Hello everyone,
I start this new topic because I can't find answer anywhere.
My problem is the following :
Since day 1 (more or less), I've multiple keystroke when I type a letter on the hardware keyboard of the U20i, it repeat itself one or more. It happends at random (so ie : eee iii qqq aaa), so not all the time the same letters.
It doesn't seem to be a hardware problem (not always the same letters, and the problem doesn't always appear from one text to another)
I had the problem with the stock rom. I've installed Slade87's Gin.Tonic 2.5.1 (GB 2.3.7) and the problem remains. I've still the stock kernel. I've tried different governor and different memory management profiles.
So, my questions, who has experienced the same ? Between those who has solved it, how did you do ?
Many thanks !

It's the hardware keyboard the problem, not the software one. The phone is the u20i, not the e10i (so the x10 mini pro, and not the x10 mini). Thanks anyway for asking. Btw, i've a screen protector on my screen ;-)
I should add that it does the same with the android keyboard enabled in place of squashinput.

Oh, I'm sorry. I recognized it as water on my screen (X8), so I read a bit too fast over it. But then if it's a hardware problem, which would need a repair i guess..

I don't know, because if it is hardware, it should happen always with the same letters I think.
I'll send it to repair anyway if i can't find any solution :-/

It could be software indeed, but most likely hardware, since you told it happends cross rom & kernel. But you can always ask the "ultra-wise" SE support in such cases

They didn't help me at all, and the bug still remains (I asked them a year ago, so...), well at least it doesn't happen too often =(
Same problem on my x10 mini pro. And I heard that some other guys had that problem too. For me also it happen with different keys.(so I not sure it is hardwere problem)
Somethimes often somethimes rare. I using minicm7 2.2.0 and nAa kernel.
And I couldn't find any solution for it.

So it happens too with the naA kernel :-S as same as with the stock rom ?
Damned, it seems it's hardware. Let's hope for a valid warranty :-S

On stock works fine. But in last time i did not go back to stock to try again because my notebook is broken.

Same here on MiniCM7 and nAa kernel. But in my case it's not hardware problem. I took my phone to my dad, he works in phones repair center and he checked it. And also had this bug on android screen keyboard. On stock rom i don't have this bug so I don't know what should I do... :-(
Oh ok =( So it seems there is no explanations neither any solutions but send it to repair =(
Guys, do you have installed something like KMLauncher? In my case that is the problem. I install it the same time as new version of MiniCM7 came out so I thought it was ROM problem but it wasn't. I set android keyboard in horizontal and landscape mode and set se keyboard when hardware keyboard is open. I uninstall it, use just one type of keyboard and don't have this problem anymore. Maybe this will help you.

Hm, interesting theory... I'll try to remove the android keyboard to only have one keyboard installed on the device. I'll tell you if it worked out
Edit : Aw maaaan =D, I still have some test to run but it seems that the android keyboard caused some conflict with the other keyboard =/
Edit 2 : It happens again, but less, really, I don't understand :s
Edit 3 : It happens more with app like twitter than with handcent xD !

Hi,
I'm a new user of your forum but i follow this since 6 months and i love it ! I'm french so sorry for my bad english...
My problem : I have installed ROM 2.2 of Wolfbreak (very good job ! thanks a lot) CM6.1.3 V4.5 without any problems. But since V4.5.7, i have a problem : sound works fine but after reboots, sound bug ! The volume is very very small because sound is played in the earphone in the front, not in the HP behind the phone.
So after, to know if it's a beug of the rom, i installed the CM7 Gingerbread of jerpelea (very good work too !). First boot, no problem with sound but after few reboots, same problem... After a flash, it's working but after reboots, the bug appears.
To resolve the problem, i have to connect earphones on jack connector and disconnect them. After, sound is played on the earphone in the front.
Do you know this problem ? Do you think it's an HW problem of my phone ?
Thanks.
Hello, there are lot of bugs on custom roms.
When your phone is on 2.1 have you experienced your problems now?
If not your phone is ok...
Try using free x10 by zidzu.

Hello All,
I noticed that every time I either charge or connect to my computer via USB, there is always this "notification" that I have emails or whatever on my notification bar that I cannot get rid of. Once I scroll down the notification bar, the notice disappeared and there is no "clear" button to clear it.
Even though this is nothing big to frown upon on, but I found it to be very annoying and if anyone had similar problems and knows how to fix it, please let me know! Thanks!
Which ROM or SE software are you using? Info like that can help us solve your problem better.
If your running a ROM, my guess it's a ROM issue depending on the ROM.

Nope, but I repaired my stock 2.3 on PC companion and it's still there.
Then I would call SE to see if your issue is a hardware problem or not.

Before three 2 month ago I bought a SE Xperia Mini ST15.
But now the problem is sometimes Back and menu button working automatically.

# Is it ribbon problem?
# Is is Keypad problem?
# Is it touch problem?

How can it be kernel issue?
Anyway, to topic starter, look for the overheat issue about touchscreen sensitivity, here in general.

I had a problem where my X10 would randomly freeze then restart almost immediately once in a few hours, I did a full wipe, went to stock GB just to fix it then it seems to be doing it again, but I guess less frequently now, like once a day or two days but it's annoying, boot doesnt take too long but still basiaclly makes phone useless for a while
Has anyone had this issue? I'd appreciate any help

err so you're saying this ROM is even more stable than stock that it might stop the restarts?
Well the rom is based on stock so its as stable and way faster. And something my have gone wrong with your rom so its worth a try and you could always go back.
Sent from my Xperia X10 using xda app-developers app
Its true that stock based ROMs r faster than the sony stock ROM.. but if it reboots randomly on stock itself, ur phone might be overheating, there might b a hardware prob, or if ur lucky something just went wrong with the installation

Must be the touch driver crashing....
*clean your screen, fluids tend to crash touch driver and like you mentioned locking, wiping the screen and unlocking will get it working.
If that doesn't work
*maybe it's because of some app you use crashing/colliding check and see you may might have to try un installing the apps which you installed or updated when the problem started to occur.
*if above two failed try performing a factory reset might help .
*finally flashing a new stock firmware will correct the problem if all above methods failed.

Well.....I think you have just found the answer to your question
Remove it and see if it's all good. If not, returning time it is, don't even bother go flashing firmwares. It's a brand new phone.
Good morning. Guys i was thinking that my screen protection isn't a problem because if i lock the screen and i open it again all works. And sometimes when i'm typeing a text message or i'm on browser it seems to type by itself and i'm looking scared .
p.s : i flashed a new stock rom(4.0.3) , i wiped it and i did all i could. the problem is still there.
