As a College Project, I have to create an Android App for searching the SMS Messages stored in the device. for eg. if one types "hi", then all the messages containing the word "hi" are displayed on screen. I know that this is directly possible in the new Android versions but now I can't change the topic and I'll have create such an app and complete it in January 2012!
I have searched on Google and have found 2 ways:-
1. Using the Mobdev Wiki Tutorial and searching for the messages, which is complex and I have not yet used databases for programming so it is fairly new for me.
2. Using the Android Search Interface for directly using Android's search UI and make things easier and simpler for me.
I need suggestions on which method is suitable and what other options are available. And how can the SMS Database be linked to the Android Search Interface and the messages be displayed properly on screen. Looking forward to your suggestions and answers, if you don't have time, please atleast give links to useful resources related to the above problem!

I've written an application for android, and published it on the market 3 days ago.
I already have a about 500 downloads and 17 reviews.
I don't have problem finding the application on the market search, but i can't find the app when browsing at the top new free apps (looked in about 20 pages). Also can't find the app in when browsing through the category of the application. It's like the application is in the market but is not indexed anywhere... Can someone help?

Hello,
I want to try the sample Wifi Direct Demo, http link : "developer.android.com/resources/samples/WiFiDirectDemo/index.html" on multiple android emulators, but I'm not able to activate the WIFI P2P on each emulator, so it's possible to do it or no ??
PS: I took a look about the port forwarding, but it's doesn't work since a WIFI connection is needed before.
Thank you so much

Hello Everyone,
Let me start out by saying if this is the wrong forum please feel free to relocate this post.
I have a general question about fixing a broken Android App. SkyWatcher USA makes an app for Android for the Astronomy buffs. Many of the telescope manufacturers use a controller called SynScan that allows "Go-To" operation of the telescope mount. Many also have either built-in WiFi or sell an adapter that allows you to "tether" your scope to your Android device. This allows many 3rd party planetarium apps to control the scope's computerized mount. SkyWatcher's app is called SynScan Pro.
One of the app's features is getting GPS location data from the device. Since the introduction of Android 12 that feature is broken. I was thinking I've been waiting for months for an update that will restore the ability to use the location sensor in my device but it isn't available yet. Currently if you enable use of the location sensor the app crashes.
My question is how does one with little app building experience find good info on how to fix this broken function and bring the app up to Android 12.
Thanks
