[Q] Bluetooth GPS link issues on stock rom ? - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi there !
I'm facing a problem regarding an external GPS link on my SGA 5830: with a Nokia LD-3W bluetooth GPS adapter turned on (green led blinking) and resetted, my phone doesn't even recognize it.
- tried different stock ROMs, same problem;
- tried several CM 7 flavours, my BT GPS link works like a charm, best signal, accurate positioning; in CM7 can select GPS source
- tried some other devices with BT capabilities: phone2phone/phone2computer file transfer or BT headset, pairing/working perfect, nu issues.
- the LD-3W module is woking just fine paired with other phones, no matter brand, or OS (Nokia/Samsung/...)
Looks like my phone recognizes all the BT devices, except my LD-3W, or looks like my phone is "locked" on internal GPS.
Any ideas ? Some modding, scripting fixes, "secret" codes, anything ?
Device: SGA with stock ROMs 2.3.5-2.3.6.
Please, don't advise CM7 or other custom rom. The stock camera is the best and I'm really using it.

I have the LD-3W too.
Seems there is a problem with several Samsung devices using external bluetooth GPS. The internal GPS has to be turned on!
To pair the LD-3W first time, the code is 0000.
Steps:
* Turn on bluetooth. Don't worry if the LD-3W shows as "Paired but not connected".
* Then you need to change the GPS Source (Settings/Location and Security/GPS Source) to select the LD-3W. This turns off the internal GPS.
* Then you need to turn on the internal GPS! (Settings/Location and Security/Use GPS Satellites).
You will see your LD-3W dark blue light start up to show the bluetooth connection and the satellite (circle) indicator on the Ace will start flashing.
Don't forget you'll need to change the GPS source again if you want to use the Internal GPS. I always forget to do this
Good luck!!
EDIT:
Just realised I am on CM 7.2 and these options mightn't be available on stock ROMs.
You may be able to try Bluetooth GPS Provider from the market if you are on a stock ROM. I've used it on my tablet with the LD-3W. You will probably still need to turn the internal GPS on.

[Q] Unstable music via bluetooth

Hi,
When I play music on me phone, via a bluetooth music device, the music has dropout's. It doesn't seem to be a signal strenth problem, as it still doesn't work if the phone is very near to the device.
I've tryid with SE's own Bluetooth loudspeaker and a bluetooth receiver from Belkin..
Is that a known issue?
I'm on Android ver 2.1
All the best, Kent.
turn off your wifi. =]
I know this because I used to have a bt keyboard and it would type like this "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllppppppppppppppppppp mmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeee" lierally. I did some research online, and it told me to turn of wifi, which I did and the keyboard worked fine now. Same as my nice old Nokia BT-505
hope I helped !
Bluetooth
Thanks I'm rather sure it helped to turn off me wifi. I'll have to wait a little time though, as it did work for some hours before I saw the problem.
I'll get back to you when my test is done
Thanks again.
Thanks
It's works like wonders. No dropouts at all
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
just for information with Wolfs GB there are also no drop out with bluetooth headset and WiFi turned on.

[Q] how to make bluetooth work in my car on energy ROM

So I have my amaze set up with everything working just as I would want it thanks to energy ROM (and HD Widgets, timerific, Apex Launcher, ..) There is on relatively major thing still giving me problem though. That's bluetooth connection for my car. In the energy ROM thread there are others reporting similar problems, so what can be done to fix this?
I have energy ROM and faux kernel - V19
I tried both settings - only visible to paired phones and no visibility timeout .. with same results
When I first add the phone to the car, the bluetooth pairing works, I can use car's bluetooth system to call out, receive a call etc.
Once I shut off the car and restart the car bluetooth connection fails.
If I turn off bluetooth on phone and turn it back on, bluetooth connection fails.
I tried to change the kernel to rubystock.zip from kozmik's thread. However, after I installed that kernel using 4ext recovery, the phone never booted
Anyone had success with other kernels, tweaks? Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Tried Faux 23b4 .. same results
So my current workaround is to add my phone to the car everytime I want to use bluetooth

[Q] S3 Bluetooth not Auto connecting

I have the following problem with my S3. Most of the times I use my phone with Bluetooth. Since before rooting my device I had the same issue.
I get normal Bluetooth connection with my phone everything works great but when the phone and Bluetooth is disconnected they do not connect automatically. for example when the Bluetooth disconnects from my hands free due to distance when I get back close they don’t pair again.
At moment I am using:
Sotmax v14
Yank555 latest kernel
Baseband: XXELLA
I had the same issue with all stock Roms. When I used CM10.1 the Bluetooth worked as it should without any issue. In general all 4.2.1 roms work ok and the phone auto connects almost instantly.
I have tried many Hands frees (Plantronics, Samsung, and many others) the same thing happens every time.
I am also using an app Auto Bluetooth which is very useful for reserving battery when using Bluetooth hands free. Basically what the app does for those who do not know, it turns Bluetooth automatically on up on receiving a call and off when the call is ended. In my case when the Bluetooth is turned on it does not connect automatically with the phone
So my question is simple.. has anyone solved the problem?
I apologize for my poor English but I did my best. I also searched the forum but I did not find anything related.

GPS Dongle Fix Problem

Hi! I want to ask you something:
I am using HB 2.2 with Hunds Kernel, all is working properly, only the GPS doesn't work so well. I tried using GPS Status with the GPS Dongle attached to my TF, he sees some satellites, but he can't fix them, they suddenly disappear.
I don't know if is a ROM problem, kernel problem or what else.
There's something I can do?
Thanks.
I have read some tips on the Internet. That was useful for me. I will post it here so if someone need that, can read!
Here's the step by step to setup GPS BT Streaming to a TF201 :
1) root the PHONE (not the Tablet)
2) download "Bluetooth GPS" on the prime (or tablet) by googoo android. This will receive the GPS signal over bluetooth.
3) enable mock locations under developer settings on the prime settings
4) download a GPS to Bluetooth app on the PHONE. There are several
4.1) I use "Bluetooth gps" by meowsbox free trial 1.49 full version
4.2) you will need to grant su privileges to the GPS to Bluetooth app you use
4.3) some apps work better with certain phones
5) start GPS and gps streaming utilizing utility from #4 on the phone
6) pair phone and prime under bluetooth settings, in the settings menu of both tech.
7) open up Bluetooth GPS on the prime choose the PHONE from the dropdown source menu and click connect
8) you should now be able to utilize GPS as if it were native on the prime
8.1) you can see feed from bluetooth gps, see sats with GPS test, utilize maps or special nav charts e.g. boats planes etc.

Issue with ANT+ services and Oreo

Hi there,
I have an LGV30 (AT&T), stock ROM
Except the signal issues I am pretty happy with it.
I was wondering if anyone can help me on this one and thank you all in advance.
My issue (since the Oreo update) is when I connect my Garmin USB ANT Stick via OTG cable the phone starts behaving weirdly.
First of all the ANT+ services don't work correctly (as they used to with Nougat) meaning the fitness apps that need the ANT+ sensors cant find them.
And second the Bluetooth icon at the top starts blinking and all Bluetooth devices are disconnected. The Bluetooth cannot be switched on or off anymore. The switch in settings is grayed out and cannot be used.
I think there is some connection/mix up with ANT+ services and Bluetooth radio and in the end none of them works.
The only way to make Bluetooth work again is by unplugging the USB ANT Stick and restart the phone.
What I have tried so far:
Disable all radio connections manually before plugging in the USB ANT Stick. Same result: Bluetooth icon flashing and neither the ANT+ services work or Bluetooth.
Different OTG cable. Same effect.
Different USB ANT Stick. Same story.
Different apps. Same thing.
Tried different modes for the OTG connection: Charging mode , Power supply, MTP etc. to no avail.
The USB ANT Stick on my old Nexus 7 (running stock Marshmallow) works with no issues.
LG V30 ant+
I was never able to get ant+ to work on my V30. That said, by uninstalling all ant+ related apps and clearing bluetooth cache, I was able to connect my Garmin Vector 3 pedals and Wahoo KICKR simultaneously and powermatch using trainerroad. Garmin Connect also worked well.
