Is there a way to set up shortcuts to link to different home screens?
Say, for example, that I have music widgets on my last home screen. Rather than swiping through all the screens, or previewing them and choosing, is there a way to create a shortcut on my main home screen that I can press to have it jump directly to the screen with the music widgets?
Yes, download adw launcher, when installed, long press home screen, choose option to add 5 shortcuts to five screens.i know only these way.or maybee to modify some codes and transform the home screen dot indicators in button links.

Thanks!
Unfortunately, ADW doesn't allow me to do other things that are essential, so I guess I'll just have to forget about the luxury of linking to other screens. Unless you know how to get the dock horizontal in the latest version and get rid of that menu button in the top corner...

How to arrange icons on the OS, where i had installed apps the uninstalled them i have like 3-4 pages with like 5-6 icons to a page. With a different Launcher its auto sorts icons. Anything we can do to fix this i cant come across any other method than manually sorting them page after page.?!
Thanks, Xenon.

Do you mean on your home screens? Just long press on any icon, hold and drag into position.
Not sure if any launcher does auto-arranging on the home screen, does not seem to be possible with stock or ADW at least.
In the app drawer you're totally right. It irritated me to.
At the moment it seems the only way is to manually sort them [Menu>Edit]
I've only had the phone a few days, and accidentally deleted the long 4x1 Accuweather widget that's on the homescreen (it normally sits right underneath the clock on the homescreen).
I've gone to add new widget, but the Accuweather widget listed there is only 2x1. Does anyone know how I can get the long one back again that stretches all the way across the screen? I did a search on these forums but couldn't find anything..
Thanks!
You can only resize it on touchwiz launcher. You have to add widget then hold it down (make sure u have space)
If your using a different launcher and try resizing it, it wont work. It will become overstretched

Same here, only option is 2x1, no amount of long pressing the widget will give any other size, even on an empty homescreen

Make sure it's moved over to the left when you hold then release it - it should give you a resizing handle.

ok, just press and hold, until you feel the haptic feedback, then let go(dont slide it/move it, just press/hold/let go).
if you have space on the screen it will give you the available options on screen. yellow boxes. then you just move the silver triangle(bottom right corner)
Thanks again but no go. When I press and hold till the haptic feedback nothing appears on the home screen, I only get a white 2x1 location box when I press and slide on to the home screen and that white box doesn't have any drag points...i'll live with it, Beautiful Widget is not so bad!
Maybe its the version, I lost my two favourite stock wallpapers during the upgrade from odd to ke7

I'm able to change the wallpaper on my homescreens, but how do I change the lockscreen wallpaper?
And is it possible to replace the clock on my lockscreen with another one? How?
Settings>screen>screen display for the lockscreen wallpaper. Can't help with the clock.

Found it, but the wallpaper is still the same even if i'm changing it. Don't get it, I pressed the save button.
I usually clear the defaults and go back to the touch wiz launcher... You can change it there then save ADW as main home again.

Thanks for answering. I switched back to touchwiz and pressed the + icon. on my homescreen. Went to background, picked gallery and lock screen wallpaper. Found the pic file and cropped it. Pressed the save button in the upper right corner. But the lockscreen wallpaper is still the same, I'm not able to change it.
Any answers thus far?
I too am trying to find this answer......
I usually go to Galleries, or QuickPic, open up the desired picture, and set is as lockscreen.

Funny thing is, that is what I usually did before.
But for some reason, that option is no longer there......
When I go into QuickPic and choose the picture, only gives me an option to use for wallpaper (dont even get me started on trying to find a wallpaper that fits).
So I am using Multi Live Wallpaper for my home screen, but can't find how to change the lock screen.
When I do change the lock screen through MultiLive it lets me do it.
But when I turn off and on the same old lockscreen is still there.......and actually, when I push the power button there is a very fast flicker of the lockscreen wallpaper that I chose, but then just goes to the stock screen.
The x10 mini pro has a "two-level" home screen:
the "top" hold the clock, and widgets.
the "bottom" holds the application icons.
Since there are many applications installed, the home screen extends beyond the screen width, which results in "windows", and so it is necessary to scroll left and right to see all the different "windows" and the icons they contain. When pressing the "home" button, the phone will bring up the last viewed "window" of the home screen.
Is there a way to make the "home" button always show the first (left most) "window" of the bottom home screen, namely, the left most window of the icons?.
TIA,
Mike.
In a way, yes...and in a way, no.
The screen(s) with all your apps in is known as the "app drawer". The stock launcher for the X10 Mini Pro will always do what you say, it will always go to the last viewed page of the drawer when you open it.
In theory, you could dig deep into the code of the SemcHome app and make it do what you want. I've no idea what you'd need to do, but it's theoretically possible.
The easiest way is probably just to install a different launcher. Have a look on the Market. I'm using Go Launcher Ex which does the same thing but it does let me put more app icons on one screen (I've got 16 instead of the stock launcher's 9) and you can group apps into individual folders. Or you can just hide the ones you don't need.
So this won't do exactly what you asked for, but it might give you a decent alternative.
Thanks.
Is it possible to place applications and shortcuts icons on the "top" home screen, say in the same screen as the clock?.
Thanks,
Mike
Yes, bascially. Although, again, you'll still need a different launcher for this.
A lot of phones will let you do this from stock but, because ours has a smaller screen, we can only put stuff into the four corners. Download a new launcher and you can cover your screen with app's and shortcuts as much as you want!
You can add shortcuts to the homescreen by long holding an App in the app draw and dragging away from its location to the Homescreen
Thanks all for replying.
ryant: The long press and drag method isn't working on my x10MP with android 2.1 .
I can move the app icon around in the app drawer (left and right screens), but not "up" to where the clock and other widgets live. Have you tried this on an x10MP with a stock launcher?.
Also, I've now found the "multicon" app which allows to place multiple widgets on screen, which is a good enough solution for me.
I am wondering, on this phone when you have no icons on your desktop it displays a "Tap + to customize this screen" message that wont go away. Is there any way to remove this message or just overlay something that is transparent so that I just have a clean desktop? Would prefer not to root.
Its just an icon. Long press on it and drag it the x

I have tried that and it doesn't pick it up, it opens up the customize screen just as if you hit the plus in the right corner.
This is how the stock home app is. Only way to get rid of it is to put a widget (even a transparent widget) or to modify the apk. I recommend you just use a third party launcher. The stock home one is crap anyway.
Nova launcher works well
