Hello all. I tried searching for one of these first but did not come up with a video so I thought I would share the one I found. I got my Note a little wet today and everything was fine except is kept saying "battery disconnected" when I would plug a charger into it. I was thinking of trying the bag of silica or rice but I searched the web and found this good video to disassemble my Note to dry it out from the inside. I took my Note apart, used a can of computer dust blaster to blow away any moisture, re-assembled and my Note is totally normal, for now anyways This video I am guessing is for the N7000 but it worked EXACTLY the same way on my AT&T Note.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFDr3PQMTxw - English Note
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1p2APtrBY4 - AT&T Note
P.S. - A guitar pick works really well in place of the special little plastic tools they use which I dont have.
thanks, i plan on changing out my housing. this will be good to have.
I don't think I've seen an easier tear down than this video. Nice find! Mod's, please sticky this!!!

can i use Note N7000 digitizer on AT&T galaxy note... will it work
wow, i just popped mine open with my fingernails (after unscrewing). was so easy. just ran my nail down the edge between the silver and white bezel. edge and pop pop pop, off it came.
on a sadder note, the bezel cracks extend all the way through the housing and are not just limited to the outer bezel we see normally
Wow nice find!!! Thank you
Great find! !!
I'll add this into the super thread when I get into work tomorrow ....
Thank you! !.......g
Here goes nothing!!!

Anyone have a simple way to prevent the sides of the battery door from squeaking? Mostly on the left side. Anyone else have this issue? Happens on my oem extended and oem standard door. Thanks in advance.

I had the same case and holster for the stock battery from verizon and quit using it after my phone slid out and hit the floor 5 times...
Went back to a leather case that you put the phone in (with belt clip).
perhaps a tad of electrical grease?...

If its the same thing that's happening to me then its not so much a squeak as it is feeling like its not completely on right.

I had that case and mine has always been tight. Had to really try and get it out to answer. I have 3 extras back from cpo they sent.
Well, my first drop on my week old phone was apparently enough to "almost" completely kill it.
Anyway, i'm looking for a new glass screen for it. I found some on eBay but they only have the international Galaxy Note glass panel. Does anyone know where i could get the glass for the i717?

No, I prefer to run my phones bare. Never had a drop quite this bad.
It was from a good 3-4 feet right onto its screen
I suggest waiting a bit more. The phone just got launched so there are not many accessories for it now.
Btw it's good to know that the note really has gorilla glass. Your screen would have died completely if it was a traditional LCD.

I totally agree about the gorilla glass. However I feel that the size of the note leads to more flex in its chassis.
The glass is only 15 bucks for the international note, hopefully they get one for ours.
Sorry to hear about your disaster . Hope a screen shows up soon.

Makes me glad I ordered a case even more now.

I wish that was a wallpaper with dark marks making it look like broken glass, but alas it's not... It's real sad, but that could easily been prevented by putting a case. But i don't blame you at the same time because it his a lot more nicer without a case...

Amazing thing is, the only mark I can see is a slight nick on the corner, but it's that small, it may have been there a while and I've just not noticed it, considering it's plastic, it's still very well built. Lol.

You're damn lucky, my tab fell once out off my hands and i already had a small nick in my upper left corner
Blimey! I must be lucky as it's no where near as bad as that! I'll post a pic in a mo...
Edit: It's more of a graze than anything else.

2 options... Or you are darn lucky, or i must be an unlucky person in technology... Broke my laptop, pc, and mobile in 2 weeks (hardware issues) and accidently dropped my tablet and had a pretty hard nick in it... but that's already a while ago
Mine dropped from 3foot up, needless to say it shattered the digitiser. Though, it did me a favour as now I have an all white tab rather then white back black front... Horrible design...
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk HD
Wow. It feels really flimsy in my hands.
Like I could just snap it in half no problem.
Mine survived an 8 foot drop directly on the corner, and just has a small white scratch. This is just about the toughest non-rugged tablet out.
Anyway, it may be a little shock resistant, but it's NOT waterproof in any way lol, my first tablet Didn't survive Pukkelpop 2011 (if you don't know what happened on this festival, youtube it) the tab was lying in my tent and became a little moist, not really wet... Mother nature decided to kill it anyway but i went back to the store and told them what exactly happend and they gave me a replacement...months later... after a horrible story
Anyone try any wood cases for the Note 3.

Before I get the responses of (oh this is crap, or why do you want a wooden case or something else, just remember, we all like different things)
So, I'd appreciate any and all "constructive" feedback on these cases or anything someone else might have found in terms of wood cases for the Note 3.
Thanks in advance.
Haven't tried these ones, but my partner has a wood case on her S3 and it is really nice.

I had a wood case for my S3 as well, and can't for the life of me remember where I got it, might have picked it up one weekend in Chinatown when I was out and about in the City (I live in Brooklyn, end up going to the City occasionally on weekends), so if you can remember where your partner got hers, I'd appreciate the tip.
I like the feel of the wood and the one I had for my S3 wasn't slick at all when you held it. It weathered a lot over time and so it made it worth having.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes I got one of those they it was outstanding. Only problem was, I prefer my phone naked with the OEM wireless charging back.

Not the exact one you posted a link to, but I love this one. That rose finish is awesome, might have to pick one up. Got this one off Amazon for 17.37 after shipping. Was sent from China, got it in a week.

I just changed my Black 32gb to white. Much easier than I thought! I guess I'm on the only one with a white 32gb ?.
I ordered all the parts on eBay. Rear housing, white fingerprint scanner, and white SIM tray.

Nice! 6P got awful repairablilty scores but it's really not bad at all. I think most people are just scared to heat it up enough to soften the glue and they wind up shattering the camera glass prying on it. I changed mine from aluminum to black. I left the aluminum fingerprint sensor though. Edit- Looks like we use the same cheapo Stanley heat gun too.

Lol yup, I think we do. I was nervous too due to the repair scores. I watched a few videos and it seemed pretty easy. Changing the fingerprint scanner was super easy to. It did help I had a screen separator tool too. I'm really happy with the white!

nicely done, one day i will get a replacement so i can keep for any repairs after my nexus protect expires.
I picked up the graphite because I didn't want to spring for the 64gb to get white.. I'm happy with it.. But that is one creative way to get white on a 32gb, well done!!
