Hi,
i pulled the deskclock.apk file from CM5 for N1 zip (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623496) and installed it from the phone with no issues at all (extracted to pc, moved to phone, then launched from folder). however, i can't seem to change the settings -- i get a force close. same thing happens when i click on the music icon, but i assume its looking for the stock music player instead of TW music. that one doesn't concern me much.
do i need another app to configure? is it possible to manually edit a file?
i am unrooted, if that helps. (just waiting for samsung distribution of froyo this month...).
thanks!
I also get force close..
in case this helps someone else, i found that "Alarm Clock Plus V2" gives all the functionality and looks of the stock deskclock.apk, but actually works well (on the Vibrant) and has more functionality.

My guess is there is a dependency missing. Another app that deskclock uses. Try grabbing the Clock.apk from cm5 and try again.
Try going to market and look for Samsung. The galaxy version of the desk clock is there.

thanks guys. i think i'll stick with alarm clock plusV2 for now though -- does everything i want.
rel500, i downloaded that app before and, although i like it overall, the night mode is way too bright for me. it also doesn't seem to stay on while plugged in, which is a little annoying. thanks for the suggestion though.
The app is dependent upon the stock music apk that is on the CM builds, it is looking for that for the settings to be changed and also to open up the music player portion, you can set the alarm but that is it, unless you go to the hybrid build, which has the needed music player, or if you know what you are doing you can replace it yourself. But be aware that many of the touchwiz features are dependent upon each other. So know what your are doing before you break it.
Did they pull the desk clock from the market not showing up on mine
hi everyone. im new to android and my phone is galaxy 5 (obviously). i got a problem. when i installed or flashed to froyo, i cant seem to make apps run in the background. like im listenin to music and runnin opera MOBILE (more ram consuming one) it closes opera
.. what to do? it stops my downloads! btw whats the xda app for?
The xda App is just to get to your favorite fourms faster. As for the RAM problem. Try an app called Autokiller Memory Optimizer. hit menu and set a preset to aggressive. It will ask for Root Access. Allow and you should have a better RAM solution.
PM if you need anymore help,

I think u didn't understand.. I want it tp be open not close it. Can the app be made system persistant or sth? Like no background close on a special marked app?

well what I was thinking was the values in aggressive close apps that are empty and not in use (small system apps?). Also in processes (in memory app) if you find the app you want to stay open, long hold and hit lower oom value. It should keep the app into memory for a while.
hope it helps
So... It overrides the default taskman? Cuz this is the problem. After flashing this manager came with it and this s*** closes everything..literally. So will this app really help? I installed it before. Didn't work (i have root)
Hey i searched for this. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=683123
Will that rly work? And i mean better multitasking?
Bump.
.
You could try a MAD Team ROM with App2SD and swap partition.
Ok no help...
A friend of mine bought a Samsung Infuse, he hoped to get the same SGII version of the Email app. Is there something I'm suppose to do to get it working on another Samsung phone? I copied my deoxed version and copied over to his system/app and set the right permissions, it kinda works but it's all messed up. The buttons have weird stretched backgrounds and crashes here and there.
Is this app hard-coded to only work on the SGII?
Hey guys i just installed Resurrection Remix ics v1.0 PRO into my SG S2...is anyone else getting weird freezes for a few seconds during games and such??
And does anyone know a way to organize the application drawer manually without sorting??
Thanks.
1. Change kernel
2. What launcher are you using? It's possible sorting manually on TW Launcher, not on Nova or Apex.
I've been using this for some time now, the only issue I'm experiencing is that the phone freezez for 20 seconds when I try to delete a contact. Any ideas? Did I mess up kernel-wise?
Am using apex launcher....bah too bad...but i can live without manual organising xD

i dun get freazes when deleting contacts...just some incompatibility issues with accuweather and some other programs....everything else running great....
Does it force close after freezing? cus earlier when i used resurrection it used to freeze and force close. Its a problem related to the build.
Sometimes i get force close on some appls like skype and some games

Hello Professionals,
I already searched for my problem here but sadly found nothing useful....
A few days ago i wanted to change the lock screen wallpaper with the default gallery which is installed on android phones, And every time it wanted to change the wallpaper, screen goes black and says: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working.
I also tired to change my home screen wallpaper and same problem... So screen goes black ONLY when i wanted to change wallpaper, hadn't any problem with viewing pictures.
The first thing i did was downloading a program called Image 2 Wallpaper and it worked fine. I tried to solve Gallery problem with Clearing cache and stuff but no lucks, i unmounted the SD card and rebooting the phone but still nothing.
I searched a bit and found Gallery3D.apk and replaced it with the original version in /system/app/ and set the permission with root explorer and rebooted the phone and BAMMM, gallery was completely dead and even i couldn't open it up cuz of Black screen and this ****: Unfortunately, Gallery has stopped working (my problem was with changing the wallpaper but it was dead now)
I also tried to delete both of Gallery3D.odex and Gallery3D.apk and replaced them with other files which i found in internet but none of them worked, still black screen . I'm using Android 4.0.3 with KH3 (because i saw one guy in XDA said android 4.0.3 with KH3 are the best for Galaxy s2 and it will reduce the battery draining)
I tried to use other programs like 3D Gallery Pro and QuickPic but didn't like them
I'm not able to factory reset my phone cuz of stuff and can't use USB for upgrading or downgrading the software version, So if there is any other ways, for love of god let me know.
lol, look what i've found:
I think I've found the culprit behind this error and all other similar errors reported. This is happening when "Force GPU rendering" under "Settings->Developer Options" is checked. Once "Force GPU rendering" check box is unchecked force close issues dissappear.
He is right, Force GPU rendering was checked for me, btw i deleted the gallery3d.apk and gallery3d.odex, Can anyone upload them for me please? (as i said im on android 4.0.3 with KH3)

UPDATE=>
Ok guys, i found the Gallery3D.apk and Gallery3D.odex from a chinese site, and i moved them to system/app via root explorer and set the permission, But it doesn't appear in my application list after reboot... What am i doing wrong ?

(great !!!!!! Its completely missing from Application Manager !)
