I just flashed cm7 last night and noticed today when I got a few txt messages, I use handcent btw, I get no led lighting up to let me know I have a txt. The gmail app flashes an led at the top, I checked all my settings on handcent and the led notifications flash. Any suggestions???

Anyone able to get Hancent SMS LED Notifications to work? It works with GoSMS but I can't seem to get it to work with Handcent.
Go to: Notification settings ---> Notification settings ---> LED flash frequency and set Normal, it works for me

I have just installed Chomp SMS on my samsung s2 running andyx v12 rom, its my first time using a different sms app and i do really like chomp a lot and would like to keep it, on my phone i have 2 issues though.
1. in the notifications settings i have notifications ticked and i have vibrate set to always vibrate. The problem i am having is when i get a text, i get the status bar notification but my phone doesnt vibrate at all which i have always relied on a lot when at work etc..
2. also in the notification settings there an option for screen comes on which i have ticked, it says that if the phone is off, it will come alive breifly when i get a text, but my phone isnt doing that either.
When i used the stock sms all these things worked, i have turned notifications off on my stock sms as i had read this was best so you dont get 2 notifications.
in my system settings vibrate is also set to on for notifications etc..
does anyone know what could be the issue, or are my above questions actually just the way chomp works?
thanks
james
The solution is real pathetic but working for me.. for SMS only
Install GO SMS Pro & enable two things..!
1. Screen On.. when receive a notification
2. Uncheck the "Disable other message notification" in Receive Settings
by this u will receive two notifications,, in statusbar i.e of GO SMS pro and Stock App ... but there will be LED blink
i am still trying different things.. but the above pocedure do give the LED Notification on SMS
so i'm a hancent fan... i like the lockscreen pop up messages for new incoming text messages. i usually reply from them as well.
when doing that on the inc4g i've noticed the notification led continues to blink at me like i have an unread message. i'm assuming i can turn off the led notification completely in handcent (i do not want to do that)... or wait for the handcent devs to fix this?
I use handcent as well. I do not have that issue. Did you turn off all notifications in the stock app? Uncheck them before unchecking notifications

I don't think it's a Handcent issue. I use GoSMS and I'm seeing the same issue, although it seems to be sporadic.
All notifications from the stock messaging app are turned off.

I've notified it doing it sometimes with Chomp too. Pulling the notification bar down turns off the LED for me.
yes, opening the notification bar clears it - which defeats the time savings of replying from the popup on the lock screen
i also have turned off the stock notifications.
thanks - at least it's nice to see i'm not the only one with this issue...
speaking of notification bar - on my old inc i always hit the menu button, then notification instead of dragging the bar down from the top of the screen. does anyone know of a way to make a shortcut or something on the inc4g? only way i can find to open the notification bar is to actually drag it from the top of the screen.... is there any other way?
It's included in Viper Rom, but you'll need root to change that.
I have a Galaxy Nexus, running AOKP. I disabled the stock Calendar app and downloaded the "newer" stock one via the Play Store. One issue I've run into with this new one, though, is that it makes the notification light blink when I have a notification for the next event on my calendar. I always liked to leave those notifications hanging up in my notification bar, because it helps me remember that I have to do something soon, but I don't like the LED blinking all the time just because I have one of those sitting in my notification bar. The LED never blinked in the original stock app...
I've looked through the settings of the app, itself, and all I can find is a setting to turn off notifications altogether, but doing so means I don't get the little reminders up in my notification bar. Did I not see the right setting, or is there no setting to turn off the LED?
What's kind of annoying, too, is that the LED notification for these reminders seems to "override" that of other notifications. For instance, I have it set up in AOKP to blink different colors when I get notifications from certain apps, but the color for the calendar notification seems to take precedence over the LED for everything else.
Any other suggestions, or am I out of luck?
