Before I explain the problem let me type and show you what my droid razr (CMDA) does everytime i boot since last night
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Recipe Failure)
0a.66
Device is LOCKED. Status Code:0
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
AKA the problem is the Recipe failure. Now I can successfully RSD to 744,748,and 173 however when i reboot i have to hold power + volup/down and go to normal power up to continue. Biggest issue i have is having to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME which also makes getting into recovery a pain.
I can put up pictures if need be but they will taken with my xoom. AKA not all that great.
-Derrick
Comment if you need more details. Dont ask for android version. I've flashed 744, 748 via OTA, and 173. Yes i've RSD'ed with the newest RSD, I've also used Matt's Droid Razr Utility 1.51, and I've used windows cmd promt and the fastboot.exe to fastboot the files manually.
No such luck.
Any help PLEASE!
You tried a wipe data on Motorola Recovery?
I got that problem, when i first flashed an rom (don't know if the text on screen was the same) Always booted into AP.
So i wiped Data with Motorola Recovery and everything works fine.

I think i had this problem more than once. I'm pretty sure its a mismatch of mbmloader to the rest of your system. I fixed it by manually fastbooting the whole .173 zip

+1 What he said.
I got this same behavior the first time I RSD'ed back to 173 when an OTA update failed. I ignored the errors from the default XML file. I fixed the errors in the XML, reflashed the whole image, and it worked.
Edit the XML, remove the two operation = "oem" entries, save, RSD.
Yeah I have the 744, 748, and 173 zips. I even tried manual fastboot, the utility, and RSD and i still get it.
When I did try the RSD I used a homemade USB host cable so from what i hear from hashcode its possible i corrupted one of the system partitions with a bad usb transfer and since i was doing so on a low battery level thats also a possibilty as to what caused the issue.
My main question is there anyway to reset the versions of the paritions without us having a means unlock the BL?
I have the same problem with my razr maxx.
anyone can help us to solve it?

Both will work. With RSD lite you have a safe verification of signature of the rom.

I even get the green light when my phone is stuck on the animation, my phone even recognises that the phone is connected to the pc but still i get no response from the device its self to boot up out of the animation. My phone recognises all button touches (volume keys) but after flashing with both the rsd method and non rsd method it still won't work. I have even tried re downloading the rom but no luck
If you're getting to the boot animation it won't be a hard brick. Flash again, try using Fla**** instead of RSD, then wipe.both data and cache from stock recovery.

LOL, YOU LOT DONT UNDERSTAND< I tried all methods but they didn't work. I KNOW HOW TO FLASH BECAUSE I HAVE A TUTORIAL ON IT.
However i figured out after a while that if i recently tried to update to 2.3.6, my phone must be trying to upload something from the sd, so i removed my sd card and instantly i was put into the home launcher
I dunn0 if that made sence

If you don't have it working you're doing it wrong. You obviously haven't tried it all. Try clearing all caches and then flash new sbf. Please note it will take quite a while to do "first boof"

current condition: 2.3.4 stock/unlocked
I'm trying to relock my photon, I tried the quick method by factory reset then flashing back stock recovery, then rsd the nopuddingforyou.sbf file. End result is *failed to boot 1* error.
And I can't pull up recovery via pwr+dwn...screen goes blank with that.
The only way back to booting up android is flashing *derpunLock.sbf* and it still saying unlock at top of screen.
I tried rsd'ing the full 198-7.sbf file.
It completes, reboots phone and same error *failed to boot 1*
Again, only way back to booting android is..
Flash with rsd, the derpunlock.sbf file
Which leaves me with a fresh install and an unlock bootloader.
I was using the root-unlock-relock "kit" lokifish has on his martian imporrium site (sorry if I missed spelled it.
Any suggestions, thanks id appreciated

Can you get fastboot running to reflash CWM recovery? If so, do it, then wipe data/factory reset in CWM, reboot into RSD mode, then flash 198_6 sbf? Try it! Be sure to charge the phone all the way.

Ill try it. I havent wiped thru cwm...i just did it thru the os (do you think they don't work the same?)

You will relock once you wipe and then SBF...but you need to get into fastboot first...so turn off the phone, and then press pwr+vol down...it should say Unlocked fastboot..then hook it up to the computer...reflash CWM if you can..
flash the CWM recovery.img like before and then cmd: fastboot reboot
Reboot the phone into RSD mode..and flash the SBF...

Same results "failed to boot 1" so I flash derpunlock.sbf then it boots.

No, I cannot flash full sbf normally, I must hack it, after rsd creating image, right before flashing (when the phone reboots), with cg3 and cg42 from derpunlock.sbf, if I remember it right. .
Rsd temp dir is somewhere in user\appdata folder.

you can try restoring your system because that's all that's messed up. i've had a couple people try my system restore method and it worked. one has reported a failed to boot 4... you can alternatively try the sbf restore. both are shown on my site here http://www.motosunfire.com/system/ be sure to restore your backup (which you should have one) if you get it booted from the system restore.
thanks for replying

it shouldn't hurt because it's only restoring the system files. you can either do that or flash the Electrify SBF, but then you need to do a bunch of other steps to restore your phone. so it's up to you. i've had a few have success with my system restore method. one failure. i don't see it bricking the device in any way. it's as safe as it gets

Hi all
I purchased what seemed to be a xt910 from ebay once arrived it worked on the android gb retailasia.03 , what was weird about it is that the outside was branded with verizon and behind was written on the phone xt912 while the about page said it was a XT910.
On the phone was superuser which i guess it had to be rooted
I messed up and used Matt's utility to tro to update the phone to ics and got stuck in a bootloop it wont start , go into recovery or anything i have been trying to flash with verizon ics , gb , asiaretail ics and gb it is very confusing since i dont know if it's a verizon or xt910 orignally.
I have not been updating over 4.0.4 since i read that once you update you can't turn back although i tried to update it never booted and received errors on RSDLITE 5.7 cdt.bin Failed on every time
I was low on battery and ordered a factory cable from ebay , If this is helpfull
I am hopeless and gave it to a shop , of course he couldn't do it so this is my last resort and anyn help will be much apreciated i couldn't even use and tryout this amazing phone and yet i have it 1 month stuck on fastboot
I am currently located in israel and people just don't know this stuff here
i will provide pictures as well and hope some of you can help me since i am a noob in this and it's way more complicated then i expected
IT will be greatly apreciated
thanks!

Did you clear data / factory reset it at least twice in a row? Before and after using the utility? Many times boot loop is easily fixed this way.
Sorry to state the obvious but first things first right.

Follow the steps below.
1.Doawload a RsdLite,you can find it online.
2.Download a XT912 Jellybean Fastboot
File on internet.
3.Connect your phone to the computer with AP mode.(You can get into AP mode with this way ress the volume - button and power button about 10 seconds, when the screen turns into black, release the power button and keep pressing the volume button.)
4.Run the RSDLite, pull your Fastboot file into the RsdLite window, click the button in the middle.Wait the process over and the phone will reboot automaticly.
If your really can solve the problem in tjis way, dont give any donation to me,donation isnt the reason why I want to help.

Hi All,
I have a Droid Razr Maxx (Verizon) which was on 4.1.2 OTA update. I tried to edit the build.prop and messed up. The phone turns on to the Red Moto logo, later goes into the typical Droid Razr graphics and is stuck there for ever (Stuck on Booting?). I am able to enter into recovery, thankfully.
Now can anyone suggest a way to flash only the build.prop to restore it?
Else, can you point me to stock XT912M 4.1.2 so that I can flash getting into recovery?
Or is there is a better way that I could get out of this mess?
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sid

you might want to try using rsd to fully restore the phone. That would also fix your issue. I have done this lots of times. Before you start make sure your phone is charged. Or you will have to buy a USB cable that allows the phone to work with the computer with out charging.

In order to flash only build.prop you need to be able to start an adb session and then push the file, or use aroma which executes after boot menu manager so it is not a choice since you can't pass from red logo.
Easier way is rsd flashing a service rom so it will not delete so many files.

Used RSD and flashed stock ROM 4.1.2.

It has links for all Motorola devices and for all versions. Hope it will be helpful.
