I have an unlocked HTC amaze with the Bulletproof ROM. I am in Europe right now, using an international SIM (MaxRoam), and the data is working just fine but it is not letting me make or receive any calls. Instead I get a text message every time I get a missed call. If I put the SIM in my old unlocked Tilt 2 (Windows Mobile 6.5), I can make and receive calls just fine. Is this a problem with the ROM, or some kind of configuration? My roaming is turned on.
Have you configured the APN? It should change it with the SIM but it won't hurt to check.
Wait....I sent this with Tapatalk?
yes i have configured the APN, and the data works just fine - i just can't make or receive calls
Turn off your 3G/4G. Make sure it is on GSM Only, not WCDMA.

I have a Sprint One Max that I rooted, s-offed, super cid, and sim unlocked and have a Strait Talk at&t sim card in it , talk , text , and data speeds are great ( at&t strait talk sim data speeds are faster than the t-mobile strait talk sim in my HTC Sensation even) but I can't get MMS to work and even with using hangouts or go sms with apn's set for strait talk its hit or miss on downloading and sending MMS .
I was getting the vdm client has stopped error on phone boot up but after replacing the HtcOMADM_SPCS.apk used for the sim unlock with the stock one from stock rooted rom that error is gone now butI have read that sim unlocking the one max (cdma) and running on gsm network is what is causing the problem but I was wondering if there is a work around or anything that might fix the mms problem or is that just the trade off using cdma phone with gsm sim card ?
Do you have the correct APN settings for straight talk??
I have the same phone but I'm using NET10 AT&T SIM Card and at first when I went thru the process I had to update the Apn settings so MMS would work correctly

I'm using one on T-Mobile and my MMS isn't working either. I sent myself a test mms this morning and it went through. Then my friend sent me one and it went through. I then tried to send one to another friend about an hour later and it didn't work. Just sent another test to myself and it's not going through.
Edit: Try using a different sms app like Textra. I switched over to that and it appears my mms are going through. I've sent several to myself and it's worked. Waiting to here back from my friend if he's receiving them as well.
Hi, guys!
I'd need some help with my D620(V10g).
2 days ago I've got a 4G sim, and an unlimited 4G plan, I've selected LTE only in the secret menu (in the "RAT Selection") and 4G worked just fine, but I knew I couldn't receive any call on LTE only, so I switched to GSM/ WCDMA/ LTE. However, I can make calls for about 1 hour everytime I reselect GSM/ WCDMA/ LTE.
Here comes the first problem, sometimes if I make a call, it switches to 3G (I don't know how to activate VOLTE, I don't even know if I can do that) and after I finish the call it doesn't go back to 4G, I have to restart the phone to use 4G again.
Another thing is that sometimes, If I'm connected on 4g for a long time, it simply doesn't let me make a call, it's like the phone would switch itself to LTE only.
The first problem is not that bad, it's not hard to restart the phone to make 4g work again, but the second one is full of pain... I don't want to lose calls.
I would appreciate any kind of help, thanks in advance!
After a call the phone goes back to 4G quite a long time. And everytime someone calls me phone goes directly to 3G and everything works fine. In hidden menu (*#*#4636#*#*) I have put there LTE/GSM/WCDMA and everything works just fine.
Hi !
Recently I bought this LG but I have this problem:
I put my sim on it and can use LTE , download stuff , facebook, whatsapp and everything connected w / internet , but I can not make or receive phone calls or sms . When I dial a number that says " network number not avaible ."
I've tried with another simcard and moved to Cm11 and CM12 but without effect.
Can anyone help ? :crying:
Sorry for the bad english
You can't make or receive calls when only LTE is enabled. LTE frequency doesn't support calls. You should try dialing *#*#4636#*#* and then select the first one. Scroll down a bit and then select the network type: LTE/GSM/WCDMA. I have this selected and everytime someone calls, phone automatically switches from LTE to WCDMA/3G. After the call it turns automatically back to LTE.

Where did you get the SIM from?
Were you ever able to do calls with that SIM in any other phone?
Maybe it is a data only SIM, like sold for tablets or laptops.
I would try it with a different SIM card.

Nope, I never could text or make phone calls, and the problem isn't the SIM because right now it's in other phone and works fine.
Same problem with mine, 3G/2G data is working fine but the phone won't let me do a call ("no network" available). This happened on the kitkat rom, and since that I upgraded to the official Lollipop rom (through OTA) bu the problem remain the same...
The strange thing is that the phone just came from repair (the touch screen stopped to work without no reason... ), hoppefully it was under waranty... but now the waranty is over so I don't know what to do except maybe putting this phone on a trash, but it would be a such waste...
If anyone have an idea about the problem, it is hightly welcomed!
I want to use my first sim for 3g texting and calls and 4g texting and calls (something a few operators in the uk are doing now).
I want to use my second sim for 3g data and 4g data for google maps, browsing and whatsapp (4g coverage isnt amazing in the uk)
I still want to use the first sim for 3g and 4g data but only when I can't get signal with the second sim, but I want it to signify it's doing so or to ask for permission.
I still want to receive calls and texts on the second sim using either the 3g or 4g network, depending on what is in range. I still want to make calls and send texts from the second sim, but only to contacts who are saved under that particular sim, and not very often.
If someone is saved under the contact of sim 1 or 2, I don't want it to message or calls them from the other sim without consent.
When i'm browsing I still want to be able to receive calls and texts on either sim, interrupting the browsing if necessary.
Is this something I'll be able to do easily without having to constantly switch the settings of the sim cards or the settings of the phone?
The thing if I've ordered one but I haven't opened it yet. I was hoping to make sure that it works the way I was hoping it works before opening it, or if I should just return it.
Just what the title says. My phone tells callers that I'm not accepting calls and when I attempt to make calls it simply refuses to do so or displayed a "call ended" message without ever dialing the other person. Everything else works fine and I can even make voice calls if I use duo mode instead of mobile. I can also receive calls if the caller uses duo mode.
Have been through everything except an actual reset. Unable to do that since the phone was a hand-me-down and I don't know the PIN. I've about reached the point where I do a hard reset manually but I hate to lose my data. Does anyone have anything I could try to either bypass or recover the PIN or something I could use to get mobile mode to work again?
Your sure you have service? If you do, do you have credit? Both of those would prevent you making calls. You can still use Duo if your on WiFi or you have a data only service. If you are showing that your connected to the network and you are certain you have minutes in your plan or credit available then you will need to call your network provider so they can see if there's any network issues preventing your calls. Check the network operators status page to see if there's issues in your area.
@Nofsdad
It appears that when using a Galaxy S9+ with ATT service the phone is unable to do VoLTE
The way that I was able to have internet on the phone and voice calling was to go into the APN and set the Network Mode to 3G/2G (auto connect)
That fixed it for me. Still pissed off that I can't use LTE but oh well it will work until I upgrade the phone.

Hello, I have an unlocked s9 that is going through a similar issue in not being able to make or receive calls. Can you let me know how you got the APN settings for 3G/2G? Going to APN settings I only see the nxgenphone setting open and active, which I heard was for LTE.
Also, can you let me know what setting it has to be in the 4636 mobile network settings in order to restore data? Thanks
