[Q] nt recovery flasher says its having an error - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

So i have a problem putting cm7 on my nt when i goto revery flash and press flash cwm it says"Could not flash recovery java.io.IOExeption:Error running exec(.)command.[su] working directory null environment:null"what do i do to fix this do i need to reroot my nt?

It's worth a try to re-root. I don't believe I've ever seen that error before. You have the 16GB NT, correct?

Yes i have a 16gb NT

I'm just throwing out a wild guess, but it looks like you don't have superuser on the device at all, which means it's prob a stock device and haven't rooted before. Am I correct on that? I did a double take, and noticed that you rooted the device before..did the nook update itself? Do you still have root access?
If you have an sd card, you can write the sd card to boot CWM (found here) and install CM7 from there, or else you have root the device to get CWM on it and then install cm7 that way

I do have super user and have rooted my NT

If you can get to your app manager, either through hidden settings app or es file explorer, try clearing data on superuser

just tried that now it wont open recovery flasher and now it wont mount to my computer

[SOLVED] CWM Sd problem

Trying to root my cousins Vibrant. It's rooted, and i flashed CWM from Rom manager, but for some reason on the computer it doesn't show the root of the sd card, no android related junk, and then when I try and flash a custom rom it doesn't show the zips on cwm and if i click /sd it errors and goes back.
Edit: nevermind, figured out when it's in mass storage it shows two different ones.

Rooting Stock ICS Rezound

So I just update to ICS and tried to root it. I was able to flash the touch clockwork recovery okay but have been unable to mount the internal SD card. So I tried AMON RA recovery same problem I was unable to mount the SD card. So I went to the develper menu and from there they have an option to insatall super user. I did and am able to open the super user but it does not give me root access when the prompt is suppose to pop up nothing comes up. I also tried to set auto respose to allow still nothing. Any help in the matter would be appreciate. I really want all this G-d damn bloat frozen...
UPDATE: I have been able to mount an external SD card with clockworkmod touch. Now running fully rooted! Cant wait to freeze all the stupid apps...
try this superuser from the google play http://goo.gl/oDB2s

Clockwork Mod Recovery Issue?

I just installed the newest CWM through the phone emulator. Recovery says that it is the latest version as I installed, but it is not able to access the external SD card anymore? Or sorta, cause I can see of the things there, but if I pick external sd card it says file not found. Not sure what happened. I have tried to unmount and remount sd card. Any ideas?

I noticed the same thing. I'm going back to RA.
I have installed CWM 5.8.4.8 using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639673
Had originally installed CWM using this method:
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...-on-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-belltelusrogers/
So is it possible that I didnt update CWM correctly or is it the version that has these issues?
Suggest you revert to the CWM image found in the "note everything" thread, and flash via Odin...
Bigjoe has it nailed down tight....then stick with the version..
the card read issue is not found in the original CWM version....so stay with it....IMHO
Ok I used Odin again to install CWM through it and is working again. Is there a way to update CWM through odin?
The "older version" works the same as the later (better actually) so later isn't an improvement. Like gregsarg said, stick with the version you have.

[Q] CMW Cant mount SD card, please help!

Hi,
I have not long bought my first tablet - its an ly-f1 / alldro speed etc clone. It came with android 4.0.4 and was already rooted. Play store access isn't bad for standard, i have found most things i have looked for, although some say device is not compatible - for example the speedtest.net app and itv player. There's some it cant find either like grand theft auto 3 for example.
The performance for the tablet is ok but i understand a custom rom could improve it and also give better play store access/compatibility. So i started looking at what roms were available, i found troys CM9 and CM10, so wanted to try CM9 first. This is where i started running into problems. Mainly finding everything i needed - CMW, ADB drivers etc.. oh and mounting the sdcard! as below..
I managed to find CMW 6 for the ly-f1, which i copied across onto the tablet and ran using a shell to install it. I copied across the CM9, compatibility and gapps zip files to the internal sdcard. So far so good, however......
when i rebooted into CMW and went to "install zip from sdcard" then "choose zip from internal sdcard" it comes up saying "cant mount /emmc/"
If i try "choose zip from sdcard" rather than internal sdcard, it says "cant mount /sdcard" - to be expected as i dont have one in it! but i cant figure out why the internal one doesn't work and the whole thing is doing my head in! so need help!
When the tablet is on i can get into the internal sdcard fine and if i connect it to the pc i can see it fine. I've looked around google and the forums and tried a few various things with no joy - for example i tried copying everything off the internal sdcard and formatting it - done this through the android setttings and through windows - both fat32 and ntfs just to see, none made any difference.
I then thought i'd try find another version of CMW in case it was that, i found a version 5 which is when i required the ADB drivers as it was a different method for installing it - got it installed and it rebooted into CMW but i had the exact same problem, still cant mount it, so i am still unable to flash to a new rom.
Am i missing something?? I am quite new to all this so not sure if i need to do anything else first or for this to work such as new kernels or something? Is there another method i can use to flash the device? I know theres livesuite but not sure if this is suitable for CM9 since theres 3 zips that need installed? i cant understand why it cant mount the internal sdcard, any ideas??
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks
D
Can anyone please help? I want to flash CM9 or CM10 as above.
I found a version 5 and 6 of cwm for the ly-f1/clones and installed it, can reboot into recovery but everytime i go to install zip from sdcard it says it cant mount it.
What is the best version of cwm to use and where can i get it? I take it there is no other method to install CM9/10, it must be done using cwm? Do i need to do anything other than simply having a rooted device and installing cwm to get it all to work?
any help much appreciated!

[Q] sd card wont mount in CWM, can't install SU

Not a noob to rooting but stuck trying to root my Tmobile S2. I followed the directions using ODIN to install CWM 5.xxxx but when trying to flash Superuser CWM will not mount the sd card. Reinstalled CWM, formatted the sd card several times to no avail.
Any ideas? I found one thread but it had no resolution.
Also, I'm on 2.3.6 and when I click on Software Update in Settings it says "no firmware". Is that right? Kies says I need an update but when I initiate the update, it downloads the update and promptly closes the Kies app and nothing happens.
Any help is appreciated.
thx.

I9100?
Flash a ROM, what are you even doing in GB?
Try other type of sd card. The first time i install custom rom on my Galaxy ace Phone,my sd card could mount on CMW.After a month,my sd card was stolen.I use other sd card that has a Micro Sd card name on it diference from my old one(I forget it name).CMW cannot mount it.(E:Can't mount sd).I recomended you to use other type of sd.

Simply flash CWM on your phone . I recommend to use Zip file rather than Odin but you can use if you want.
Then put any custom rom on your internal sf / ext sd card and flash it from recovery mod.
