[Q] Enable accelerometer, when screen is off - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hello everyone. I wanted to try apps like Sleep as Android or ElectricSleep, but I've noticed, that accelerometer doesn't give data when screen is off. Is there a way to enable it with a help of some app or something?
Smart Actions has a trigger Motion Detector, which lets to add some actions when there is no motion for a few minutes and it works. So, I'm a little bit confused, is this some bug of an app, or Motion Detector doesn't use accelerometer? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I had a similar problem. Unfortunately for me the only solution was to buy and do Xperii X8 downgrade to Adnroid 1.6.
Only in version 1.6 you could use the accelerometer when the screen is off.
Or buy Axbo sleep phase alarm

[Q] Disable Automatic Brigthness

Hi,
I've just bought an Xperia Neo with 2.3.4 firmware.
I'd like to know if there's a way to disable Auto brightness dimming.
In the Settings--Display--> I can change the brightness level, but the auto-dimming remains active.
There's a way to disable it without rooting device?
Widgets and application from the market doesn't disable auto dimming...
Thnx to everyone!
WZ
i would also like to know this, it's so frustrating, when i accidentally put my finger over the sensor it dimms the screen so i can barely see a thing

[Q] Looking for an app that will activate the screen when someone walks in the room

I've been searcing Play Store for an app that use motion detection by the front camera to wake up the screen on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 when someone enters the room, or is walking near the device. The Camera Trigger (Motion detect) app is one that looked promising, but unfortunately there is no trigger for activating the screen. I also looked at Tasker but there is as far as I can see currently no event available to use motion detected by camera to activate the screen.
The reason I would like this is because the Tab is used by my family to display the Google agenda/calendar for all family members and their activities. Instead of having to turn on the device it would be a cool hi-tech feature to automatically turn on the screen when someone walks in the room. I understand that using the camera for such a purpose would make the battery drain quicker, but that's ok as the Tab is alway in it's docking station with a power adapter. Also I'm not using the lock screen/there is no security as this is a Tablet used by the family.
Anyone?
Thx n brgds ToonWolf
I want the exact thing
Hi there,
I just wanted to say that i actually want the exact thing:
An app that turns on the screen, when motion is detected by the front facing camera
and turns it off again, if there hadn't been motion for a couple of seconds...
Have you found a solution / an app that can do that?
or anyone else here ?
I'm surprised / sad that it looks like there isn't an app for that...
Me too.
I am using a Gbox to display my security cams on a tv mounted up in the corner of the kitchen. Right now I have we turn on the TV with a remote when walking into the room, but it would be extremely sexy if it the screen woke when it detected motion and went to sleep after 10 mins or so.

Mini Pro rotation problem

Hello guys, I have mini pro. Unfortunately sensor that located on the front is not working anymore. so my phone alwyas stayin as the ''rotate screen automatically'' enabled. İs there any solution to get home screen in portrait mode not landscape. thanks
Any help friends. Can I delete any file from system connected with rotation and end the problem!!!
hey there, do you happen to know exactly what sensor controls this? i'm still trying to figure this out. I'm sorry but I can't help you on this one
On mini pro there is no sensor control. Mybe I am wrong it not about sensor. Home screen and all apps are always shown in landscape mode , even screen rotation disabled in settings.
I have tried nearly all ics kernels, all the same. When installed kitkat rom 4.4.2 all is well screen rotation is backed to normal. I dont know whats wrong with ics!!

[REQ] Wear OS Fall Detection

Hello all,
Any chance someone would be interested in helping to implement fall detection on regular wear OS watches? Something similar to those on the galaxy and apple watches. Am I missing something that should be an obvious reason this hasn't been implemented?
Thanks
I have looked into this, and there are some difficulties to it. Most algorithms for fall detection use continuous accelerometer and/or gyroscope readings. There is a significant battery hit for making these recordings continuously.
As far as I know, the only way to make this viable is to use sensor batching with wakeup accelerometer and gyroscope sensors. That way, the device will be able to sleep for a significant portion of the time and be woken up when there are new measurements. Some devices (I'm looking at you ticwatch pro 3) don't even have wakeup accelerometer or gyroscope. The only way I see to get around this is using the significant motion detector which is always a wake-up sensor. Maybe this sensor will be triggered to wakeup the device when a fall occurs and sensors can be recorded at that time.
I think this is how I would go about it, but maybe I'm missing something
Sounds like a good plan for starters... cheers

I don't have a great understanding of how these all integrate into the system but I would think that the same sensor, what I am assuming is an accelerometer, that is used for the wake feature could also be used for this. Like you said, using the full suite would be prohibitively expensive from an energy standpoint, but I assume that the wake accelerometer can be used to directly measure the acceleration of the wake motion and could also be used to calculate fall detection, one that measures the acceleration and not just if said motion is occurring. So, there would be no need for the rest of the sensor suite to be used after, correct? As a side note, it would be pretty cool to have the watch read vitals and such and be able to report that with the fall notification via a continuous stream of text messages on set intervals.

Question Disable proximity sensor while playing games

Hi,
I bought my son Mi 11 Lite 5G, but he has problems. He is used to do a Viber call with his friends while playing games, but every time his finger goes over proximity sensor, the screen shuts off, it's really frustrating... Is there a way to disable proximity sensor while the call is in background, or while in game mode? Even a manual toggle would be ok if I could find a way to put a shortcut somewhere.
What are my options? I searched the Internet, but I couldn't find any practical solution... In the "Incoming call settings" there is no toggle to switch the sensor off (screenshot attached). The phone is fully updated.
Thank you!
That is a Viber parameter, check out in settings /calls and messages /use device proximity sensor ....in Viber.
Thank you, it works! I feel kind of stupid for not checking there :/
