Hey guys, did anyone know how to use xbox 360 controller with our great phone? I'm using cm9 and can't get it to work. I've been looking for it for some time, but can't get straight ansowers.
If someone knows how to do it please reply. I've tried usb host controller but it gives me message that S3C driver was not found. So can we somehow apply this "driver"?
Thanks in advance.
Have you ever tryed with other controllers? like ps3 or something like that.
I think you should look for another solution..
You may have better luck asking in the CM9 discussion thread. Sounds like an issue with the USB driver in CM9, maybe.
Afaik ps3 cobtroller world ootb. Ill ask cm9 devs, but I dont expect ansowers Since they are busy

I uses a generic PS3 looking wires remote before to play games like N64oid and other cool games.
I used an app called USB/BT Joycenter that I paid for to be able to play and it worked!
But not anymore! Anybody else noticed this?

I have the same kind of problem. Since the upgrade to .21 the USB port is not working at all.
I cannot connect any USB device.
I have another Prime that is still on .15 and with that one there is no issue with the USB port.

Hello, I have been wanting to connect my Xbox 360 controler to my unrooted Gingerbread Note i717 and wanted to know how or if its possibe.
Thanks,
Soggy
i dont think it will work on gingerbread but if you update to leaked ics and install usb/bt joystick center app you can pair a wired or wireless controller. there is a free test app you can try first but says need 3.0 or higher with host support.
Thanks friend.... im not wanting to rood and install ics on this phone, i will have to wait for the official ics to come out or if anyone else has an idea chime in...
Thanks,
Soggy
It'll work with a ps3 controller if you have one laying around

How can i connect it to a ps3 controller? Thanks!
Did you ever think somone would have more than one phone.... Not to be an ass but why does someone always chime in with a stupid question that has nothing to do with the topic. Yes, i have a rooted captivate and a rooted htc inspire but the question is for my non rooted i717 DOES THAT MAKE SENCE?
http://www.androidnz.net/2011/11/samsung-galaxy-note-connectivity.html this is a good video that shows a ps3 controller(generic) running on note natively. game play starts at 8:17 if you want to jump straight to it. you should just be able to pair using bluetooth. i have not tried yet with note. i had to use sixaxis app for it to work on my epic but i dont think you need it for note.
Thank you s89281b for the link and info i will watch it.... much appreciated!
Thanks,
Soggy
My apologies for taking this off topic. Look up sence in the urban dictionary that's some funny stuff.

I just saw this on Reddit; might be old news to some, but this is the first I've heard about it. Apparently there is a $1.38 (on Amazon.com) cable that allows you to connect various USB devices, and if the device supports USB OTG, you can run flash or powered hard (not portable) drives, keyboards, mice, or even a hub to use more than one. If the device doesn't, it can be added with root, or included in a ROM. I'm not a developer. I'm not even a programmer, so I don't have the first idea on how this could be done. But a Bluetooth keyboard is around $80, and this will allow a $10 keyboard to be used, or a $10 mouse, for a cost of about $12 for one, $22 for both, plus whatever a hub goes for. So having USB OTG could save some folks a lot of money. Plus if they want to use a USB controller for gaming, they can save the cost of a PS3 controller entirely (about $40).

Please use the search feature. This is not a development topic because support already exists. I detail everything necessary for USB OTG on the Photon in the link below.

After reading my response and the subsequent responses, I realize that it probably came off flame-ish. My apologies. It wasn't so much the topic as it was posted in the dev forum. They frown on that, unfortunately.
I am open to questions if you have any regarding USB OTG. I had to mess around with various USB configurations until I found the right connections. When it works, it just works. But figuring it out from a Youtube video in another language made me want to write a guide. I hope it helps.
Good luck!
Well, I have a USB OTG cable coming at some point in the next week. I only paid 90¢ for it on Amazon, so it's not a huge loss if it doesn't work. I will consult your guide when I get it, if it doesn't just work. Obviously I'm gonna hook it up and try it as soon as I get the package.
I have two devices intended for it -- a 10" mini keyboard I got on Newegg for $15 (shipped). If I can't get this to work at all (and I'm sure I will be able to), I can use the keyboard for our bedroom computer, which has a half-broken, dirty, unwieldy "ergonomic" keyboard hooked up to it (and toss that one). Also a wired Xbox 360 controller, for mobile gaming.

The Chainfire program should be able to step you through the diagnostics of it. The biggest trick is getting enough power supplied to the phone plus the devices.

Any device that fully implements the standard USB HID protocol should just plug and play. A wired XBOX 360 controller should work, as well as the keyboard... as long as they don't require proprietary software/drivers to operate properly.
For my gaming solution, I went with the Sixaxis drivers for pairing with a PS3 controller through Bluetooth. That was pretty neat and it works. As far as keyboards, I have a wireless Logitech K400 with a touchpad which is fully functional. Using the one USB dongle which uses Logitech's 'Unifying' technology, I also have a Logitech M570 trackball mouse. So essentially, I carry a pocket-sized computer with me everywhere I go. Who needs a laptop?
Self-Powered USB Hubs work great with this setup, you can have multiple devices and Android (being based on Linux) will handle it as long as the kernel has the drivers built in. I've been having trouble trying to get external storage to work under CM7, but I also haven't been working to figure that out.

Hello everyone on the xdadevelopers. As always before posting here; I rummage around the internet in hope of answers from any source I can. Sadly, I've not been successful in my quest and now will turn to the minds of you wonderful developers who have taught me alot already.
To cut a long story short, I'd like to play ROM's on my emulators with my NEO Controller by Subsonic. I opted for the NEO as it seems a fair bit larger than the PS3's toothpick sized controllers (to me anyway).
Does anyone know of any way I could achieve syncing this controller to my Galaxy S2 as I'm at my wit's and technological know-how end.
I'm open to all suggestions and am more than happy to donate to whomever can find me an answer and get this sodding thing working!
Thanks in advance to any and all suggestions.

have you tried the sixaxis controller off the play store.
i used it to use my ps3 pad on my phone for roms. you need the sixaxis controller from the market and and the paring tool for pc/mac to change the bluetooth and adress of the pad to the same as the phone.

SixAxis requires your phone to be rooted. Do you have root?
Also, it states in the play store entry that it works best with OEM PS3 controllers, not 3rd party controllers.
And what exact model of GS2 do you have?

Yep, my phone is rooted, I'm currently on Simplistic ROM which is a samsung based ROM I believe. I've also tried it on Cyanogenmod10 ROMs and MIUI to no joy.
I have the unbranded international S2 on the Orange UK network. I believe the orange branded is the i9100G or is it the i9100P? Can't remember which. But mine is the bog standard Galaxy S2, no Orange branding or software to the phone originally.

Well, you also state you're using NEO Controller by Subsonic controllers? As I said above, the SixAxis controller app is stated to work best with OEM PS3 controllers - i.e. controllers actually made by Sony intended for the PS3.
So... if you were trying to use the SixAxis app with the NEO controller, that's probably why it didn't work.
Sorry I can't help further - I use SixAxis with an official PS3 controller, which works fine for my needs.
Maybe try "USB/BT Joystick Center 6" or "Bluez IME" from the Play Store?
Hi,
Sorry if this post has already been done. I am new to this site and I couldn't find the answers.
Can anyone help with makes and models of compatible bluetooth gamepads and other bluetooth input methods?
I have only had the phone a few weeks and I have read lots of different things saying there are problems with certain devices (dualshock 3, dualshock 4, xbox 360)
Dualshock pairs with the phone, no problem but does nothing.
I contacted LG, and their respone is that because the phone works with my smartwatch, then there is obviously no problem as far as they are concerned!?!
I informed them that every other phone I had works with bluetooth controllers.
If anyone has any advice or can confirm working devices I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance, and sorry again if already a post for this...

I have not experienced any problems with game controllers, download Sixaxis from the play store to use your Dual shock 3 or 4 controller, I have the dualshock 3 and it works with no problems.
Hi, thank you for your suggestion. Much appreciated, but sadly I get this error when I try the sixaxis comparability app...
Attempting connection method 1...
Driver Starting...
Could not start driver. Check that your device is rooted.

As the error suggests your device needs to be rooted, you can find the guide for rooting your device in the guide section of these forums.
Thanks for the reply again.
I don't know if I'm brave enough to root the phone just yet as I have only had it for 2 weeks. (Warranty)
I will hopefully track down an alternative method, hopefully someone will come up with some options for working controllers... Or even better, LG get it sorted
