[Q] Using Samsung Kies

Does anybody here use the Samsung Kies synchronization software? If you do, how do you synchronize the Calendar?
My Kies synchronizes the phone with Outlook Contacts with no problems. When I try synchronizing the calendar it claims to have synchronized it but the events do not appear on the phone calendar. This is direct synchronization, not going through Google.

I tried to post the link, but apparently I'm too new still. I can email it if you like, or maybe one of the older guys can post it.

thanks. i downloaded it, and have yet install it. will do later today.
You have to go to the Canadian Samsung App website now to get it.. heard they pulled it from the US site so people would stop installing it to unlock... except, as far as I know, the driver's install anyway without when you plug the phone in...... not sure if they are all the drivers though. I still had to just download the unlock app because the windows program wouldn't find the device =|

With kaiten mail (paid) or k9 mail (free), you will get emails like instant messaging
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
i currently have a modded rom of jelly bean and the system's default mail service works excelent, at least with my hotmail account, they always arrive at the same time (or sometimes even earlier than my hotmail refresh in webpage ,so it generally gets first in my phone). if you dont want to start flashing or changing roms as Jokesy said before, you could you apps. its easier that way.

Google Sync

Hi, I got a question. I want to disable Google contact sync, but I want to keep Google calender sync. On my Desire z I was simply able to uncheck calender. With my S3 I only seem to be able to deactivate Google at once.
Is there a way for me to deactivate contact sync?

[Q] Why does my gmail not sync anymore

Hello everyone. I have been a member for a very long time. However i did not post much. The Q and A section often fulfills all my requirenments as well as google helps. Now here is my problem.
For the past two days, my gmail and google contacts and calenders havent been syncing unless i manually sync using the gmail application. It was working perfectly fine previously.
Could it be something to do with the server. I did recently add my gmail account to a android tablet.
Any help / suggestion would help
Best Regards,
Mo'

Go to the gmail app, click on your account
In the settings, there will be an option for data settings, under which there is a tab: gmail sync is on/off
Select it, and chose your sync interval

Forgot Google account details

Please can anybody help me?
My friend's phone got stuck in a bootloop the other day and the only way to recover it was to do a hard reset. The trouble being he has no idea what his Google account details are. He knows neither his email address or his password. He's never sent an email from his Gmail and never set up an emergency email account for recovery purposes. I've scoured the Internet for a solution but if all you have is your phone number, there doesn't seem to be any way to reinstate your account. His phone isn't rooted as he's not that kind of user. Can anybody help please?

Ok, so he's created a new Google account but obviously can't access all the apps he's paid for. Is there any way to transfer his old account to his new account? Thanks.

Sorry to keep bumping this thread but has nobody ever forgotten both their email address and password before? Any input would be welcome as people might find this thread in the future and find it helpful. Thanks.
