I have my Samsung Galaxy Nexus and my Asus Transformer Prime, and I generally have the same games on both, and I just wondered if there was a method / app to sync saved data / progress between my devices so I could pick up one one device where I left off on the other?

Titanium Backup and Dropbox sync should do the trick
I’ve used Titanium Backup for exactly this over a couple of device changes, most recently to my shiny new Transformer Prime. It’s worked perfectly for all games I play except Paradise Island, the game data restored successfully and I can do almost everything except use any of the network features. Although I was registered it now tells me I am not but will not let me sign up again because it has restored my existing profile….. So it half thinks I’m registered… Oh well, as I said it has worked a treat for everything else.
OK maybe I am being really stupid, but I can't seem to figure out how to upload my backups to Dropbox?
Also, is there a way to do this auto-magically whenever I play something?
Can this be used without Root? I have Titanium Backup Pro on my phone (fully rooted etc) can I still copy my game saves onto my stock unrooted prime? Mainly Deadspace, I just completed it and want to play again on newgame+
I saw on Android Police that the app "DataSync" came out I think last week. It requires root and busybox.

No Titanium Backup won't work unless you root your Prime too. I don't know about dropbox, I've never used it because TB does all I need to do.

Yeah that works great, its not automatic, but seems to work quite well!!
For some games you can transfer the save file saved on your sd card, so root won't be necessary. However it will be annoying to do everytime you want to play between twwo devices.
SaveShare is another app very similar to DataSync that doesn't require root (though the syncing of some games' files do require root). I'm curious to hear people's impressions who have used both.
Typically, the only game which I want to sync across devices (Where's My Water?) needs root - but none of my devices are rooted
To throw another option into the mix, I've recently developed the app 'GameSync' for this purpose. It also requires root and is more focused on the game side of things, unlike DataSync. As a result, it offers 'automatic synchronization' where possible, keeping the tablet and phone in sync without interaction.

I have a NT rooted and setup to disable automatic downloads from BN following directions on this forum. Everythings been working pretty good but I would still like to purchase things from BN occasionally.
I then went out to the Android marketplace and downloaded Nook for Android, installed it and I can see it in my list of apps.
When I click on the icon for it though, all it does it take me back to the main page of my launcher.
Has anyone else had these issues?
Sounds like a bad install to me. I am rooted with zergy and have minor debloat, opting to keep all of the B&N stuff as I still buy books often. Which root method did you use? I also have the nook app on my phone with a few books in my dropbox. It works fine on that as well. Perhaps try clearing cache and data from the app and try signing in again?
I know there have been other threads on this, and I don't recall anyone getting it to work. I believe B&N has done something either to the app or to Android to prevent it from running.

I had the same outcome after rooting. I suspect and accepted that it was most likely due to opting for a full B&N debloat.
Right, I did do a full debloat also.
If BN would let me just get the ebook, even to my computer, I suppose maybe I could transfer it over to the nook that way but I haven't tried it.

Calibre is a resource to assist in that. I find it a great library manager and it will act as a WiFi server to your Nook through the Calibre Library app
I'm unclear whether this post is about the nook software already baked into the device, or the "Nook for Android by B&N" available to download on the Market.
When you say "Nook for Android" I assume you mean the latter.
It's strange that the app will not even launch. I'm not sure how it differs from any other android app. The app works fine on my Droid and Droid charge, but won't download certain magazines saying they're unavailable on the app, when they clearly work just fine on the software baked into the Nook Tablet.
Perhaps after someone gets Cyanogenmod stable on the device we will see whether or not there was something baked in that specifically blocked the "Nook for Android" app in the Market.
I was referring to the B&N Nook app from Android market. MOst of the other B&N preloaded apps also stopped working after debloat too
As ckevinwelch mentioned there have been numerous posts about this - including one by me. What I did instead was find the reader.apk, shop.apk and library.apk apps in an old back-up of Ti-Backup I had and installed those after doing a full debloat using indirect's root. Have had no problems since then.... (I've re-rooted a couple of times to take advantage of updates, etc).
edit... I mispoke, it appears that after I did the freeze OTA block (9.9.9) recently, it now shows as unavailable under owner/account in settings, I don't have access to the B&N shop, but my old books are still on my NT and I can read them. It did work when I was listed under owner/account.

If you did the debloat PRIOR to installing and backing up using TI-backup, is there some other place to find and reinstall these apps?
You can get them from the acclaim update zip file (for the magic restore card).

Don't restore from the zip, just pull them out, move them to system/app and install.

I did not do a full debloat and only removed games but I have the same problem and cannot use some of the originally installed B&N apps. I think it is something I have to accept since I rooted the device. I did not install the Nook for Android app.
OK - Did a test last night w/ the following results:
After backing up all my apps and go launcher settings, and using Indirect's unroot app and Indirect's root method I rooted once each using option 5 debloat and option 1 debloat. Both times I registered my NT when the initial welcome screens started.
- With option 5 debloat and OTA block I did not have access to the B&N Shop/Library and couldn't purchase new books. I could re-install the library & reader apps from my back-up and my old stuff was there but no access to buy/download new stuff. Device Info/About Your Nook showed Unavailable for Owner/Account.
- With option 1 debloat and OTA block I do have access to the B&N Shop/Library and was able to purchase and download a new book. Device Info/About Your Nook showed my name and e-mail for Owner/Account.
I find it takes about 45 - 60 min. to completely unroot, reroot and reinstall my apps from back-up (after installing Ti-Backup from the market). Since your computer has already been set-up w/ the drivers to root when you did your intitial root - just start the reroot process w/ the NookandZergy.bat that you have in your c:\ntroot folder.

I have millions of apps and it takes always so much time to download them again. For example If I change rom its annoying to start installing all the needed apps when I t could easily just load the basic software automatically.
Somehow last time my phone did download BeautifulWidgets without my "permission" from the market and installed it.
So any possibilities to make this happen?

That is google backup feature. It will download all your preveously purchased app only.
I would rather suggest to buy Titanium Backup Pro. Damn good for app backup and restore in batch mode. Good filtering . You can even set the location of your app .
You need root permission to run it. But trust me it will be worth purchase...
You can always use MyBackup Root...is free is efficient and can also backup sms mms system settings etc

Seconded, I am a frequent flasher running a nightly ROM, so I live by Titanium Backup. The paid version allows for an express, confirmation free batch restore. Just set it, leave it, then once it's finished, reboot it.

I agree, Titanium Backup is the finest of its league. It'll cost you some money, but its totally worth it.

It also has a ton of other features, but it makes a flashable backup of all your apps then just flash the zip file and all your apps are back. It's much quicker than titanium but i use titanium for data. Best of all its free...

So I would like to have some way that I have list of programs I want and a software would get the apps from the market for me so I don't really need to do anything.

What you're wanting is much more time consuming and less efficient than the suggestions posted here. Your data wouldn't be restored, so you would have to setup the apps again anyway. You'd have to wait for the market to try to download all of those apps at once, which takes longer than restoring. And there are already apps out there that do what you want to do, the apps just aren't redownloaded from the market. Titanium Backup has other features too, and really helps with clean installs.
I don't think that what you want exists, aside from the built in Google backup. If you'd rather keep doing what you're doing instead of using backup/restore software, it's your time to waste.
Hopefully upgrading today to the New One M8 device. I have ATT One X+ now and going to Verizon for the New One. Just curious of how to successfully transfer all my apps and all their data to new device? I know Google will download all my apps once I co figure my new device but how about their data? Like my private photos saved in Vaulty app, my game progress in dead trigger 2, etc?
I don't know if titanium backup is the answer and if it will work as it's backing up on this device then trying to restore app data on HTC New One M8 device?

After I downloaded Asphalt 8 on Blue Stacks, it didn't restore my save games from my HTC (but even Asphalt has an in-build cloud store option). So I've created a backup of my save game using Helium/Carbon and restored it, but I think Titanium should work as well.
If using Helium/Carbon, you are can connect one phone to another using an internet connection. Then, you can choose on one phone "restore app data from other phone" option. While you simply relax, the whole thing is going on... And works!

I wanted to have all my ducks in order before I get my new phone. Worst case I basically saved storage on my device to my laptop so can manually do that for music, photos, etc.
Thing is the New One M8 device does not have root yet so can't even use titanium backup. Does this carbon app work without root?
Thing is I'm trading in my One X+ for my new device so I have to backup my phone to my laptop which I did.
What I'm worried about now though is game data for dead trigger 2. Have a lot of time and money in that game and hate to lose it all when installing on my new device.
Carbon does work without root, my HOX+ is unrooted. The only thing is, you need to connect your phone to your PC once. After that, you can plug it out and use Carbon. You will have to repeat it only if you reboot your device.

Any easy way to do it.
Try helium backup. Also Google's backup works really well. When you get the new device It should restore it. Make sure you have backup and reset on in the existing device.

If you are going to give the nexus 9 another try, there is no need, lollypop backs up all settings and apps (allthough not app settings) and restores them on first setup from the cloud.

No, the data inside the app would be lost, you can use as jd1639 said "helium", which even if you are not root, has a method to backup apps and app data.

What's the best solution to copy app data across from the S7? Will Huawei's Phone Clone app copy all app data?
If not, is there a better solution?
Also, does the Phone Clone app transfer data locally via wifi, or does it bounce everything to an external server?

In Android there is limited option to copy over the apps data unless the phone is rooted. Generally speaking you need to set up your apps again on the M20 Pro.
I have used Huawei's own backup and restore all to migrate over apps from my old Sony phone, they worked but some apps had some issues, so I finally ended up wiping the phone and start fresh, and the problems disappeared.
So probably is best to bite the bullet and set up all your apps from scratch. I know it's not ideal, all my previous phones were rooted and used Titanium Backup to restore apps and data, which without root is not possible.

Thanks, yeah I ended up not using Phone Clone as it crashed on my S7 when trying to connect to my new M20P.
I used Googles restore process which got most of the app data down, still had to set a few things up from scratch though.
