Thanks, it worked. The music was fitting. I can't believe my wife puts up with this lag. It's like going from a sports car to a fixer-upper. But I found what I was looking for.

Yes sir I have. I'll see if I have it somewhere. Do you need odex or deodexed? Also, which build?
Thanks Loki. And I don't know what I need. I used to vaguely know odex from deodex when I was using Samsung, but now the terms are foreign to me. If I used a file manager, I would have removed the odex file with it, I'm sure. If I used Titanium, I'm not sure if Titanium would have also removed the odex file.
It's kinda coming back to me... We had to deodex the system (on Samsung) before we could theme it. If that's just general Android... I'm sure I didn't deodex my system. Definitely didn't theme it. Sorry for the confusion. I assumed they were all the same file.
Build? 2.3.5. Shouldn't matter if it's from Photon or Electrify, I don't think. Only difference should be the default wallpaper. I'd actually prefer Photon's, but I can add the Photon wallpaper to the Electrify app.
Think this is 2.3.5 deodex
(I'm trying to find odex. Didn't realize my mopho archive is as big as it is)
EDIT:
So that wasn't it. But I did find Blurhome 2.3.4 from 198_7DeODEXed. I have stuff going as far back as Yay's preroot 198_7 (think I even saw Alien and Home Base) so try those two and let me know if they work.
Thanks Loki. I will try the second one.
Looks like I'm going back to stock (to try it), haha! So I just have to Nandroid my ICS ROM, then I can restore the stock ROM.
My own MoPho archive might be about 1GB. I dunno. I think I have current versions of all the ROMs. I don't generally keep old versions. And I'm not really involved with the scene (as in I haven't developed anything).
I'll edit and let you know if the second one works.
/edit: Weird. Not sure why my post reverted. I had two edits. Anyway, it worked -- thanks again!
