Only your carrier will know that. No one here will be able to tell you this.

[Q] Rooting question on galaxy note

I would like to root my galaxy note ATT version that I received today, but I want to make sure if I use the root method uploaded by roloracer <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962>, will I be able to receive ICS update in the future from ATT? I heard that I have to have stock rom or factory condition as to receive ICS update. So, I was wondering if I root my galaxy note with roloracer's method on dev forum, I will be able to receive ICS update in the future for sure. Can anyone or roloracer confirm on it? I wanted to ask question on
Bump for any helpful response

If you want the official ota then yeah there will be ics on a custom rom way before the ota from att

Not to be negative, but it could be quite a long time before we see the ICS ota. Especially if the Apple/gnex lawsuit has any teeth that force immediate changes to ICS. Then even so, it hasn't even been released for the INT Notes yet. Best case imo....July. Worst case....fall 2012.
Even rooted though, you could flash back to the stock img and get an ota. If that is really the goal.

Sounds like a sensible answer.

So you could be seeing it in the coming weeks too.

Android 4.0 has been out since mid march... And the Bell i9100 supports all ROMs on these forums. Why wait for the Bell version? It won't come anytime soon I think... We're always 6 months behind in Canada, which is why I buy international phones.
Do you have a link for a no problem bs Ics update?

Stock? There are tons of ROMs all over the place, you can read up in general, all new ICS releases are posted there which are flashable by Odin or Mobile Odin...
If you want Custom ROMs, you have Wanam lite, ICS resurrection, Cyanogenmod 9, etc.etc.etc.etc.
Well since I'm on my phone with out a comp at the moment... So any direct link to an official no bs Ics would be super helpful with lots of rep sent

[Q] Latest Firmware help!!

I live in Ireland and on three network.
current Android version: 4.0.4
Current Build Number: I9300XXALE8
I tried to update OTA but "no update available" is what I get.
Then I tried kies and the current version matches the latest version.
I know I'm not up to date as I don't hav the brightness toggle in my drop down menu.
Does anybody know how to fix this??
I really need your help!
Check the update schedule with your carrier.. you have to wait until 3 releases the update..

Do you know how to do that?
I recently read an article on this site and one guy updated his s3 and he was on three, thanks for your help though
If the update isn't available, then your carrier hasn't released it yet. I could 've wrong. Maybe call them up and check?
I live in Australia, and Vodafone recently released an update but it's still not available. It usually takes some time to get to everyone.. just wait a few days..

I guess I could wait. But I didn't even receive the first firmware update released for the s3, and I think that was some time ago. Did you receive any updates yet on your s3?
No.. I'm still on release firmware.. the first of the first.. I'm having so many bugs.. I'm considering flashing an unbranded ROM via Odin.. carriers take forever to update..

I taught I was the only one! Thanks for the reply I was thinking of flashing too but I'll wait a little longer.
Same.. I found this link.. maybe it can be helpful in the future if you decide to flash an unbranded ROM..

Internal sources of SamMobile confirm that Samsung is testing in these days the official firmware Jelly Bean for his Galaxy S II. The update via Kies would be expected for September/October 2012 ....
october/november 2012
Truly? Nobody knows for sure. There is 13 leaked JB firmware and it's still buggy. I'm certainly sure it will be released before Christmas Maybe next month.

There is no need for you to open another Jellybean thread. There is a sticky, dedicated thread already for this in the general section: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736726
The problem is, people like you don't like to read the sticky threads or even search for one second before creating bogus threads.
....this is sure a soon to be closed thread.
