Hi,
I was reading in the dev section and read briefly about an app called onibar? which allows you to change the status bar icons. Does anybody know where I could get the app from, or know of any app which would allow me to change either the status bar icons and/or the drop down notification?
Thanks

Search for ROM Toolbox in Play Store. It does that job, very useful app. Icon Changing is under Interface options. Must be rooted ofc.
yeah, I have tried ROM Toolbox, in fact I bought the Pro version, however the mods aren't compatible with S2 yet apparently (says the dev), a couple work but not many..
I have Dragon ROM installed now, more than happy with it
Thanks for your help

Hi All,
I am currently using the latest EWJet Rom and I really like it.
The only thing that surprised me was that in the previous versions, there was no transparency background (when displaying a menu, there was a dark background I could not modify).
In this version (3.5), the background uses transparency, and we get the homescreen background as a background in menus (instead of the dark).
I don't like this, I feel like I cannot ever find a background that allows me to see clearly the text in the menus.
Does anyone know how to remove this background transparency?
At the moment I just put a black background in my homescreen so that I can get a black background in the menus. So I would really enjoy a REAL solution !
Thanks
Can I get any help about this issue ?
In the recent posts of the EWJet Rom thread, someone writes something about a "no transparency zip" but I cannot find it...
Use search function.

Or use another ROM

Thanks for those answers, but it doesn't really help me! :-(
1) I used search before posting (even though this is my first thread on this forum, I am reading it for several months --> this is the first time I do not find the answer by myself)
2) I do not want to change Rom, I wrote that I like it. I personnaly believe it is the fastest Rom on X10.
Moreover, there was an answer to the guy who wrote about the "no transparency zip", saying that it only works for the notification bar, not for the menus.
Does anyone know how to remove transparency background in the menus ?

First of all, thanks for helping.
And yes, I mean settings ! (And system app backgrounds in general)
I do not know how you can solve this, but I am willing to learn if you can explain a little. If not, no problem, I am quite sure I will be interested in this later and search by myself.
have u tried the remove_transperacy zip provided with the OP of EWjet rom?

All you need to do is update the (i think 4) background images in the framework-res.apk and semcGenericUXP.apk (both in system/framework/) turn it back into the sony wave if you like but. on a side note.
does the rom have tinting or are the apps all FULLY transparent. eg. look at the atached pic.
the dialer part is FULLY transparent and the part where the numbers come up is 80% tinted

Bump. I would like to hide the alarm icon. I have alarms set all the time, it just takes up space without providing any information.
I have root.

Gave it one star. Doesn't do what you said, only adds notifications
Did you ever find a solution? This is especially irritating considering that I installed Battery Widget Reborn and it has a more readable icon that sits next to the default one.
I have a Verizon S3, but here is what I found, just have a question...
I did a search looking to delete my battery icon from my status bar now since I have the percentage up there. I have already found the stat_sys_battery.xml file but I had a couple quick questions. (got my info from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010487 )
I downloaded 7Zipper from the market, open the SystemUI.apk with it ("Open with Zip Viewer), go to res/drawable and I navigate to stat_sys_battery.xml, the only option I get is to extract it, not delete it. Does this need to be done via a computer to actually delete it or will "extracting it" just remove it from the .apk?
Also, I have 2 res folders: 1 dated 09 Nov 12 & one dated 01 Jan 80
With that said, I also have 2 drawable folders, both with the same dates as the res folders.
It appears they are the same, but look like they have the same things in them. I guess in the end my question is, Is this the proper way to delete this on the phone or should I plug it in and delete from the computer?
Install JKay framework (link found in my signature), and then buy the deluxe app from the play store to customize it. you can hide or center clock, alarm, battery and play with it the way you want. It also contains lots of other features

In his defense, this thread is about 6 months old...Not sure if you saw the date or not.
OAE08, thank you, I'll download that and check it out. I like that idea better anyway instead of having to mess with the phone files
Edit: I see you need CWM too install this, huh? I have TWRP right now...although ODIN looks like an option.
Edit: No flash! Thanks Glebun.

Hello
I'd like to know if it was possible to change the notification bar on a deodexed or a custom ROM? Or take an already made notification bar from a custom rot and put it in an another one?
Thanks
Yes you can with a custom rom like CyanogenMod or Aokp
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Ok, thank you.
If someone can explain me how to do it pls...or just tell me what file is the notification bar??
It's a feature of the rom. You can change the clock, the battery bar and signal, and with themes you can change layout and color. You can change the notification bar manually, by replacing files in system ui, but it's difficult for new android users
PS If i helped you hit the "thanks" button
Is there a way to modify the notification area without a custom ROM ? my phone is rooted, don't really wanna mess to much with it.

What I needed was to edit the SystemUI.apk or use an already moded apk, for anyone who might be as lost as I was, moding an apk is a really time consuming job when you're new to the game, there are plenty of already moded files in here.
I have recently upgraded to 4.1.2 ELLA stock. I am using a rooted 9300 on stock kernel.
Is there a hack that will give me the ability to edit the apps that are available in the bottom shortcuts on the new screen that appears when headphones are inserted? I don't use any of the stock apps, but they are all that appear!
Yes there is.

LOL - clever clogs. But that doesn't work. That's designed for editing the shortcuts that appear on the notification drop down. I want to edit the ones that appear at the bottom of the main screen. Try to long press on those and you get a pop up saying they can't be edited. Is there a mod for that?
I don't use TW so I don't know what you're talking about.
Use a custom launcher like Nova
I have the same problem.
I don't know how to change them.
But if anyone finds the answer, I am interested too.
Found this for the z1 and it works with the XZU. It makes the status and nav bar transparent in other launchers on the stock rom.

You cannot. At the very least you would have to be rooted as without it you do not have access to any system apps. To do it correctly you would need to be rooted and have a recovery program (either CWM or TWRP).
Thank you very much ! Was a total noob but i had to learn and search for all theses stuffs , root, recovery, etc ,but it worked ! i now have a transparent status and nav bar.
Except that i would love to be able to change the transparency depending on the theme i use. I heard about xposed and Gravity Box which is really cool, everything work except the transparency settings ....
I guess i have to deal with a Full transparent bar then .
I do have a question though, how do revert back to the stock bars in case i need ??
Thank again

Easiest way would be to take the zip u downloaded and flashed and put your old system ui in that zip and reflash it. If u didn't make a backup, I think there is one floating around here somewhere

I use XBlast Tools for Xposed. Works like a charm. I also use the SystemUI Patcher module, which increases the icon sizes for the statusbar-icons.
I think there's a module that lets you change color automatically depending on the app that's running.
Is not working on 136 monx 's rom
