Hi, you only have the choice of one kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138167
It's a really good kernel, from a talented developer called pershoot, I have been running it since I first got the tab. It also allows you to overclock to 1.4ghz which really makes the tab worth using in my opinion, 1ghz dual core just feels so slow especially when web browsing. I would strongly recommend you try this kernel out, it's fast, stable and good with battery life.
I hope this helps you
Thanks for the info! Galaxy Tab newbie here wondering the same thing.

What's the fastest rom that is stable for this tab? I'm sick and tired of lag. Is ICS Rom's faster then any other HC Roms? I really doubt official ICS will be smooth at all. I still don't get it, why is the Motorola xoom/ Acer iconia smoother then my GTab running overcome with pershoot kernel overclocked?
hmmm
I have the galaxy task 14 rom with standard kernell and the touchscreen mod...
Then using adw ex as home replacement...
Its as smooth as butter?
Its not all about speed and overclocking...sometimes downclocking makes it faster and smoother.. and be sure to not use task killers.. even the standard task manager isnt good
Good luck
But I am using a tab 7500 and 3G is important to me, is there a similar rom to this?

Hello, got a galaxy tab for my little sister. I need a ROM that is fast, and rock stable no fuss. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am not familiar with samsung galaxy tabs. Thank you for your time!
Do you have the P7500 (3g) or the P7510 (wifi)?
For P7500 I can recommend Overcome (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1348533)
For P7510 you have way more options, but since I don't own this version I can't really help you.

For a 7510, Task14 is by far the best and most stable. Here is the link for ya

I've had no issues on Task 14 either. Nothing against the other roms, I just haven't used them. I recommend ADW launcher, it seems a bit snappier than the stock touchwiz launcher.
Another vote for Task 14. It has been by far the best I have tried.

If you want the best honeycomb its GALAXY Task 14, the best Ice Cream Sandwich in my opinion would be the AOKP Build 32.
Hope I was useful to you
Agreed with most everyone here: task14 is the fastest, most stable, and fully functional ROM that I have used on my 7510 wifi.

Hi caaznkid, I just wanted to say "kudos", for getting your little sister a great tablet. Top marks, for being a good brother.
I recently upgraded my girlfriend from an ASUS Transformer, to a Wi-Fi only, Galaxy Tab 10.1. Much lighter and thinner, which actually makes a difference. She never used the other hardware features of the Transformer which make it nearly twice as thick.
My girlfriends Tab is currently running Coffebeans ICS Unofficial build. And my girlfriend who's a mere mortal, not a geek. Hasn't complained once.
Kudos. Anil
Hello everyone I will put task 14 on for her then thank you so much for all your suggestions. I think the tablet is great for entertainment as well as learning things especially those interactive books. Hopefully it does some good for her education too and not just games and videos haha.

It's been a while since I've flashed anything other than CM9 to my tablet. Before that I hadn't flashed anything. I'm giving it to a family member and I would like for the camera to work. Seems everyone is either on CM9 or AOKP. What's the most optimized ROM I can get on here with a working camera?
In my opinion, the absolute best ROM with a working camera is the task14 full rom with pershoot's oc kernel. My tab is snappy, and very stable.

links to what you have installed please. I've noticed the latest kernels are all for cm9.
Oh yeah... Any special process coming from CM9?
Another vote for Task. Find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1340064
I had some weird problems with task 14 so I switched to overcome and liked it til the force of nature demanded that I flash AOKP!

you won't see a camera on ICS until its officially released.........
Yesterday I flashed the task rom and pershoot kernel. My Tab is very stable now, way better than Samsung stock. And, like you, I need the camera so ICS is not an option right now.
Thank you for the replies. Much appreciated.

Questions go in the Q&A section
Since you haven't mentioned your GTab's version, I think if yours is the 3G version, the best custom ROM is the Overcome 2.3.1 for now. I've tried it combined with the v6 Superchqrger script. But some also mentioned Bindroid is also nice. Maybe I'll try that later.
I'm really interested on the Motorola Atrix (non-AT&T's), so I've been doing some research here on XDA and other places and it seems a really good device to buy.
It has official ClockworkMod recovery (regular and touch), official CyanogenMod 7.2, a great community behind it, coming ICS to the AT&T's version (which would be useful to get some proper libs for CM9 and perhaps CM10) and the benchmark results are fairly good.
But there are some questions that remain unanswered.
I looked for videos on YouTube of the CyanogenMod 7.2 on the Atrix to evaluate the experience and smoothness, but they are all old (early in the days of unofficial builds). Also, most of them have 1.4, 1.45 or 1.5 GHz of CPU clock.
I'm interested to know how it performs with a recent official CyanogenMod 7.2 and its stock kernel at default 1 GHz of CPU clock (again, both experience and smoothnes). The stock CM kernel is 2.6.32, right?
I appreciate any feedback you guys can give me. Thanks again! :good:
Me use 20120701
Change kernel ( last CM7 faux )
Work very well.
Battery life is good.
Now using 20120708
Stock kernel.
Good job. Stable and fast.
Sory for bad english.

Hey
I own an ATT Atrix 4G device which runs on the official stable cm7.2.
I never over/under clock my device because i hate doing that..
Its is very smooth, very quick and responsive. No lag at all.
Also there are better launchers (i.e. the touchwiz launcher) which are way more responsive then stock ADW and have absolutely no startup lag.
So long story short, it is a great device, I love it and i would suggest so buying it.
Sorry for my bad English, Nathan.
I'd invest in a different phone that doesn't overheat and doesn't lag as much as the atrix.
lags? what kind of lags? I am using official CM7 with stock kernel and it's orrery stable and fast. but sometimes I wanna go to back to blur ROM for webtop, this is one of the best features.
Thanks everyone for your answers! :good:
One more question: I found the device folder of the official CyanogenMod, but I can't find the kernel sources of the official CyanogenMod. I only found these sources, but they are not on the CyanogenMod's github. Could someone tell me where to find the official kernel sources?
As always, thanks in advance! :good:

Thanks, but I'm looking for the kernel's source code.
I sugest TWRP instead of clockworck, has a better interface.
This phone is pretty reliable, but i would get a Galaxy Nexus For 350 from the Playstore.

I can't complain about my good old Atrix, but I have to admit that Nexus is possibly the future of Google.
Hello. Can I get some suggestions for the fastest ROM and kernel combination for the fascinate? I have looked all over Google but honestly couldn't find anything relatively new. I want something that can handle a decent overclock, is stable, and is very fast so I can play games with no lag. Any suggestions? I honestly would rather GB over ICS but if getting ICS is what it takes to get maximum speed, then I will go for it. But I would appreciate GB Rom and kernel combinations and ICS ROM and kernel combinations along with some pros and cons of each. That would be great. Thank you!
Bump

CM7 and 9 are pretty fast. I'd stay away from JB for now, as it is surprisingly slow. MIUI has good looks and speed but gets literally HALF the battery life CM9 does. The only kernel in town for CM7 is Glitch, witch is a good one. For ICS you have a choice between Devil Kernel and IcyGlitch. Devil has more features and is my preferred kernel, especially since IcyGlitch as the buggy TWRP recovery.
I like aokp m6 with the devil kernel. very fast and stable

Honestly, Helly Bean ROM version 20120807 isn't slow at all. It supports a 1.4GHz overclock and runs 4.1.1. Unlike other ROMs, HB uses /datadata partition to make things quick and smooth. However, no kernel uses /datadata, so the stock kernel has to be used. But i love it.

I have experienced better battery life on MIUI for my HD2 than CM7 or CM9.

Thank you. I think I will try the AOKP ROM. I'm using CM7 as of now with the Glitch kernel but the battery life isn't that great and it's as slow as turtle.
