Uncheck wipe data is enough to preservere data. Wipe cache should be rather enabled.

Hi all, i was on stock 4.0.2.A.0.62, flashed just as said in first post, unchecked wipe data and everything is just awsome, works like a charm for now.
I can't thank you enough for your instructions guys!
Just 2 questions:
1. How to take screenshot on ICS
2. There is no Sony Contact widget?
TNX a lot!

Please Answer

I have xperia x10 mini manufacturing date 10w40
Can i unlock my bootloader??
Please answer only if you are sure cause i dont wana brick my phone
Also tell me the easiest method to unlock my bootloader..
Or can i use any Rom on 2.3 without unlocking bootloader??
Yes you can, your manufacturing date is week 40 of 2010, the warnings only go out for manufacturing dates from week 29 in 2011.
The easiest way to unlock your bootloader is from the plugins-menu in flashtool.
You can still lose your radio-capability if your simlock-certificate is not recognised in S1Tool, but you can relock the bootloader with the Restore-button in S1Tool and your radio-capability SHOULD come back.
If you unlock your bootloader, boot the phone on stock firmware first and check for network connectivity, if your network is gone/sim not recognised, relock your bootloader. If everything works as it should you can go and flash custom kernels and roms.

Why?
I don't know... maybe you could post the output from the identify button in S1Tool and the output from flashtool when you get that error, maybe that tells me a bit more of what is going wrong

Thanks!! I did it with manual method and. . .BoOM bootloader is unlocked.!!
Please confirm the following things.
1.Currently i'm on Built No-2.0.A.0.504,can i flash latest Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6 with unlocked bootloader?
2.Will nAa kernel will work with the stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 firmware (i will flash stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 firmware and then nAa kernel because i want to use miniCM 7)
Give rating to miniCM7 x\5
If you still got network reception then you're ok
You could have flashed the 2.1.1.a.0.6 firmware with a locked bootloader too, so with an unlocked bootloader that shouldn't be a problem
You can flash the nAa-11 kernel for Gingerbread roms, but your phone won't boot, you have to go into CWM after flashing the kernel, and install MiniCM7 from your sd-card, so copy that first before you flash the Kernel.
Make sure you make a backup in CWM first,, then do a wipe data/factory-reset, wipe cache, go into advanced, wipe dalvik-cache, wipe battery stats, then back into the main menu and install zip from sd-card. select the MiniCM7 zip you copied and wait for it to finish.
Reboot your system, if it takes longer than 5 minutes to start up, press home and power buttons simultaneously, you'll get a restart, enter CWM again and do all the wipes again, it should work after that.

How is it not detected? by the phone itself?
Boot back into CWM and Wipe everything (wipe data/facotory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik-cache), and reboot see if that helps
In storage there is option to unmount SD card so phone is detecting SD card.
When i use Camera, gallery etc it says SD card not present
I tried factory reset,cache,delvic cache...but not working!!
but file manager like root explorer is working and sowing contents of SD card

Bricked my xperia U HELP!!

I've bricked my Sony Xperia U by installing the wrong kernel.. (a kernel for the N700)
i know its stupid etc etc, but it only gives me a green light when i plug it into my pc.. it goes in flashmode automatic.
So i still can acces flashmode and fastboot mode.. what can i do know?
ive also tried to run this 'UnbrickingXperia2011.zip' over my phone, also tried stock firmware and stuff. nothing will work
Maybe you've got a solution?
Sorry for my bad grammatics or something, i\'m kinda high
Thanks in advance

I've already tried that too. No errors blabla, but the phone didn't change
He says you should flash a kernel with CWM built in. After you've done this you can boot into recovery mode so you can flash any custom ROM you want.

I mean try fastboot of one of the working fxp boot.img.. It has recovery in the boot.img itself.

Ohh okay, so it also works even if you can't get your phone 'on' (i can only get Fastboot and Flashmode)
Recovery will work even when the phone won't boot (if there is a working kernel installed).
Like this?
And then?

I'm unable to view your attachments, but this is very easy. Just find yourself a kernel with CWM for your Xperia, then flash it using fastboot.
Start in recovery mode, find yourself a custom ROM for your Xperia and install it using CWM (recovery).

That's the kernel you need, if your phone model is ST25.
But please notice the following:
No USB connection in recovery whatsoever (no adb, no USB mount etc.)

This means you CAN'T put any ROM on your sd card, so the ROM should already be placed on the sd card in order to install.

What custom Rom is that in your screenshot?
Just get fxp 204 from here and fastboot only the boot.img which can be extracted from the zip file. It comes baked with cwm, you can use this to flash other roms.
I'm not sure about the cwm link you posted.

That's the right way. Use that command to install the kernel you linked, then boot into recovery to install the ROM that's already on your sd card using CWM (ROM must be in .zip format for CWM).

Use the following command to restart your phone in CWM:
fastboot reboot recovery

Then install your new custom ROM.
If you're not able to get this working, maybe you should continue trying when you're not high.

But the other guy says i already have a custom rom on it?

unable to flash kernels, firmware, phone travels back in time

Hello there xda comunity,
I am facing a big problem with my xperia p.
Running stock ROM, stock firmware 6.2.A.1.100, rooted my phone by doomlord method and ulocked bootloader not via flashtool, but via other flashtool provided in unlock guidance on official sony website.
everything was working fine until I installed One Power Guard and it totally messed up my phone. Apps started to force close randomly (contacts, album, messages, android.acore etc.) showing annoying popups every single second making me unable even to answer a phone call.
and here comes to problem. I was trying to restore to factory settings, but after a reboot, phone seems to recover into some point without any reason or my permission and everything is as it was before restart. Even if I uninstall some app or take a photo and I reboot, the app is back and photo nowhere.
I was trying to flash new kernel via flashtool, but it says TOO MANY BAD BLOCKS and end with a failure, so it seems like that particular partition is damaged somehow and I cant get over it. I managed to mount my internal storage, so I was able to see it as mass storage on my desktop pc and tried to format and repair bad sectors. Test outcome said, there is no problem. I was very surprised when I reboted phone, all data was still there, so no format really happened.
when I try to flash new firmware, everythings go ok until it comes to the point READING DEVICE INFORMATION. It stucks there for eternity.
I have installed all drivera provided with flashtool and I am able to smoothly go to fast boot mode or flashmode but it is all I can really do, because as I said I cant flash kernel, nor firmware.
So what am I supposed to do? Any help?

for FW
flashtool > bootmode chooser > flashmode
then I choose FW e.g. 6.2.A.1.100 Central Europe or 6.1.1.B1.54 Sony
I exclude TA and final verification and the result is always the same it stucks at READING DEVICE INFORMATION
for kernel
flashtool > bootmode chooser > fastboot mode
here I was trying both methods - Selecet kernel to HotBoot | Select kernel to flash, none of them works
I found myself unable to relock bootloader via flashtool
it says my device cannot be unlocked, but it already is unlocked and device can be unlocked as it says on service menu (right now it says bootloader unlocked = yes)
I think that I somehow messed up my partitions or deleted partition table....Is there some way to rebuilt device partitions, so I am able to flash again? The number of bad blocks (error when trying to flash kernel) is the exact number of all blocks on my sdcard.
I Think that rebuilding device partition table is the solution, but idk how.....

Then sorry bro i have no clue! i would like to say if u still have access to cwm; format everything in mounts and storage and make data/factory reset...
maybe someone else gonna give u more ideas...when u have troubles u flash ftf and everythings come back but u, u are deep into it!
i assume too the rom doesn t load...cuz u can still flash an ftf in zip file from cwm

display is ON during call (sk17i)

I had flashed my sk17 with LX11.0 but I want to restore my old version of rom (LX10.1). I did a restore of old rom (I had small problems to start recovery but I did flash of some old kernel and after that flash with kernel from 10.1 and recovery started) with restore from recovery.
what is problem? now my proximity and light sensors are not working. during call display is always ON and auto brightnes is not working. what should I do next? :cyclops:
Try wipe cache and dalvik cache. If it doesn't work, wipe /data too.
Gesendet von meinem Xperia Neo V mit Tapatalk 2
from recovery I wiped everything (cache, dalwik and data) and still no proximity and light sensor. after that I try to reflash kernel and the same thing is happening
is there some service menu for cyanogenmod? like sony one service menu just to check are sensors OK
I don't know, I'm not using restore option because I had problems with it in the past.
You can try to enable developer menu in Settings>About Phone>Tap several times on Build Number until you see You are developer and you will see new menu in settings, and try also stock ROM to see if problem persist there.

I/m trying to flash stock ISC because it must be done but flashtool refuses to flash Now I don't know what to do next?
Can you post the error? Maybe it's broken download? Check file size.
Are you in flash mode (green led), or can you actually get in flash mode? Have you selected wipe cache, system, etc.?
If you can get into fastboot try to flash boot.img then flash CM11 and check developer options and test sensors.
Check this tutorial in case you missed something. http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperi...V-MT11i-2-3-4-update-4-0-2-A-0-62/td-p/134345
P.S. I heard that it is no go with Windows 8.1. If you use that, try with 7 or Linux in VBox.
I had downloaded 3 tft (different stock roms) and everytime I got different error. laptop has windows8 but errors are the same on xp also.
I can flash legacyXperia11 but does it have service menu to test sensors?

I somehow skipped that post, sorry. Try using older version of flashtool, like 0.9.11 see here: https://unrestrict.li/flashtool
If its same result then try this:
1. extract ftf (in linux you will have extract option, in windows I think it will work if you change the extension ftf to zip, then extract)
2. go into the extracted folder with cmd
3. connect your phone to pc in fastboot mode
3. if you set the PATH for fastboot then just do "fastboot flash boot kernel.sin"
- if not, copy kernel.sin to your ./platform-tools folder and use the same command
write if you get an error

I don't think this would be a problem, but better check in your section for other stock roms.
