Agreed, I'm about ready to turn the chapter on my streak
This video has been around in the other Note forum for a while.
Frankly, it's a tease. There's something about Smasung's promises that are worth just about nothing.
For all we know, they may discontinue this product before we see anything.
I have had the Note for ages, and be the time they release anything it will be obsolete.
Heck, in Smasung's mindset, things are obsolete even BEFORE they're released
end rant

So you come from an iPhone to the Note and you automatically know everything about Samsung devices? Hmmm.
In my experience with the Captivate and Infuse, Samsung may be slow to release stuff, but they eventually get around to it. The Captivate started on 2.1, and they eventually got it to 2.2 and 2.3. The Infuse started with 2.2 and had 2.3 for a while, but they pulled it due to some issues; it will be back eventually. And that's just official updates. Samsung phones have great developer support her, my Captivate has ICS running on it, and the Infuse does now too. Premium Suite will come out when they release the official Samsung ICS for the International Note. And how can you say they are making the Note obsolete before it came out? It's still arguably the best device out there right now. And the ATT Note has been out for what, 2 months, yet we already have a stable ICS leak? Ok. I would say that's pretty damn good due to the fact that most phones don't have ICS yet, and the Note was in development before ICS was officially released anyways....therefore of course it's going to have GB when it was released.
I love how previous iPhone users think that they have the best support...One phone a year...one 'major' software upgrade a year. And no fragmentation? Hah. Bold faced lie. If there was truly no fragmentation, all iPhones, all the way back to the original, would be able to run the latest iOS in some shape or form...yet that's not the case.
When I had the iPhone 3g, it was severely crippled by iOS 4. My old Captivate now has ICS on it, and is over two years old now. Hmmm. Weird.
Not trying to bicker and fight, just pointing out that Samsung does support their devices fairly well.
I didn't mention an iPhone. Did you perhaps search my previous posts form two months ago?
And I don't think I mentioned anything about Apple support or whatever.
Samsung is a shifting entity. They are now supposedly pulling the Galaxy tab 10" and the 10" note to make changes. Thing is, this seems somewhat disorganized. It may be a good move, or not. It isn't a stable timetable.
So when they say such and such is going to happen, I'm not going to hold my breath.
Yeah, I suppose I did search it to see where you were coming from, as in my experience I have been really satisfied with Samsung products, so I get curious as to why people have complaints against Samsung. Sorry. Haha. And my reference to Apple's support came from you being on an iPhone previously, therefore that is what you're familiar with, so I compared it to my experience with both Samsung and Apple products.
Sorry if I came off a bit harsh, going on 4 hours of sleep in the last two and a half days, it's wearing on me.
Np problem, I do that also (it's fun to sneak around and check on people )
I'm just pissed that i'm stuck with the S -memo. I bought the Note for the pen really, as it's an ideal note-taker (or should I say, it COULD be ideal )
And I was waiting for the 10" and now it's all up in the Air. I'm pissed.
So I rant on, to no avail i'm afraid
Cmon now...Samsung isnt THAT bad. Honestly, if you always have to have the lastest software, the Nexus line is the best way to go. Its not like HTC, Motorola, LG updates all of their devices quickly. No brand is perfect. I would much rather have to wait a little while and get a completed update than a fast update thats buggy and half assed. And besides, most people love to flash ROMS and tons of customizations. Thats what makes us Android users and not iOS. Last week I used the iphone again and thought to myself..."this $#&@ is Boring! Unlock screen, swipe left, swipe right....all I see is bunched up icons on that never changing 3.5" screen...thats it?!?
-Once you go NOTE, you'd say 4 inches a Joke
I was one of the many who came from an iPhone. Actually, I have had every iPhone since it's inception. From time to time, I would jump and try another phone and would always go back to the iPhone. This is the first time that I switch out the iPhone and can still say It was a great choice. One of the many things that sold me was samsung's premium suite coming out. I have changed so many things on my note that I could never do on the iPhone. I guess it is just personal preference and what it is your looking for in a phone. I wanted a productivity monster that would do everything I needed or wanted and the notes does just that
Bring on premium, I am waiting impatiently
Coming from someone who had a phone made by Dell last, I would say that Samsung is LIGHTNING fast with updates, lol...

Coming in late but I've got a question about the Premium Suite... I want it but if I go to one of the custom ROMs will I still be able to download it from the Samsung App store? or from the Android Market (Google Play Store?).

It's believed to be in the new leak being released soon. I'm sure it will get incorporated in all the ICS ROM's very quickly.

Your rant aside, that's actually a good point on iOS. Never thought about it that way. They are always quick to attack fragmentation as a benefit to being on iOS (which they feel they are immune too). I believe this picture sums it up

Been using the leaked "S Note" app on my AT&T Note and am learning to like it alot. BUT it definitely (at least for me) takes some learning and practice.
It has basically replaced the "S Memo" app.
Nice feature in "Settings" is the ability to use pen only...meaning your palm won't end up leaving marks on your note.

So, with the chance of getting flamed or... flaming myself depending on the reaction to this. SprintFeed apparently got word that the Galaxy S II will be hitting Sprint first, on September 9th, ahead of all other carriers.

There is the link.
Just thought any defectors would like the heads up. I personally am sticking with my 3Devo.
From the screenshots it looks to be the same phone. No concrete answer on if it's packing a Snapdragon which had been rumored or if it's sticking with Exynos. *Shrug* guess we shall find out.
Awesome, can't wait. Jk Samsung sucks.

Damn Sprint is on a roll. Hopefully they get the Nexus Prime when it comes out. That's the only phone I'm interested in. The GS2 should of came out earlier. Samsung waited to long in my opinion, But nevertheless Sprint has a good line up this year.

Yeah, the only reason I can see why they waited was because of the pressure from Apple and it's "your phone looks like mah phone!" 6-year old meltdown of a lawsuit that has been going on. I dunno.

I was going to go the SGS2 route but it's just too little too late. The E3D in modded form can outpace a stock SGS2 easily...and the nPrime is right around the corner.
I used to love HTC and I've really grown to like the E3D General forum, y'all is cool peoples (most of the time)...but aside from the unlock fiasco I can't stand the ****ty radio and the strange behavior when powering on/off really makes me feel like one day it won't turn back on again....especially when I've seen it happen right in front of me.
...but I sure as hell will not post a thread here about it. Nothin' personal OP, just sayin'...

Well, I know a lot of people aren't happy with the Evo 3D, I decided to drop this nugget and see how it went. Like I said, I'm happy with my evo. My Radios don't suck too bad, only thing I have issue with is a Black SOD every 9hrs when using a custom kernel... which I can workaround with a stock kernel.
You're post is a little confusing. so... you're waiting for the nPrime?. that's how it sounded. That's looking to be an October release, it's being made by Samsung too. Which I find odd, I would think Motorola would be involved. I know it was just recently announced that Google was going to buy them, but...I assumed it was in the making to be some big lead up. oh well, probably next year.
I'd think I'd like it more if it didn't look like the iPhone had a retarded son.

Thank god I don't get the Black SOD...
Yeah, I'm waiting for the nPrime. It's being made by Samsung which, while at first really put me off but I did sport an NS4G for a few weeks last month. Aside from feeling cheap and too light--which most people wouldn't see as a down side--it was actually a fantastic phone. Great battery life, phenomenal camera and an unmatched Android experience. It did have the traditionally weak Samsung radio, but, it seems that you can't escape that anymore.
...and so far as Motorola is concerned Google has assured it's partners that the bidding process for the Nexus line would in fact remain the same. Google is saying all but "listen, we bought MMi for the patents. The Set-top-box and mobile manufacturing is just a plus, that we don't intend to use." Of course time will tell how true that is. For the time being I believe them.
However a Motorola built Nexus would probably be fantastic as long as they ditch that ****ty Pentile screen technology. I bet they would have class leading radios and battery life too.

Agreed. Their designs are a bit stodgy looking, but their hardware (aside from those horrible screens and penchant for keyboards) is rock solid. They nearly invented cellular mobile phone technology. They have been doing mobile communications for as long as there has been a commercial mobile communications market. Their radios are fantastic. Build quality is always awesome. How many OG Droids do you still see around? Tons...and I have seen a lot that are beaten to death physically but still kicking ass, 2nd hand, 3rd hand...that says quite a bit.
Without knowing anything about the contents of their patent portfolio I am confident that it contains thousands of very relevant patents. I can't wait to see Google's next move.
I came from the Epic 4G to the Evo 3D. The main thing about Samsung was there slowwwwww release of updates. The Epic 4G rolled out with Eclair, took a while to get Froyo and is still awaiting Gingerbread. This really seem slow down ROM and kernel development. HTC seems pretty spot on with their OS updates.
I am waiting to see if Samsung support for their phones has improved. If it has, maybe I would consider going back. Until then, my Evo 3D is the shizzle.

I think it is because everyone is scared of its size. I have one and love it. Stopped traveling with my tablet cause I got this. I admit it is big but not so big as to not be able to fit in my pocket. Everyone says "Oh you got that huge Android Phone." and then ask if they can see it. Once it is in their hands they say that it feels good in their hand and then they like it. It seems that the talk on the blogs and reviews about it being too big has keep a lot of people from even looking at it even though my contacts at ATT say it is flying out the stores.

Att and Samsung are advertising pretty hard for it. I think once people realize how portable it really is, they will consider it. I still get a few jeers from my friends, followed by them admitting it is a pretty sweet device.

I wonder what the percentages of the below are, when discussing iPhone users:
1. Aware that AT&T allows them to upgrade at 18 months
2. Aware that having an iPhone no longer makes you "cool"
3. Are of the age where they can buy the phone on their own without parental involvement
4. Are aware of what they are lacking with the iPhone
5. Care that their iOS device is at best outdated
Regarding number 3 - I knew the iPhone lost its caché when I was at the movies and saw an eleven-year-old (!) with one. At that time I'd already jumped to Android but my wife still had her iPhone 3G and wanted an iPhone 4. I gave her a good ribbing about wanting a phone that even kids have nowadays.
I remember her needing a new phone and pay through the nose for the original RAZR., so the idea was not lost on her - I think she'll go android on our next upgrade date - she's already entertaining it.
Her trepidation stems from her unfamiliarity with the Android interface - I assure her that she can make it whatever she wants, and even recently showed her a video of Espier launcher; I think that sealed the deal, so come August she might have a better (but not bigger!) phone than I have.
I think cause its still new and its a bit over priced.
Definitely because it's just a new device. The Streak was the first mainstream "phablet", but due to a lack of advertising and outdated software, it never took off for anybody that wasn't familiar with the dev work for it. I think the trend set by this phone combined with good software, great specs, and heavy advertisement by Samsung will make the Note line of phones very popular in the future.
The Note already is selling well, as the ATT store I bought mine from only had one white and no blue ones left when I bought mine...lucky me I wanted white. And I live in Northern Minnesota, which you could say is less tech savvy than a lot of places in the US. Goes to show Samsung has a potential gold mine on their hands if they push this market. Right now, you could say it's a niche device, but I think it's going to turn into a mainstream class of devices.
Everybody who has asked me about my phone is absolutely stunned by it. First, they laugh at its size and ask what the hell it is. Then I tell them it's the Galaxy Note, and explain some things about it, highlighting the 720p screen and SPen. They are impressed by that, but then ask, how the hell do you fit it in your pocket or carry it?! If I know them, I invite them to put it in their pocket and feel the size. They are wowed by how big they screen is, yet how portable and pocketable it really is. By the time I am a done showing them everything, their opinion is completely changed, and they admit it's an awesome device. The only people who say they wouldn't want it themselves are Apple loyalists, who argue that their integration and iCloud make it so they could never use anything but an iPhone. I tell those people that they're being ignorant, because you can do basically ask if that just as well, if not better with Android and Google apps. Even still, they admit if they weren't an iPhone/MacBook user, they would like the Note. I have not seem a single person who dislikes this phone so far.
Just show off your device every chance you get, and eventually people will realize how amazing devices like this really are, and realize their full potential.

The size of this phone freaks people out at first. I remember after getting this phone and taking it with me to work, every student I had was drawn to it like they didn't know what to think. It was comical to watch them all take turns seeing if it would fit in their pocket.
Despite the initial skepticism that they would like a phone this size, a vast majority of the students after messing with it for a second really liked it.
Same thing happened at the bi-monthly staff meeting. It was even funnier than the students...watching a bunch of adults playing pass the phone down the line game. Several of the teachers have either now went out and got this phone or are going to use it as their next upgrade.
I will say that I kinda enjoy having a phone that's not super common

I have seen two others both in the airports while traveling. Most people who notice my phone have seen the ads in one form or another. They know you can write on it!
EDIT: I send this original message while at my son's karate practice. I was sitting there and this very attractive Asian lady comes up and asks me if that I the Galaxy Note. I later found out she is Korean and loves Samsung and Android. She has a Vibrant on T mobile and say she heard they just hacked the GNote for T mobile...I was blown away at this girls knowledge of phones etc. Of course I let her play with my phone!
I then told her she should get a pink GNote and she googles it and you would have thought I was her hero...it was pretty wild how excited she got about a pink GNote although I do not believe it is out yet.
Pretty cool story regarding a simple ole phone!

I've only seen one other person, I was in line at a hibachi grill and while waiting for food the guy beside me pulled out his note, was using the flip-open battery cover case that AT&T has. We chatted for a minute or so while waiting for food, he came from the Pre and was disappointed how WebOS turned out, and said it took him a few days to get used to the size, he's still learning Android, asked me about a few things like do things "crash" all the time, etc, told him I have yet to see a single crash out of mine.
Cool thing was, when he first pulled it out I didn't say anything because he was getting into his calendar and looking up some events, added an event between them to someone and sent off the invite. He was getting along pretty good, and didn't want to disturb him while he was doing work.
Besides myself, I know of 3 other guys where I work with one plus I've ran into a couple other people with one at restaurants. The guy at the local AT&T told me they sold out the first day, so there should be several of them around here.
I have yet to see one in the wild. But any pol look at mine just like you guys shared. I love the attention from the girls looking at it.

too many sheeple that think that because everyone else has one, they have to have one to "stay cool".
I've always considered myself an INDIVIDUAL. I don't buy things based on what everyone else does. Almost to a fault, I'll go the opposite direction of "trendy" things. Hell, I still (when I can find them) wear the same style Nike White with red "swoosh" leather Cortez shoes (the ones like from back to the future). I've worn them since 1976....why...BECAUSE THEY ARE D*MN COMFORTABLE. Same thing with how I dress, my opinions etc. If you don't like it, tough, it's how I am. I got a Dell streak in Oct 2010 because I thought a 5" screen would be a benefit to me, and I was right, too bad Dell & at&t didn't market it. When I heard Sammy would have one, couldn't wait to get it. And I'm right, it's PERFECT for me. The sheeple can squint at their TINY screens all they want and look cool, at least my eyes don't have to squint.

i just got off the chat with samsung support because of the noise in the camera where there is low light and they couldnt fix it. so i asked if it would be fixed in another update and he said there werent any updates but i said in the future like android 4.1 jelly bean and he said yes but didnt have a date for the release. i told him to fix the camera tho and he said he will let the techs know.
Yea next year. Seriously, in my past experiences, whenever I asked them about software updates, the answer would be "soon". Took them months to update the us galaxy s I & II. Just recently, they updated the last galaxy s II variant to ics, days after jelly bean was announced. Our best hope is to wait for cyanogen since they're making a very good progress for our phone

Yes, Samsung is very bad with rolling out updates for their phones. With that said, it is pretty much always assumed that when you buy a high end Android device you will receive the next release of Android. However, for us, an official release will likely not be in the near future.
I don't know... my last two phones have been Samsung so I TOTALLY know how it's been in terms of updates, which is to say pretty abysmal... I kinda suspect it might be a little different this time around though, at least for JB... the S3 is their obvious flagship and is doing extremely well so I think they may not make us wait as long as in the past. I'd bet we get JB by September, probably about two months to the day that it was announced. I mean, that's two months longer than we all want it to be naturally, but it's not THAT ridiculous to me.
In my mind, more than a month after an Android release you start to moan a bit... more than two months you start to outright complain. So if they get it to us right around two months, that's not great, but it's not awful either. That my hunch anyway, based on no more information than anyone else has, just a gut feel that they won' t want to ruin what has been a pretty stellar product cycle so far overall. Remember, they pulled off a nearly simultaneous multi-carrier launch for the first time and have a lot of momentum... it would be pretty lousy to follow that up with too long a delay getting JB to us. I suspect they get that.
Jelly Bean for VZW Galaxy S3 - Q4 2012. Its an incremental update rather than fully ground up so it probably won't take as long as, for example, ICS took on many devices.
I don't have source right this second, but I'll find it soon.......
They take forever for software but damn they make worthy phones. I love my s3 and even tho I know we won't get official jb anytime within the next 6 months at minimum, I know we'll at least have cyanogenmod and aokp with it so I'm not worried about it.

Don't expect any major updates with Samsung. I have had every top end Samsung phone for AT&T and never gotten one update.

I think the fact that the SGS3 is nearly identical across all US carriers will play a huge role in getting updates out much quicker than they have in the past. Samsung recently had a poll on facebook asking if they only made one device, which device would users prefer. This ability to only manufacture a single phone (a la Apple iPhone) would allow them to push updates in unprecedented amounts of time.

Then you, sir, have purchased at the wrong time or are full of it. I received 2 official updates just on my Captivate.
It is not necessarily Samsung holding up the updates. Its most likely the carriers. I can only speak from experience on captivate , but the European counterpart of that devices ( the I9000) received more than 10 leaks and a couple of official Gb updates. The captivate itself had more than half a dozen leaks before the official gb update.
If youre only focusing on the official OTA updates, then yeah , it'll naturally be slow. However, considering the dedicated community we've got, we'll definetley get jelly bean relatively soon considering we got cm9 now
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
Yeah, sometimes Samsung gets a *little bit* of a bad rap with updates... my experience with the Epic 4G is that although the updates didn't come as fast as we'd like at times, we DID get eventually them... we went through three versions of Android if memory serves: I believe it shipped with Eclair, and I know we got Froyo and ended up with Gingerbread. That was over a two-year period, since I got the Epic shortly after release and just updated after a two-year Sprint contract. So, I mean, three major OS revisions, plus a couple of smaller ones and a few bug/security updates mixed in there too, over a two-year period, you know, that's not too bad in my mind, even though the wait was uncomfortable a few times. If the SGS3 gets similar updates it won't be too bad in the long-run, although I certainly hope the lags between Android releases and our updates aren't quite as long, and I suspect they won't be.
Actually Samsung was one of the first OEM's to roll out ICS to it's handsets. Look at how many Motorola phones don't have it yet. Almost all of the GS2 have ISC now. The Note has it.
HTC has a bunch of relatively new phones that don't have ICS yet.
I think the S3 will be one of the first non-Nexus to get JB. Time will tell.
I'd bet that we have leaks by August and an official release the month after. So Jellybean by September.
Edit:
Forgot about carriers. Provably by November/December then but maybe Samsung can force them to update faster now that they have so much clout.

I don't really disagree with your assessment. Over the last year and a half vzw has turned into att lite, and HTC has just screwed its customers every chance it has gotten. It left the EVO view/flyer, jetstream on their current buggy ass builds of hc, they've might as well given up on updating their phones, as they wait so bloody long to do so, then they have bowed to vzws every demand. I will definitely be leaving both Verizon and HTC at the end of the year when the new nexus device hits. (assuming it does hit then) to me it seems like vzw got the iphone and immediately quit worrying about how to bring in new customers and keep their current ones happy. I'm probably going to go to tmo and stick with unlocked unbranded phones.

Just because you put a custom rom on doesn't me it voided your warranty its a possibility but not a guarantee if you know what your doing. I agree with most your points, but I got the phone for $150 off CL (because he wanted an ics device instead, LOL) so not only did I get a great deal on a mint condition phone because it didn't have ics on it but then I went home and slapped it on myself from xda. So in a way I kinda like that Verizon/Htc hasn't released ics yet. Plus its cool knowing your one of only a few thousand people that have a rezound with ics. I just wished the would give up the source code for the kernel already.
At this point the only way I'm buying another HTC phone is if it is a Nexus device. After coming from the Motorola "OG" Droid, I can't stand the indifference these companies seem to have towards us. If HTC would've been more communicative with us, telling us what is going on instead of giving us some vague release date, I might've given them some credit.

It doesn't matter if this was a Samsung, Motorola, or LG, all companys treat their customers this way. Seems to be an industry standard. All big red does is interfere with this further with all the bloat they require. All I'm saying is HTC is not unique in how they handle themselves. I started with a Samsung Omnia (windows based), then got a Fascinate, Charge, and now Rezound. The Rezound is hands down the best phone I've had. Both the Fascinate and Charge suffered radio problems and if you read the Nexus forums they complain about the same thing. This also steered me away from the SGIII. Still a Samsung product.
Just my 2 cents......

While I agree that the rezzy is by far the best, I still wish I hadn't further supported HTC due to the way they are handling the tablet issue, and now the updates on the Rezound. And honestly I don't hold my breath for us getting jb. Honestly I think it will be like the tbolt is right now with Ics. Just a functional rom without a cellular modem. Which is sad given how incredibly much I like the phone itself. But the only way to get (insert mobile headset maker here) attention is to stop buying their products they won't support once they leave the shelf. And Verizon lost me when they axed unlimited data grandfathering. But then won't give me a discount for not buying a subsidized device. (ala tmo) so, I just can't continue to support companies that continually screw us the customer over.

Why do people get so "angry" or "furious" because there's no software update and says the manufacturer is horrible? Last time I checked the rezound cane out of the box with everything working. It's funny how people want everything....patience is key.
The update is a luxury not a necessity. Should I get mad at Microsoft because Windows 8 isn't out officially. The product they already released does everything I need for the time being.
Also, why would you want a company to rush a product? Try rushing your barber to finish your haircut quickly and see what happens. It seems very childish to get mad at a manufacturer for a SIMPLE update that is coming SOON.
The people of today...always wanting everything NOW.

I think some of it is symptomatic of the market. Handset makers are pushing out new devices every 4 to 6 months, and it stops being cost effective to update them all. Which sucks for us, but it makes good business sense.
If they would only push out source, RIL included, it just wouldn't matter.

All that you're saying sounds good and all but that argument is tired. If htc says we're giving ics, we expect it. And with barbers you see progress and know it's happening. You don't see him pausing your haircut after telling you 2pm to go work on someone elses and then coming back to your at damn near 1:58. Or him giving you a fresh haircut then ignoring you after you ask him to touch up your hairline after you paid him.

It's the whole thing of lying to the consumers that pisses people off, not necessarily the lack of updates IMO. If HTC had never mentioned that we were getting ICS there wouldn't be so much *****ing and moaning because people wouldn't expect it. When I got the Rezound back in November, I was told that it would have it by January. Here we are almost 8 months later with still no update. HTC has had it ready for months but Verizon refuses to push it out until they're ready. It's not the same thing as your Windows 8 analogy because the transition from Windows 7 to Windows 8 is paid for. It'd be more like you buy a computer with Windows 7 and a few months down the road your PC manufacturer says "We're not going to release any new drivers for your hardware, sorry." then MS says "We're not going to release any updates to Windows 7 for you anymore, sorry. Please buy Windows 8 to get the latest bug fixes."
I gotta say HTC and Verizon really ****ed this up. I've had good experiences with HTC before, but they are just so Hit-or-miss that it isnt even funny. Verizon... POS. Come november when my contract is over, I'm going to get whatever is the next nexus device (if its HTC then awesome) on AT&T
I don't really care for the official ICS because I am already enjoying ICS with sense 4 with Newts One XxX. However, it pisses me off to see that the rezound is still without official ICS. I don't think anything can justify this, other than than Verizon trying to promote other phones and not caring about a phone because it was not branded "Droid". The Droid razor already has ICS and I dont see why the Rezound still waiting. And what's more frustrating is the silence of the two companies... They simply don't care about what the customers think...
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
I would have to say the rezound has been the worst experience I have ever had with a HTC phone. It seems that since the HTC One series drop nothing else matters to HTC. I hate to say it but this may very well be my last HTC handset. I need a phone that I can compile the source on my own I guess.
Edit:
I see a lot of blame on Verizon but I don't believe (and I maybe wrong) any other HTC handsets have ICS either like the EVO3D (were I came from).
Why even push an update now that isn't even an update? It needs to have sense 4, IMO that would make it worth the wait, and get customers more excited and loyal towards HTC products. But nope. Gonna be sense 3.6 lol. Meh w/e they have been shooting themselves in the foot lately. All of them have in a way. Samsung used to be terrible with updates but not so much anymore... Their phones are just iffy, radios and such...

Oh I'm almost 100% sure Verizon is the MAIN problem. HTC has probably had it done for quite some time now but I'm sure Verizon keeps rejecting and making them lock stuff down more, while promoting other phones in the meantime. This last leak is almost perfect, and how long have we had it now?
My plan expires tomorrow, I can get whatever. Any news on upcoming "google" phone?
Google hasn't release any new phone for 2012 yet...I'd hate to grab Galaxy Nexus now, then they release something newer the month after.
Since
Nexus One (release date Jan 2010)
Nexus S (Dec 2010)
Galaxy Nexus (Nov 2011)
?? (Nov-Dec 2012)
...is it safe to predict that one is due somewhere around Nov-Dec?
Apple hasn't release any iphone in 2012 also...so I think they gonna release something in late 2012 also. When it does, I think Google Nexus will be even cheaper...so I think I should wait a couple more months.
Since most of us Vibrant users plan expire at the end of late quarter of 2012, what phone are you planning to get next?
PS: If your Tmobile unlock code does does not work, try this, it worked for me

Well they usually release a new phone with new OS. Nexus S with Gingerbread, GalNex with ICS (I forgot what did Nexus One shipped with, Eclair??). With JellyBean already released just a few weeks ago, I think the chance is very slim for google to release a new phone at the end of this year.

You mean Google Nexus 7? If so, that isn't a phone though. They don't have Google Nexus yet...they have Google Galaxy Nexus. After the last time I had with OEM subsidized phone with superslow OTA update, I aint going through that again.
I'd be surprised if they released a new phone without any teasers or leaks at this point. Could be focusing on the Nexus 7 moreso, but you'd think you'd have have seen something just to get the buzz going since Apple is supposed to have the next iPhone coming out sometime late this year.
I had to put my Vibrant out to pasture a couple weeks ago, and picked up the Galaxy Nexus; it's badass. The lack of an SD slot, and the camera (good, but not great) are my only complaints but it's so smooth at stock. I don't even think I'll bother with a custom ROM at this point since stock JB runs so well. Maybe the Trinity or franco kernel later, but I almost don't know what to do with my phone since I was always tinkering and tweaking my Vibrant, heh.

Google usually brings out a new phone with a new major software update, e.g. N1 (Eclair), Nexus S (GB), Galaxy Nexus (ICS). Froyo was not a major update so no new phone, and neither is Jelly Bean; however, 'Key Lime Pie' is "supposed" to be a major update so I believe Google will be releasing a new phone around December/January.

Well, with Google phone, you don't have to worry about latest ROM from google delivered to you ontime before all other phone...you won't have problem with TMobile like we did for Vibrant. I don't trust any updates from any OEM or Carrier anymore and would not get SGS S3 If you can't wait, get the Galaxy Nexus. If I were you, I'd wait for upcoming release ...with Lime Pie as like one the user mentioned. Just keep sticking around testing new XDA Vibrant ROMs The other rumor I read that was pretty interesting is that the new battery might be in case form and flexible...so that it could have more battery life. Also Tmobile bought more spectrum for 4G LTE...and should be in 2013. If so, I hope the new phone is capable of all the spectrum...and super long lasting battery. Maybe it's just a dream. Who knows...lol
PS: I just saw this Google Nexus 2 by Bob Freking...I don't know if it has any credibility...who the hell is he?

Sorry but that's pretty ugly concept with the backside and by god not Tegra. I'll stick with OMAP any day and I predict Google will go with a 2ghz dual core OMAP base on the Arm A15, rather than 4cores.

You might have answered your own question. Internet rule 1: don't believe everything you see.

Hey guys I'm having a hard time deciding whether to get the Galaxy S3 now or wait until the next Google phone. What do you guys think?

There will always be something better on the horizon. Make a list of everything you want and get the phone that has it WHEN you want it.
Besides, it's hard to compare the Galaxy S3 against a phone we know nothing about.

That doesn't look pleasing to the eye.

Thankfully that's probably nothing like what it's actually going to look like lol
I read that T-mobile will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Note soon. Any opinion on that as next phone? I don't keep up with all the tech nearly as well as most here.

Samsung Galaxy Note aka phablet available 8/8/2012. I just saw it yesterday...it maybe kinda big for me and it's oem - do you want to go through the super slow OTA update as we did for the Vibrant again? I'd probably wait for the google version for true google experience.
