How to unroot when power button don't works - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
2 hours ago, a had to turn my SGS2 off and when i want to turn it on, nothing happened Tried to charge battery to full, put out battery for 20 minutes and still can't turn it on. When i connect it to charger, on display is battery charging but don't see LED diod.
Is it soft brick or hardware problem with button ? I just changed my sd card and put back my old.
When its hardware problem, I have to take it back tomorrow, but is there some way to unroot it and flash official rom because of warranty ?
Thanks a lot

Try and plug it in the computer. Maybe itll power on?

You can turn the phone on into download mode by using a USB jig.

Phone bricked, cannot charge, need help ASAP

I need help with this NOW if anyone can. I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for it so it would get seen. I was trying to update to 2.1 and something went wrong. Long story short the battery drained and now even when it's plugged into the wall all it does is flash its little red light. If I can get it to charge I think I can get things working again but as it stands I don't even know if it is charging. If I have it plugged into the wall and remove the battery the led turns green. If I put the batt back in afterwards it will go off after a bit and eventually "turn on" (in this case that just means that the screen comes on but is completely black but backlit) but there is no led indication at all so i don't know if it's charging or what. It doesn't seem to be. I really need help asap. Thanks in advance.
Silly question perhaps.. have you tried putting it into flash mode for SEUS (phone off hold back key, plug in USB cable)...?? does it register the phone?
Open pc companion hold back button and insert the micro Ian until it says stop it should then tell you your software is already the latest but if there's a problem you can use the repair option. Hth

Tried it just now, nothing.
My suggestion would be to plug it in for a few hours then try again. Or take battery out completely and try the back button without a battery. Might work. Might not. Sorry. Doubt the phone is bricked tho.

Just out of interest how long have you left it on the charge for? Because the red light flashes while charging until 10% and I remember once when my battery fully drained it did that for a few minutes until phone turned on again. Leave it for a while if you haven't done so.
The reason I ask is, incase you saw red light flashing and took it off charge straight away thinking its faulty? Like I said it sometimes takes a while to turn on fully when battery has died.
Edit: I know this is unhelpful, but that's why when you update via SEUS it says to ensure battery has 50%

I got he same problem 3 weeks ago. i could not get the phone to boot anymore even after trying all the unbrick method available here. so i sent it to sony ericsson service and they changed the motherboard.
okay, been charging for a while now and still have the red light. Pretty confident it isn't charging.
Plz try another usb cablr. I know about 20 people whoms usb cable accidently died and the phones cannot charge anymore ....

But the phone won't even boot. Will the battery charge while it's off? or when it's on a black screen? I know 2.1 lets it charge when it's off now, but the OP said the update screwed up.
Other suggestions that may take some time:
1. Find someone else who has an X10 and charge it in their phone.
2. Bring it to your phone provider and ask them to charge it.
3. Bring it to your phone provider and exchange the battery (temporarily?).
4. Buy an external wall charger (one that lets you charge the battery directly, not in the phone).
I ended up bypassing the phone and charging the battery directly via a macgyvered usb cable. Don't ask. lol. But I got it charged enough to use the se update tool and restore it back to the original rom. I'll try the update to 2.1 later after I get this thing charged all the way up. Thanks guys.

[Q] [Help] Galaxy S2 died, someone could help me? Urgent!

Good.
My galaxy s2 failed to turn on.
Yesterday I installed the rom-BAR7 CriskeloRomV22-S-Tog-BLN-CallRec-Overscroll-3LS-CamHack-PWR-M-Esxt-(XXKI3-2.3.5), and the kernel SiyahKernel v1.7.8
and it works good
He was charging all night, the morning did the Battery Calibration, and was working perfectly
By late afternoon, I'll take it, and it dont turn on, nor in download mode or recovery mode or normally.
If you connect the charger a bit, note that it heats up, but no links or picture or anything
If connected to the computer appears to be installed this drive, but without success as you can see the image HERE
What solutions are there, without being sent to the warranty?
thanks
Pull the battery, wait a minute, reinsert the batterry and see if you get in recovery or downloadmode.
You could try a USB Jig.

Maybe you had huge battery drain because of the rom or an application and it can not charged because of the temperature.Happened to me once with cm7(most probably my drain was from webroot security or setcpu)
.Remove the battery for longer time eg 15minutes and try to charge it
Ps if you have zero battery you can not enter recovery or download mode.I lived that and its really annoying

Yes as you have been informed already .
One try the USB recovery jig to turn download mode on that fails or you dont want to try a service centre for a non warranty repair .

Just another guess:
Charge the battery for some minutes.
After unplugging the phone, pull out the battery, external SD-card and SIM-card for some minutes.
Try to start that phone with battery only.
Good luck ...
Send from my SGS2 (GT-I9100) running XXKI3 with CF-Root 4.2
if you know someone who has the same phone why not try using their battery?
or leave the phone to charge overnight and see what happens in the morning...

hi tiagoorg i m still exact same situation as you. you can see my update in my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18139062
listen how far i come to know that it is mostly happend by moisterizer or humidity.
mostly people take his fone in their pocket and when sweat release from body body's tempreture again conveert it into vaupour and this vapour some how enter in to mobile in your pocket. so go to samsung care or any good mobile repair shop who know his job better and say your exact situation and also say which i mention here ok. may be they can help you to dry the battery coonect point ok. becos some time when you pull off your battery and press the power switch button for 1 minute and then put back battery on mobile but dont push power button only insert the battery, u will find that near camera some heat is rising up and after some time it would be good heat enough near your camera. if i m rite then plz reply me ok.u know i did every thing like bootloader update, jtag but no success. if u have external charger charge ur s2 bateery with it and then clear ur battery touch point in both means on fone and basttery too with blade or paper knife and then insert ur battery if u will lucky u will see that ur fone will start but when will u switch off ur fone again ur fone will refuse to start. i m damn sure about it. reply if it happens to u ok

Rom? Kernel?
How about battery level?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Low battery or dead battery?
Very much doubt its ROM / Kernel related.
However power/battery may be a problem, have you tried to turn it on with the power plugged into the phone or after allowing it to charge for 5 min? In fact if you plug it it to a wall charger do you get the battery charging icon?
Im suspecting a hardware issue to be honest, if a device switches off like that half way through an innocuous task its either power or a hardware problem.

When went off it was at 67% of battery.
Now I can't even charge the phone, when I plug the charge into the phone no battery image appears
I was on latest XXLQ5 and wanted to restore nandroid backup of KI8 while this happens.

No battery icon when connecting the charger. And can't power on with charger connected
Try leaving it on the charger for 45 mins or 2 hour and try to power on your phone (Remove it from the charger when you try to power it on).

Why ask the same question twice?
I had similar bsod, & following saved me.
1. Launch Odin
2. Plug ph in to PC w/o battery in it.
3. Do 3 button combo for d/l mode.
4. While still holding 3 button combo... now - insert battery (tricky but can be done)
5. If ph goes into d/l mode, flash your stock ROM now with Odin...

[Q] Vibrant wont turn on - will show charging screen

Hi,
My vibrant will not turn on when on battery (NOTHING appears on the screen when power button pressed). When plugged in, the charging screen appears and it appears to be charging, but if I press the power button, nothing happens. I have tried holding volume up and down and power button, but this does nothing whether its plugged in and charging or its on battery.
Before this happened it was restarting over and over when I was trying to charge it.
So in conclusion the only screen I can get is the battery charging screen, that is it. This entire time I have been testing the sim card and sd card have been removed.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?
Thanks
More info, did this happen after you flashed something? are you aquainted with Odin1.85, AIO toolbox is a great place to start. If I can help in any way i will.
This happened after normal use, it was actually after the battery died and I tried to charge it with a car charger, and then the phone just kept resetting over and over. It wouldnt get very far in the start up process. But I did not flash it. I am not familiar with any of that but I can give it a try.
Thanks

Have you tried a new battery? Sounds like your battery will not charge. Just for future reference, sometimes a car charger can damage your phone's battery, even completely kill it. When you press the gas pedal your car's battery charge fluctuates and can damage your phone that way, rare but it happens. Not to say that's the case here but it could also be a custom ROM. I was running a custom ROM called lithium volt and if the battery completely died the phone would not boot back up, even when plunged into a charger. Some roms a require certain amount of battery power to boot up.

It doesnt lock the phone, it doesnt shut down the phone, I get no response. So I think my problem before was simply the power button was not working. Has any one had this problem, can I fix it?

That's unfortunate, if you are comfortable soldering then you can just order a replacement button. Mobiletechvideos.com fixes that problem, they fix almost everything else too. Very trusted source so you can be sure to get what you paid for. If you can solder then buy a replacement part on ebay or you can go here http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-i9000-t959-t959v-power-button-repair/ and send your Vibrant t959 to mobile tech.

sgh-t959
i recently aquired a samsung vibrant sgh-t959. It had issue charging and i determined that it was the micro usb charge port. i messed with it a bit like i did before to get it to charge with no response as before but now when i try to turn the phone on it only shows the loading clocklike bars as if it were just plugged in to charge before it loads the charging bar when its turned off. any ideas on how to simply repair this at all? i know replacing the charge port would be one option but i have no idea on how to. maybe one of the contacts are touching another on the charge port?

Prevent phone from booting when inserting battery

I'm having kernel issues so I wanna reflash. The problem is that I cannot turn off the phone because as soon as I insert the battery the phone turns on so I can never get into flashmode. I cannot boot Android or get into recovery either to turn off the phone the normal way. Any other options other than waiting till the battery is dead?
Try leaving the battery out for 5 mins and see if it doesn't boot up this has happened to me a few times inserting battery not long after taking it out and the phone booted itself left the battery
Out for sometime and it didn't do it
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Or you could try connecting the phone without the battery in then hold the back button then insert the battery should ho into flash mode
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Hey The Realone,
Turn off phone or take out battery
Conect your USB cable to PC
Open Flashtool
Select Kernel that you wanna flash
Wait for pop up message
Connect your phone
Hola BACK button
Re-insert the battery
Forget android version on this video
