Had HTC phones for the past 4years now, Loved the Diamond and HD2, Hated the Plastic HD7 and drooled over the Titan when I first got it, Got a Lumia 800 the other day which was very cheap so gave it a go, Totally sold on it now, Screen so much better and the colours really vivid, Curved screen is a nice touch and the Nokia apps a real treat, Have ordered a Free Lumia 900 with a new contract so just gotta wait for that now, Think I can live with the slightly smaller screem on the 900, So impressed with the build quality overall of the Nokias, Think I will keep the Titan for now just in case the 900 turns out to be too good to be true but judging from the 800 I have high hopes, Time will tell

Got Lumia 800 myself this morning and tell you what - it's a beauty!
I loved Windows Phone from day 1, but after using Lumia 800 (no FFC, small phone, no added camera features) - I haven't touched my Titan since!
The colours make it all so pleasant I think. It just feels so beautiful and good.
I have made up my mind. Never, ever, ever, ever buy S-LCD or SS-LCD or SSS-LCD over an Ameloid or S-Ameloid especially the one with ClearBlack technology! It's well worth giving away big screen, front facing camera and panorama shots!
Oh, wait did I say big screen? Of course I din't mean that. The only reason I am using my Titan back from tomorrow is because I LOVE it's enormous screen size. If I can, I will get Lumia 900 for sure.
The "Lumias" are gorgeous girls in the town. However "Lumia 900" has long legs and a dimple on her cheek (FFC I mean!)
Ha ha that's a great way of putting it, Am glad am not the only one falling for the lumias charms
I will never buy any tech (tablet or phone) with amoled screens due to potential burn in over time. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has burn in issues and i saw a lumia 800 with screen burn too with my own eyes. Super LCD is just as good (without being over saturated).
I love my Titan and can never go back to 4.3 again.

It's design is gorgeous! If it was the Meego OS, I wouldn't have been so attracted I guess. But WP + the design has made me feel like cheating on the titan!

I agree with the screen size here, but am not sure about the burns. I am rationalising it this way - The phones I use only last or should last for a year or two at max. If it burns after that period, it's ok. But the looks and colours are SO stunning with clearblack technology on Lumias!
Yeah am not that worried about the burn in either as I change my phones more often than necessary lol, Have serious issues I know Get bored very quickly but am happy knowing WP7 will get even better with time as other OS have.

Guys I'm really torn between those 2 devices so please help me choose.
Samsung has the better screen and battery life but it's so ugly
The HTC is the most beautifull phone of all WP7 devices and the smaller 3.7 inch size doesn't really bother me....
BUT is the AMOLED display such a big + to buy a whole phone over it??
I read somewhere that the Mozart uses different kind if a display tech. (SLCD) so is it better than the LCD on the old HTCs?
Personally I think the Samsung looks great and the Mozart ugly.
Amoled screens seem to suit wp7 well because of the largely black backgrounds, but I prefer the sharpness of SLCD. Amoleds look fuzzy close up, but they have great contrast and saturated colours.
SLCD is very good and is sharper, the thing about the AMOLED that I love is the rendering of blacks.
I ended up getting the mozart because the sammy was so ugly and i hated the form factor. The SLCD screen is surprisingly good, the blacks are not as deep and viewing nagles not as good but its definitely not a big issue to me. In the right light and angle you can get the blacks to be almost as good as OLED, but really, unless I have an OLED screen right next to it I'm not conscious of the difference.
Personally I'm going to set my theme to white, so that negates the use of the AMOLED screen. Go with what you love - you want to feel good holding the device, sharing the device. If you can put up with blacks that aren't real deep and recharging your device 15 minutes earlier each day, then those are really not things to hold back for.
Can anyone say anything about the camera?
I stand between omina and mozart...
I want mozart with the 8mp camera, but is it better than the 5 mp camera in omnia?
Which one takes the best pictures and video?
Which one is the fastest (to take pictures)?
guys i have the same quandry... my story goes like this.
Had Mozart in my hand... set it all up, Zune installed on pc, the lot. Did what tunes i wanted and then low and behold, i had a call. yey! brilliant i thought... at least now i have a chance to hear the audio quality first hand... wasn't bad... problem was (and take into account this is a brand spanking new phone we're on about here), the caller couldn't hear me!!! great, so it's faulty... back it goes! this after 2 weeks of being messed about over a naffy slow Touch 3G... anyway, to cut a long story short, i'm still waiting on new stock from Orange, being called ona daily basis and now i see that the Omnia is 'better' but... in what way/s??? what are the main dif's that make it better? i see no variation in memory (i mean neither can accept an sd slot etc can it), the Qualcom chips are the same 1gig... both on moby 7... so... well can someone sum this up for me please cus if there's no real variety so to speak, when i get my call in the morning about 10am, i'll be telling them to wave bye bye to the Mozart and gimme the Sammy Omnia cus i'm basically fed up of being fobbed off and delayed... i want a handset to use that is NOT a Nokia 5300 Xpress Music!!! yes i'm having to use that thing!
So bottom line time folks... someone point me in the direction of one or the other please???
Many thanks in advance, TSS
It's a popular phone. I can't get a demo of the phone for love nor money. The Mozart is a winner because it's selling so well. I was thinking of getting one on contract with a dsi for next year when I go on holls . 8mp an 720p video Is a winner. I'd like a 16 gig version though. I have to void the warranty otherwise.

16gig... not according to what i saw o another thread where someone stripped the unit down and swapped the card for a class 0 (or was it class 6?) card mate. have a look round. it's on here somewhere!
Well, I got mine factory loaded with a 16 GB card - T-Mobile is the exclusive contractor in Germany for the HTC Mozart and ships them with a 16 GB SD card
So I guess you could look around and might find one which already got a 16 GB card - or just import one from Germany.
I definitely wouldn't void my warranty just yet - who knows what problems might arise in a few weeks (it's still a very new device and I'm already having some issues... so I'd rather have a warranty).
But those are just my thoughts.
I have had a Nexus One for a while and I'm quite pleased with its display, I just want to know overall how is the feel with Atrix comparing to Nexus One? Please just forget about Nexus S or Captivate or iPhone 4!
Also I want to know about the feel of the device, is it too cheap and plastic? I've used an HTC Legend for a while and feels great!
Sorry I posted in wrong place!
I haven't seen the Nexus One AMOLED in a while, but I bet it has better colors than any Moto display. This 'qHD' thing isn't too great. The pentile is alright because the pixels are so small, but the colors are muted and the color bit-depth isn't too great either (gradients look bad). Its a decent display though. The higher resolution really makes up for it.
The quality of the phone is excellent. I would give it an 8/10 (iP4 would be 9/10). Moto makes some of the physically highest quality devices. HTC is good too (particularly they're good at the little detail touches), but I've found their stuff not holding up over time. Moto has been around much longer than most phone makers so they know what they're doing in terms of hardware.
I'd really like to see a Nokia android phone though. Would probably be the best one since they kinda invented the cell phone. Unfortunately they went with WP7
OK I am not trying to be an Asshat, I have tried to be helpful on these boards. But for everyone saying an iPhone is better, please go purchase that and post on their forums.
Ok, build quality from N1 to Atrix....
Atrix is bigger (obviously) and I find it slippery. The build does not feel plasticky to me, probably because of the way the back cover grips around the edges of the Atrix.
Screens, I have not noticed the pentile as much with the Atrix. Yes likley due to the pixel size. And after everyones complaining about the colors, I find the screen vibrant and quite pleasing.
I think coming from the N1 you will find this phone faster with a nicer screen. A very nice upgrade to say the least.
Of course, I am a fan of the phone.
Coming from the Captivate, I am very pleased with the aesthetics of the phone. Comparatively, it feels just as sturdy as the Captivate did. The screen resolution makes up for the difference in display types between the two phones. The only real difference I see is when viewed from an angle, the Captivate looks better. I got a body glove case for both phones, and they feel very similar. I don't feel that the Atrix is any slicker than the Captivate. I worried about dropping the Captivate when I first got it. With out a case, I probably would have.
Hands down IMO, the Atrix is a better unit. Functionality is far superior and the GPS actually tracks flawlessly (Stationary and in motion) as it should. Add in the FFC, LED, dual cores, and flash, I am very happy with it. Now if only Motorola would release the access to the bootloader so that we can have some real fun with this thing, all would be right in the world (ok, almost).
Thanks, I think I got my answer...I will buy it when it arrives in Canada
Hi all. I am thinking about buying a Titan to replace my Focus but i haven't followed this phone too closely and i would love some input.
The Focus is a great size and Windows Phone is fantastic but it feels like a Samsung, meaning cheap and plastic. Also I would like a front facing camera.
Most of my phones have been HTC and I miss the quality feel of an HTC device. I'm concerned about the size of the device and whether it will fit well in my pocket. Spec wise it isn't much bigger than the HD2 but that doesn't always tell the whole story.
Anyway the reason for posting is to ask whether there are any known issues to be aware of, are there any model or versions to look for when buying second hand and is there a working unlock for this device?
Lastly has anyone made the move from the Focus to the Titan and if so what are your thoughts?
I think alot of people with the AT&T Titan is having issues. The only issue I have right now is that the WiFi randomly loses the connection so I gotta go into settings>wifi and just let it search, it finds the hotspot and automatically connects to it again. Annoying.
I have a Titan on AT&T, as does my girlfriend. We have had zero issues so far. Call quality could be a little better, but overall I have no complaints about the device. It definitely feels solid and quality built when handling it, and has a decent heft to it that you obviously don't get with plastic devices.
I'd say if you are looking to make the switch, go ahead and do it. From what I have experienced, it's a great device. I came from a GS2 on Sprint and the size of this phone actually does not bother me. I am 5'9" tall with "normal" sized hands and I can still perform all functions on this device with one hand.
I have the same experience: came from the Focus and haven't looked back. I don't have the connection issues many experience, but I agree that the call quality is horrible. I've never had so many people have trouble hearing me - it's almost unusable on speaker phone because nobody can understand me. Fortunately, I hate being on the phone.
Another thing is that my wife has dropped her Focus hundreds of times and it always breaks apart on impact with minimal damage. I don't drop my phone often, but I had the same experience with my Focus. Of course, when I was getting used to the size of my Titan, I did drop it once, just one day before my case arrived. Naturally, there was a huge gouge in the metal body. It's solid, but it's not as forgiving as the "cheap, plasticky" Focus.
Oh, so one other point: the Titan is huge, initially, but you get used to it really quickly. I laugh when people talk about how 4.7 is too big, and that it might as well be a tablet, that phones will start shrinking again. (http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/44717/nokia-big-screens-are-stupid) I'm not so sure...this phone, because of its thinness, is easy to get used to. It now feels "normal" size and my wife's Focus feels "dinky." ...and the Focus screen wasn't all that tiny either!
Here are some of my early gripes with the Titan, but it's pretty much outdated at this point, because I really have very few gripes anymore about this awesome phone. And at a penny (same price I paid on Black Friday), you canNOT go wrong.

Thanks. If the price is right I’ll probably pick one up.
One other thing I’m curious about. I started with WP7 using the original dft rom on an HD2 and I thought the screen response and especially the keyboard were outstanding. I’m less impressed with the responsiveness of the Focus. I’ve seen mixed comments about the Titan, anyone have current thoughts about this?

I think the screen of the Titan is a bit unresponsive/slow compared to my iPhone in terms of tracking the finger. iPhone tracks it 100% correct and fast while the Titan seem to either struggle or have a speed limit on the screen.

Is a penny the right price? ATT has it on sale again. I had a Focus. I moved to the Titan. I had all the issues mentioned, lol. I did all the fixes mentioned in this forum and I'm tickled pink. I gave my Focus to my girlfriend. Had my Titan since December. Yesterday my girlfriend wanted my to add something to her phone. When I grabbed the Focus, I couldn't believe how tiny it looked. I had trouble typing on the keyboard because the letters looked so small. Titan has ruined me! I can't get a smaller phone, lol.

ArtieQ, my experience with the iphone obviously differs from yours but ill take the point as "it could be better"
I went and played with a Titan today and i was pretty impressed with it until i changed it to the same green theme in had on the Focus. The colors were completely different. Ive always thought that the Focus was a bit much but in a direct comparison the Titan seems to go to the opposite extreme.

I went from the Arrive to the Titan. I haven't looked back. I'm 5'10" and comfort isn't an issue. I don't even notice the phone in my pocket (I never use a case except at work). I have had zero issues that most people express except for the occasional keyboard problem (minor issue compared to the text limit of the Arrive). Build quality is right on par from what I expect from HTC. No plastic feeling here. I agree with bennyj71, I'm amazed how tiny the wife's 4.3" phone seems after using this phone the last 4 months.

The only issues I ever had with my Titan are the WP7.5 ones with disappearing keyboard etc that the latest update has gotten rid of.
The handset feels great to hold and use and fits easier in your pocket than you might think, forget about any docking stations except the specific one though! I like the battery cover being one whole side of the phone too, makes it seem more solid.
The camera is really really good, useful having the front facing one too and to help with photos, the screen quality is miles better than my old phone the HTC HD7.
Literally the only thing I can think of that annoys me is that there aren't more theme colours!!!
In all it's a great phone to have and people although mocking, will actually be jealous of the screen size!
I love HTC hardware. It just feels so much better in your hand than Samsung was certainly no exception. It also seemed to perform very well.
The only thing that gives me pause is the washed out look of the screen. Some colors that are briaght and vibrant, and arguably over saturated, on the Focus were washed out and not even close to the same shade.
The only other consideration is how the Lumina 900 will compare. Assuming that it is well build I'm honestly more interested in the Nokia software but i have a long history with HTC.

Can't disagree with the build quality, but I do disagree about the screen. Nothing about it is washed out to me, and I also came from the Focus. I also have heard that the Focus S is even MORE saturated, and I've definitely come to prefer the Titans more realistic colors. More under "screen colors" here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1372056
Go and get the Titan. you won't be disappointed.

I currently have both. I sold my GS3 when I picked up the Lumia 920 fully knowing I was going to order a Nexus 4. My plan was to compare the 2 and decide which one I wanted to keep. I am in a bit of a struggle there. Would love input from others that Have/had both.
My opinions:
Lumia 920
Pros:
Screen - Much more vivid and bright, but not overly saturated like that of GS3 etc... Also SEEMS bigger due to on screen buttons of Nexus 4
Battery life - I wasn't even coming close to using up the battery in a day with the Lumia. WIth the Nexus I can make it through a day, but definitely not as good.
Feel - The Lumia feels very solid in your hands. The weight actually adds a good amount of feel to the phone as well, doesn't feel like a toy.
Camera - The camera on the Lumia is amazing (for a cell phone camera). Pictures are great quality and are taken with ease and fast.
OS - Windows Phone 8 is super smooth and does everything I need in a smartphone. It's newer to me, and so less boring.
Cons:
Apps - Very limited app selection. I knew this going in to WP8 and I honestly can't say it is missing anything I NEED, I guess this is more of a boredom filler thing.
No Dev - Again knew this coming in, and again a boredom filler more than anything
Nexus 4
Pros:
Dev - Not quite yet, but will have loads of custom tweaks/roms/etc to play with
App Selection - Not nearly as much as iOS but certainly more than WP8.
Call quality - I find the Nexus 4 to have AMAZING call quality (when it has a good signal)
OS - 4.2 on this phone is SUPER quick. No lag to speak of (for a change), but I do have to say I find Android kind of stale and old to me.
Cons:
Build Quality: While overall quality is great, phone feels solid, super light (debatable if that is a plus or not, I don't necessarily care for the toy feel) however the Phone has something that rattles when you shake it. Their is a constant buzz from the earpiece (can't be heard in call). The back is SUPER slippery, will slide off anything.
Signal - Overall signal is lower than the last 4-5 phones i have owned (based on signal at my house). Also when holding the phone in certain ways I can physically WATCH the signal drop down, then move my hand and watch it go back up.
Screen - Screen quality is fantastic, but the colors could use some life. I am not talking super saturated AMOLED style, but these are closer to HTC Dull IMO. The screen is just as usable in the sun test though, so it is bright!
Plenty more of each I will try to add when they come to mind, just wanted to post a few of my thoughts and see if anyone else had factors to add or their opinion (Please only post your opinion if you have had both phones to compare).
This is JUST my opinion. Please do not take my opinion on either phone as FACT or offensively. If you have a different opinion please share it (respectfully) and I am all ears. I am not posting this as a flame or to say either phone is bad or better than the other, in fact that is the decision I am stuck on. Both are AMAZING phones, so again please do not take either as a phone bash.

Sold my Nexus 4 about 3 minutes ago. The +'s to the Lumia in my opinion out weigh the +'s to the Nexus 4. The only real thing the Nexus 4 has over the Lumia is rom'ing/tweaking and I have just grown bored of it. I had the Nexus 4 for 4 days and used the phone maybe a total of 2 hours.
You won't be disappointed by the Lumia, amazing phone.

I'd get the S3
better battery than both and is is 99% as fast as the N4
I had nexus 4 for a week !! as soon as my 920 came, after 24 hours, sold my nexus 4, I mean android is great and will always have a soft spot for the nexus 4 especially, but the 920 is just, elegant and beautiful!!
i have the optimus g and an L920, i like having both, and the S4 pro is a beast SOC, i do find the lumia to still run smoother than the OG.
i love flashing and tweaking, which is why i'll probably always keep two phones on me (well, that and work) but for 95% of my daily use, wp8 is just more efficient and faster. hopefully msft can sort out their app compatibility issues and their cluster**** of xbox music, that would make wp8 just so much better.
the n4/OG did pleasantly surprise me with their build quality, i like the back cover design. the l920 though is one sexy phone in its own regard.
and as far as the GS3 and N4 are considered, the GS3 doesn't come close to the smoothness of the N4. plus pentile displays just flat out suck. and also, touchwiz is a pile of crap, not as bad as sense, but a pile of crap nonetheless.

I agree with the obnoxious vibrating motor. battery life however has been consistently awesome on my 920. Battery life on the N4 was pretty meh.
I have no doubt I will grow bored of The 920, but that is irrelevant because that will happen no matter what phone I have. I will still buy the next shiny new phone that catches my eye

S3 is a fantastic phone, that is what I had before my N4and 920. It is definitely better than the N4 is many ways, pretty much all expect development/100% functional AOSP imo.
Only reason I still don't have my S3 is the unstable WiFi hotspot.
everything else is gravy on the S3

I'm super surprised how interested people are getting in Windows phone 8. Which is a good thing, I just think for me personally I'll wait for the app development to get a little better. No real YouTube app, can't use ad away which I really enjoy, Pandora, waze and more. Do I need them? No, it's a phone, but imho why compromise when I have all of that now. And the apps I purchase I've found a lot more expensive. I got plants vs zombies on Amazon app store for free, but on Windows phone it's 5 bucks. The biggest bummer for me was the day light time photos. Just like the over hyped 900 camera I felt duped. People are posting very impressive photos on wpcentral but that's after using custom picture settings, uploading to skydive, downloading to pc, and editing on Photoshop or the like. I just want a decent point and shoot, which my HTC one x actually provides sharper day time photos, and consistently.
Sorry for the long post, I'm bored.

I find it very interesting how many Android users are very curious about Windows Phone 8! I can't really say the same about iPhone users. Being a Android user for 2 years, I moved to IOS, big mistake, back to Android I went, so going to Windows phone 8 was a huge jump and risk. But it is just so nice how everything looks so tidy and near, with the ability to resize tiles and use colours.
it's almost like a mid point, you have IOS which is pretty much static, you can only move around the icons and place in folders, then you have Windows Phone 8, where you can change colours and resize the tiles, then you have Android where pretty much anything is "customizable". It just fits my life perfectly, just need to wait for more decent apps now.
gah, my head is spinning as my nexus 4 just shipped. I've always loved nexus devices in a very special way. The device looks amazing and dare i saw it LOOKs better than the lumia even though i don't have it in hand yet. Lack of LTE will be the major question. And being the fact i have a nexus 7, will i be bored of two AOSP devices at once.

has the Nexus 4 for about 2 days, it would have been a great phone expect for some issues that were a no-go for me :
1. no LTE speed
2. the buzzing soud on the speaker - i really can't imagine how quality control missed that
3. still some bugs in the OS (one particular issue is while on a call, i have another call coming and the screen wont turn on so i can accept the other or even see who it is).
currently have the HTX 8X and the Lumia 920 for about 2 weeks. the only advantage i see in the 8X in the perfect size and weight, but all the extras from Nokia put the 920 way on top.
Have 920, 8x and nexus 4. To be honest i am not a great app person. All i need is flixster, a news reader (flipboard) and my music. My car comes with in-built navigation and maps. Yes maps!!! I find myself using the 920 more to the point wee i am selling my 8x. The nexus 4 is just for variety but the wow factor has worn out. I got the phone the first day it was released on play.
I would recommend the 920 over both devices. Just my opinion.

Just thought id share my thoughts on my new Rogers 920 that I picked up unlocked through Negri.
First off ill commend Negri, I preordered the Rogers edition in early November and waited patiently for it to be shipped. I finally got it yesterday. Negri anwsered all of my questions quickly and anytime I called I got a kinda easily understood person. 5 Stars for sure.
Now onto the phone, I am coming from an HTC HD7 just an FYI. This is a solid phone. My HD7 was flimsy without the otterbox case I had, but this 920, I don't have a worry at all. I got a matte black 920 and it is a very slippery phone, the screen in particular. When I first started typing I was making all kinds of mistakes because of how slick the screen is. But there is a benefit to this, the screen doesn't attract fingerprints very much at all. The screen is also very very very bright outside in the sun. The buttons beneath the screen are off white, its very noticeable, but nothing you wont get used to. The battery life so far is fantastic. I live in an area where you drop in and out of service all day and I can tell this battery will last a long time with constant service. Data speeds on T-mobile are around 6.5Mbps, fine for me. The camera has a slight rattle to it but the pictures and video it takes are amazing. The pictures in daytime are a little fuzzy (Portico is installing right now).
TL;DR:
Pro:
Fast
Great Video
Solid build
Great Screen brightness outside
Battery Life
Con:
Slick Screen
No SD card
and use Negri, definitely my go to for phones now.
