Hi,
I've upgraded my Samsung Galaxy Ace to 2.3.6 but after doing it my Wifi got disconnected every after 2-3 mins for 4-5 seconds, I have reinstalled the driver as well but it doesn't work, please help in this matter...!!
Thanks,
Swapneal
maybe downgrade to your old firmware and reflash the new will help
or just enter recovery mode (when phone is off, Home-Button + Power-Button) and wipe data + wipe cache (but then all your apps and setups are gone, so make a backup of them using Titanium Backup, but root is required)
hope this will help u, dude
Reflash the official way, that should help

faced the same issue, couldnt find any solution anywhere so did the following and it worked (screengrab below)
i hope you have CWM installed
My Model: Samsung Galaxy S Gt-i9000
Version: 2.3.6
Make sure your Wifi is on and Notify on available connection is ticked
Goto Recovery mode and wipe Dalvik Cache, no need to wipe anything else
reboot device, when the device starts your WiFi should be connected for good although in my case it shows as follows

Update: Just discovered another method... for All Dlink users out there do this and you wont have an issue with WiFi with 2.3.6 update
Login to your Router
GoTo Advanced> Network Filter and from the dropdown menu select "Turn MAC Filtering on and ALLOW computers listed to access the network"
save the settings
Voila!!
and by using this option my WiFi connectivity has become super fast
It happens to me too. Have you fixed it?
Login on your router, go to DHCP settings and find the item called "leasing time".
The default value of the "Leasing time" is usually "Forever" and this is the bug with Android 2.3.6
Change the value of the "Leasing time" from "Forever" to any other value (e.g. "Two weeks").

Hello, I have a HP Touchpad 32GB running with Cyanogen Alpha3.
Yesterday i set up a locked home screen with a pin.
But if my TP locked the screen there is no field and no pattern to put in a pin?
How can I fix these problem.
I reflash alpha 3 but the problem is still there.
Thanks for help.
Have you got ADB set up for your touchpad?
No, do you have a how to do, for that ?
ADB Install help:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
How to unlock your device using ADB:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971768
Then you can play with the lockscreen settings till you get the settings for CM7 right.
EDIT: The above links only allow you to unlock if you have the above problem, it won't help you fix this problem if this is a CM7 bug, but you can try.
But I am not sure is USB Debugging is on.
Or can I reset my TP to factory settings ?
If you didnt turn it off, its on by default, look for a bug in the notifications to verify it.
Reset, I'm not sure. When you reflash, it maintains the previous settings?
Side note: It is good to have ADB installed, it is mandatory for a device like TouchPad which needs developers loving
Ok, than I will try it after work,
But there is a symbol on my notification bar, look like a oval, a horizontal line and a horizontal wave line and a red 4 on the corner.

Can I make a backup with cwm, than reset to Factory.
Reboot and than restore with cwm. Or if I restore all with cwm than I have the same set up ?
With the same Problem ?
Or it is possible to restore only my apps ?
Backup apps + data using titanium backup after applying the above method. Don't back up restore with CWM cause you will still be locked out of your TouchPad like now
Now your priority is on getting into ur device to disable the lock or tweak the settings to perfection

But if my USB Debugging is off, than I have no chance with adb ?
Yup you will not be able to use.

Hi, please help.
I don't understand why in Setting -> Battery "Android System" is on 35%, I tried factory reset, disable all sync and notifications. Guess what, nothing helps.
Thank you!
Depends what you did to your phone, you didn't say how far from stock it is so no can help.

I answered this question a few weeks ago.
I remember having this issue a few months back, go into your settings and go to battery. Is "Android OS" or "Android System" at the top or very close? If it is then the reason was (in my case) the device couldn't go into deep sleep mode which should happen when you lock your device, this means that instead of nearly shutting down and only having the data connection on (maybe wifi aswell), the device was running the same as before you hit the power button, the only difference is that the screen is off. There are different reasons for this happening but for my device it was a kernel issue, this means that these steps may not work for you, because like i said, this issue is different every time.
All i had to do to fix this issue was flash a new kernel, i chose the googy max kernel 1.7.9 for CWM, which is a continued development of the siyah kernel, after the developer abandoned it. forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2270158
You just have to flash it the same way you did Cyanogenmod, go into CWM (or another custom recovery) and flash it to the device.
I still have a problem and I don't understand why...
I can't use phone because it's draining battery to much.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2323847 I used this steps and didn't help, only I didn't understand what mean Flash ICS bootloader, but my counter is on zero.
I use XEH XXEMG4 4.1.2 software, can I try XXEMG4 software but from other country maybe?

Had the same problem. Factory reset didn't help. Solved by doing the following:
Installed PC Companion, went into "Support zone", chose "Phone/Tablet Software update", -> "repair my phone/tablet"
That reflashed the current software and did a factory reset. Wifi works now.

I use sony update sw to flash again, that will work
I had an Xperia U to repair.
failure: continuous reboot at startup
sw installed: Slikat 4.4.2
bootloader: unlook
I installed ICS original sony ftf
booted everything seemed fine but to turn on the wifi the problem is back ...
I tried various threads to no avail.
in particular, the original thread from the official site sony on changing
File: wpa_supplicant_bgscan.db ..... but going to check the file with root explorer.....
FILE WAS NOT PRESENT IN THE SYSTEM OF THIS PHONE!
Then I tried this procedure on this XU worked:
rooted ics rom installed
install WiFix Manager 1.2
start the program. After choose your own time zone-my, check
advanced setting EU instead of U.S. install. start: installing WiFix.
exit without closing the program and
Enter code from phone dialer: * # 94 349 #
I think now the wifi will work ',
then go to: settings / wireless / advanced / option (keep wifi active during sleep) choose option: only when connected
but on my xperia u closing the display will freeze or reboot the wifi again!!
go in data / misc / wifi - WiFix 1.2 created the file: wpa_supplicant_bgscan.db!!
with root explorer go to the file and give all permissions in reading,
remove all checkmarks in writing (I think this is the problem of freeze)
put the check only: Run: Owners only.

Hello guys:
I am experiencing an Issue with my Galaxy S5 (T-mobile version). Everytime I turn on my device, it switches to "Factory Mode" and it turns off my wi-fi connection. (I am attaching a screenshot). Then, when I try to turn on my wi-fi the phone go to reboot.

I've already read some solutions using "root", and the root file explorer but I've not gotten any success (due to all tutorials are for other phones). Also I couldn't find any case for Galaxy S5. :crying:
Currently, as a workaround, I've installed CM11 and I didn't got the "Factory mode" message. Then I used "Omega Rom" and my phone works nice.
Well, I know you are the experts here and I would like to know if this problem could be related with the "Kernel"?. I got this conclusion because Omega Rom and CM11 have a different kernel name than Stock version.
I will appreciate all your comments to solve my doubts.
Thank you guys,:good:

I don't even know what Factory Mode is but if you're on Omega (a very good rom by the way) at this point you can probably flash the latest factory rom with Odin and it should function correctly. If not, then I'd have TMO replace the phone. There are several threads in this section (XDA T-Mobile S5 Forums) that explain how to flash the latest firmware.
Good Luck!
If I've helped please push the "Thanks" button.
In fact, that was the first thing I did and I 've not gotten success. I will wait for the Stock rom version with Android 5.0 and try again. Thank you
