Problem restoring data - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I just updated my unbranded uk galaxy s2 to ics. I tried to restore the backup i made using samsung kies but the restore failed. I only backed up memos, bookmarks and misc data. Any solution.

try restoring just the bookmars and memos and skip other, not familaiar with kies though, but it might be restoring some system files and the error.
whatever you do do not restore data from Gb to ICS, its a headache

My backup was made on gingerbread. I managed to recover the memos but not the bookmarks. I tried restoring them seperarely but that did not work either. Any other solution?

Finding notes saved after wipe...

Hey Guys this is a dumb question. I upgraded and wiped my rom but realized I have a note that i didn't sync with my ever note that i really need. Before my wipe i did a nandroid backup and a titanium backup- anyway I can find said note without having to go back to my previous rom and running Nandroid (i upgraded to HC)
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
You should be able to see them when you sign into your evernote account, you may have to sign out and sign back in again. If not, try restoring data for "notes" in TB..
Sent from my HTC Flyer.
well the thing is....it didn't sync with evernote before i wiped. it was a pretty new note. I did both nandroid and titanium back up before i wiped.
the titanium backup didn't really restore my notes >_>..
Think evernotes stores data on the sdcard but names are not attached to the note. Have you tried restoring + data from Titanium Backup? That is why the app exsists. You could do a Nandroid backup of your current system and then restore your previous backup.

Can't restore videos via Kies

I factory reset my phone yesterday (International version) because of some delays in the menus and loading up of the dialpad.
However, as I tried to restore the backup on the phone, Kies keeps telling me that there's an unexpected error while restoring my videos.
My apps can't be restored as well and I had to download them all again, loosing all my data.
The rest of the backup was ok, but seriously? Why is there a backup if it doesn't work in the first place?

[Q] Kies - Restoring a Partial Backup?

Hi everyone, I recently had problems with my SGS3 and had to factory reset. Before I did the factory reset I did a full backup in Kies, and it completed everything but then hung backing up text messages, the last thing on the list. I had to cancel the backup but I noticed the information it had backed up was still there, so went ahead with the factory reset.
Unfortunately, although the backup data is there (with the exception of text messsages, which I don't really care about), the actual .sbu backup file that Kies needs to restore a backup isn't there, as I'm guessing it's the index of the backup which would have been created if the text message backup hadn't hung. Is there any way to easily restore the backup without this file?
Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give!
