Hey guys can someone please help me asap,
I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 with VODAFONE AUSTRALIA
Like a stooge even though I didnt really know what i was doing I tried to put on ICS on my phone and replaced the PHONE, PDA, BOOTLOADER AND CSC files on my phone using odin 1.8 and i really hate my phone right now it barely works, I have been on the net and mainly this forum all day but all the links/downloads arent working, can somebody please tell me where i can download the stock firmware/kernel whatever it is called for my phone with Vodafone Australia, thank you so much in advance, thanks.
download from http://www.samfirmware.com/
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9100&r=4#regiona
At the risk of repeating myself for the 8,921,764th time...If you want the original stock firmware that came with the phone, search Samfirmware.com & follow whatever instructions they have for firmware downloaded from their site.
If you're happy with the latest stock firmware (which might be the same as the firmware which was on the phone when you bought it), get the PC version of Checkfus (search for it on here/Google). This will enable you to download the latest firmware available for your phone model/country/carrier that you'd normally get via OTA update with Kies. If you do choose this, flash the firmware package you download following the instructions here.

nope never under estimate the power of asking a question than searching for 10 mins. lol
write 100 guides and one will still ask some basic question!

Click firmware, choose type, then os, then model, then region. Then click download on the one you want on the list that appears.
EDIT: you DO have to be registered on the site to download... Maybe this is what is popping up?

Hello,
can someone please tell me where I can download stock rom for Samsung Galaxy S2 XWKF3?
Hidsver and product code is
HIDSWVER: I9100XWKF3/I9100OXFKE1/I9100XXKE7/I9100XWKF3
Product code: GT-I9100LKASMO
I would like to flash it back to original as bought since services here in Serbia are ridiculously picky when it comes to warranty on products and due to my own stupidity I have deleted nandroid backup...
Before sending me to Intratech thread, I have already look there and that rom was on multiupload which is currently dead so I cant get it from there
Thanks in advance

Hey, everyone needs a good laugh. don't be a sour noob.
First of all do you have Odin? Did you read Intratech's Odin thread? Did you even go to his thread? If not, read up here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278&highlight=stock+firmware
If links don't work for ROMs (I suggest downloading LA4 if you want Gingerbread, best Gingerbread ROM out there) then google the firmware name and look for a mirror. Ever since the whole download site crackdown, it's been hard to keep good mirrors, which is why you have so many dead links.
BATMAN-- OUT!
I have odin and i have looked at Intratech's thread and have read it multiple times trying to figure it out but not helping..the more i read, the more confusing it gets...sorry for being a sour noob...just frustrated
I flashed the phone using odin the gingerbread rom and then when i was following Intratech's guide on rooting the phone, the program he has listed both freeze and stop responding

Install Samsung KIES on your PC, connect your phone via USB and open KIES. If there is an update for your firmware it will notifiy you.
You'll also be able to check manually by clicking on 'check for new firmware' or something to that affect on the main screen of KIES.
You won't be able to put on custom roms etc without root
Consider trying this also: On your phone, go to settings --> About Phone --> Software --> Update.
This should check for any latest updates for your phone, although i can't remember this option working for me though. KIES should be fine.

No modems are interchangeable and flash able to change via CWM or Odin .
LP8 is reputedly better than LP7 .
LP7 is nearly as good as 2.3.6 .

I was looking deeper than I needed to mate and to be honest, I got a little confused by kernal versions. I was nearly pulling what little hair Ive got left out. Thanks JJe, as long as I get rid of the 3 stuff on my new Galaxy S 2 then Im happy. I do plan to root but only once Ive gotten used to it and have done a little more research
Done, I now have a device with generic FW on it. Will root it tomorrow. That was surprisingly easy
Ive decided to root my phone. Theres quite a choice of rooting guides, which one is the best? I will need an easy to follow giud with everythng I need. Thanks in advance guys, hopefully someone will point me in the right direction

hi guys
i just upgraded to 4.0.3 and now want to downgrade to 2.3.6
i tried finding firmware here in official thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 but all links of indian firmwares are dead so i downloaded from samfirmware.com
my question is how to install file downloaded from samfirmware.com? i searched on that site but couldnt get any info regarding this
its currently in download stage
thank you
On the main page (www.samfirmware.com), the tab on the far right that says 'Flashguide'. Click on that, then smartphone, Android, GT-I9100. You'll need to register in order to download the instructions.
what is the files produced when u extract the zip file ??

i can see why here asked here instead of samfirmware, you have to wait 4 months for a reply there. and the firmware for galaxy s2 has been neglected on xda firmware page, probably all links are dead, the ones i have looked at are, when i asked about then only reply i got was flash cm9, i like 4.0 but it dont like me, we never get on so i want GB back, so be a little understanding when being asked we were all new once
THIS SHOULD HELP

Hi all. I would like to keep my stock firmware up to date on my rooted S3, but have a few questions about this. From what I can tell the easiest way to do this seems to be by downloading the newest firmware (say from SamMobile) and using Odin to push it to the phone (since I can't use OTA updates and Kies refuses to connect to my phone). What confuses me about the stock firmware for this phone are the different country/carrier codes. Do I need to be concerned with using one from a different country than me (I'm in the US), or are they just generic firmwares that can be used by any country? SamMobile shows a bunch of new firmwares for the S3 released in February but they all have different country/carriers, what's the point of this? Currently my phone is running baseband version I9300XXELL4 which doesn't seem to coincide with the US, which I guess is also part of what is confusing me.
Thanks for your help!

If the country/carrier codes do not matter then why are there so many different firmwares with the different countries?

Modem may or may not be better CSC has local area network settings .
Simple is that you flash a firmware and if you have network problems you try a diffrent modem .

I've checked my CSC and it comes up as unknown - is this an issue or does this need to get fixed before I update my firmware? My phone works fine right now. Also, how do you try a different "modem". Do you mean just flash a different version of the firmware?
Believe me I have checked every sticky in the I9300 forum and none of them explain the difference between the different stock firmwares. None of those links are helpful .

In that case not a clue do i have .
Suggestion is that you actually start at the beginning and learn .
Start by reading the unhelpful links which you have failed to bother to read .
The one about modems may be relevant or not .
XDA does not spoon-feed .

Wow, I come here to politely ask one question (essentially) and this is what I get. In case you have issues reading, read this: I have read every single sticky thread in its entirety (something it seems you haven't done, might I add) and none of them answer the question I am asking. I'm not asking you to "spoon feed" me and hold my hand through rooting my phone or how to use Odin (since all of that info is on sticky threads). I am simply asking what the difference is between stock firmwares that have different country codes. If you cannot answer that, please do not waste my time by responding to this thread. It would do you well to read my entire first post before giving me answers to questions I did not ask to begin with.
