Anyone use anti-virus - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I don't believe there are android viruses heavy in the wild but does anyone run one? Which one and why?

I use Avast. Use on my PC and it works well. It also has an anti theft routine that allows you to wipe and lock the phone remotely. Its also free.

Ive never ran one but I noticed that most of the guys over at Android Central use Lookout. There must be some benefit.

until i see an antivirus app actually clean an infected phone, i dont see the need right now.

I use "Common Sense: 1997 Edition."
Seriously, most of the malware or dirty apps are MP3 downloaders or similar apps. If you have to ask, it's probably not legitimate.

I use Avast only because of the root features--I downloaded a sketchy apk from a Russian forum (it was that Portal port, OK!) and Avast notified me right away that there was a virus embedded in it. I later found out that the place I downloaded from was not the original posting, it was on a completely different forum (both were Russian though).

Lookout seems to work pretty well, but it's quite a battery drainer. I used to use AVG, and it was quite a bit better as far as battery goes. Now I don't use one at all. As long as you put a little thought into what you do and do not download, you don't need it.

You should probably distribute that book, it may have been the last published since common sense seems to evade everyone now a days haha!
