Hi,
I did a test remote wipe from an Exchange 2007 server and now the phone just displays the Nokia startup screen. Any thoughts/help would be greatly appricated.
Regards
Update:
Finally got the phone to wake up, though it's not happy.
It now just sits at the Installing appilcations phase of the setup process. Also the phone will only remain power up as long as a usb lead connected to a power souce is pluged in. Unplug the lead and the phone powers down. The phone will not power up untill the lead is reconnected at which point the phone setup process starts from the begining.
Regards
Note to-self, dont try the exchange remote wipe......it works ;-)
Keep the phone in the charger overnight and then see if it powers fully in the morning, failing that try a hard reset.
Wow, do share with us the outcome.
Well, managed to get the phone up and running again but every time the phone I turned the phone off, upon switch on it went though the phone set up process again. Not looking good. Tried a hard reset, the phone returned by displaying the empty battery screen. Phones been on charge of the last 2 days with no results. I now have a brick. Best I can get out of it is a single buzz if I try a herd reset. Turning the phone on achieves nothing. No display, no nothing.
Glad I did this and not one of my users!!
Any thoughts/help in resurrecting a dead 800.
Regards
flash using the Nokia Care suite...that will get it working.

It was unlocked and working perfect until the battery went completely dead and wasnt charged back up for a week. After pluging in the charger I was unable to do a complete charge as the pda keeps starting up. It runs for about a minute or two then restarts and boots back up, the cycle continues with no end. I got to work for about 10 ten minutes, the phone worked, the charger was active in the battery option menu, but then it started all over again. I've reflashed and changed roms. The amber charge light does appear. Also hard reset doesnt work. Please help, bought the phone used but only got to enjoy it for a day.!
It maybe the battery is banjaxed, I have seen similar behaviour with an ipaq and a defunct battery.
if not its board memory
if im right yourin big trouble u have to replace the whole main boards .. i hope im wrong it juist bthe battery.
good luck bro
I have a Cingular 3125, working fine for weeks, happened that two days ago, I was charging the phone and transferring files to my computer via Bluetooth, nothing unusual, then it just got frozen, nothing responding, so I just took out the battery to manual reset the device and reinserted it, then tried to turn on the device, but it refuses to boot, no lights at all, also when I attach the phone charger, it doesnt show the usual orange led when charging, but I can feel that the phone gets warmer because the charger is attached and then after a while it gets a bit cooler, just like when it finishes charging, the usual behavior, but again, no lights at all trying to boot it or even attaching the charger, I've tried taking the battery off for hours and nothing also, and I wasnt overclocking the phone... would you say it just died? or maybe someone had same issues and solved it someway? thanks.
try this
OK, I don't remember where I read this, or the exact procedure, but give this a try.
remove the battery, press and hold the red call end key (power key) for 30-45 seconds. insert battery and do a hard reset, IE.. power on holding the 2 top soft keys while powering on the phone.
this method is supposed to clear any mother board issues and reset the phone. It has been a couple of years since I read the procedure so I am not sure if this is the correct way, if it does not work, try the same thing, only try taking the battery out, then put it back in and press and hold the power key for 30 - 45 seconds.
may or may not work, but can't hurt to try.
i had the same problem with startrek which i had bought from eBay
one more advice - try to hold record (notes) and camera buttons and insert an USB cable to your PC, it should enter to Bootloader mode
well, I have dissasembled the whole thing, I havent reached anything, even disconnected the backup battery, nothing, have checked battery with a multimeter and is full loaded... in short, someway the cell phone seems has just died, Erofich, to enter bootloader mode, the phone must turn on, it just doesnt want to start at all, no lights when connecting charger or USB cable... I'm sad because it was working fine with no problems for three months and more sad because it's the end for me to windows cellphones for a long time, I've invested a lot in this phone, accesories, unlocking, and even the same day it died also bought more memory and a neat skin cover and I'm not in mood to invest more in a cell phone so I'll use a spare crappy feature phone.
Thanks for your support.
one last effort
You could try one last thing, this has worked for me with a couple of startreks,
take the phone apart, and take the motherboard out, use a hair dryer to heat the motherboard, don't get crazy with it, but using the hair dryer on the high setting for about 30 to 45 seconds at about 3-5 inches, might revive the phone. (don't heat the battery, just the motherboard)
Put the phone back together while it is still hot (but not so hot that it will burn your fingers) and try to fire it up.
This has worker for me in 3 cases (phones that I bought off eBay that had the same symptoms as you have described)
good luck
big problem!!!!!!!!
I have been struggling to flash (again) the great pro V2 rom, but I always used my VMWare based XP windows version on my Vista laptop. Today I could use a genuine XP Laptop and I could make a connection and start the upgrade!
Sounds good? That's what I thought too, until the upgrade stopped at 70% (and I didn't touch anything), because of a connection error. I followed the text on my PC screen and I finally it started flashing again for a few seconds and then my startrek suddenly restarted, but it stops at the first splash screen! I tried to get my device back to bootloader mode (push 2 soft buttons and start), but no bootloader mode, only the 1st splash.
I solved the problem.
Well back again with new problem.
Have just had my phone back after it was repaired only a week ago by samsung; they repaired the software, replaced screen, battery and USB port. Now my unrooted phone, with only usual apps, has again failed on me. Was on the home screen, nothing else running, and it turned itself of. After a minute turned itself back on, held at the Logo, and then turned of again. Now it wont turn on what so ever. Its not got hot, its not got cold, its not been in a room with steam, its been sat in a decent zenus case, in a house with radiators etc on.
I seem rather unlucky with phones, my old Nokia 5800 went into repair 6 times, until I gave up and brought a £10 phone, that I'm having to use again now.
I have tried charging, despite the fact it was still 62% full when the phone went of. I don't do extreme sports with the thing, I barely use the phone, yet it still keeps breaking. Disappointed, because the phones pretty decent, but starting to feel like I don't do well with them.
Rant over.
Update: Just tried after 30 minutes to turn it on. It turned on for about 15 seconds, got into the unlock screen, unlocked, went to the menu screen and it turned itself of. I put the charger straight in, was charged up to 59% anyway, but thought maybe might be battery... But doesn't seem to be.
Wont turn on/Charge again. The phone is fine temp.
What you're describing could be a phone with a drained battery.
So check the battery with a voltmeter and check the charger. One (or both if you're really unlucky) of them could be busted.
Edit: You can check the charger by plugging your phone to your PC and charging it from there. If it works then it's the charger if it doesn't then check the battery.
Is all else fails return the phone to a service center.
Try this-
Take out the battery, then press and hold the ON button for 7-10 seconds (the longer the better). Reinsert the battery, then press ON button to start it. This is a soft reset, and wipes the temporary memory and empties all remaining power in the circuits. This helps on many phones and even laptops that won't start properly or show anything on screen.
If this does not work, try the next step. Again, do as above. But after inserting the battery, do not turn the phone on, but press and hold the ON button and the HOME button at the same time for 7-10 seconds. This is a hard reset, and works best if done after a soft reset. Just be sure the battery has at least some juice in it and isn't empty. If possible, try with another battery if this does not work.
I read earlier about a similar problem and it turned out to be a loose fitting battery. They put some foam or something at the bottom of the battery so that it would stay tight and retain contact.
You could probably test for this by removing the back cover and pushing the battery upwards while powering on.

Awesome Advice
Thanks MichaelAmrs
I have had some serious trouble with my GS2 not working and the latest has been it not turning on. I stuck my battery in the freezer and then did what you suggested and it worked like a charm. Instead of getting it to boot I tried putting it in Download mode and was able to install the Stock ROM on it and hopefully now it will last. But if nothing else at least it is turning on again.
Good luck.
Hi i purchased the phone in January the phone has been working fine no problems at all until last night. I was playing football manager which i imagine is quite a heavy game to play but something i do regularly and have no issue usually. i got a text so i switched to whatsapp and the phone crashed, so i did a hard reset holding the power button down and it booted backup but then crashed again immediate.
tired to do the hard reset again but it just went to a black screen and haven't been able to turn it back on again since.
so basically the phone is non responsive to anything i'm not getting a charging sign or any sort of sign the phone is working no vibrations sound nothing. the battery was on about 80% before it went of so pretty confident that's not dead.
things i've tried so far:
Hard reset holding down the power button
boot select holding down the power button and volume down button.
I've been trying to connect it to my laptop now this is a slight positive but where i've come up stuck, the laptop makes the sound as if its been connected then 5 seconds later it will disconnect then reconnect disconnect and so on.
I've changed the power setting for usb ports no change, i've tried holding down the power button on the phone as to reset it incase it stuck in boot mode or something but no change.
My next step is to take the back of the phone and remove the battery for 30 seconds or so. but with the phone still being under warranty i'm a
bit reluctant to do that plus i'm pretty confident its a software issue.
Update: after deciding to open it up i've disconnected the batter and the screen plugged it in and still getting the same connection/disconnection issue. it will connect then disconnect within 5 seconds max thne connect and disconnect. thought disconnection the battery may do the trick as i haven't tried to flash it or anything like that just gone wrong on it's own. I've now voided my warrenty but want to get this sorted anyone got any idea as to what could be causing the issue?
Thank you for taking the time to read it all and suggestions are appreciate thank you

Thanks for replying, that's what I've been trying to do but the phone won't stay connected to a pc. I connect to the pc and it will disconnect within 5 seconds then reconnect disconnect just constantly doing that. I thought Maybe if I unplug the battery it may get it out of that loop but even with the battery disconnected as soon I connect it to usb it still does the same loop. It hasn't got any lights or vibrations, to look at the phone it's non responsive thee only response I can get it the computer connecting and disconnecting constantly.

That mean that, your phone is waiting for flash and when it don't get it it just restart and do the same think. It happended to me when i flashed wrong twrp. Just select firmware in sp-flash tool and click download. Than plug your phone into your pc and wait for next restart. If nothing happens you will have to download mediatek drivers.
(My english is really bad, i really sorry) Hello good evening. Excuse me, did you find any solution? Did you request a guarantee from UMIDIGI? What happens is that I was charging the phone and started watching YouTube, in an instant the phone went off and did not want to turn on definitively. It does not respond to my PC or the charger.
I clarify that the entry is good, I had 40% and I set about the task of looking for more problems of this style and I found two similar to mine, and yours would be the third problem that I see of this nature. Should I contact support and ask for a guarantee? I don't know what to do. Thanks.
As the title suggests I have an old Z2 tablet that has been an absolute work horse for many years. I was using it one night and the Android OS prompted me that the device hadn't been rebooted in 28 days. So after I was done using it for the night I rebooted it. Only, it didn't reboot it just stayed off. I tinkered with it for a while and got it to show the Sony logo but then it just went dark again. The device is rooted and I have TWRP on it. So when I got it to turn on again I booted it into the TWRP recovery. I proceeded to clear the cache and also attempted to make a current backup. However, the backup would fail after running for several minutes. I decided to try backing up to an external OTG USB drive but the device needed to be rebooted to detect that the OTG USB drive was attached. So from TWRP I selected "reboot recovery".
Unfortunately that was the last time it worked. The screen will not come at all. When I hold volume+ and power it vibrates 3 times but still doesn't boot. I plugged it into the charger even though the battery charge last showed at 85%, but with the cable connected the charge light doesn't even come on. I tried plugging it into my computer but it doesn't detect the device has been connects and adb devices doesn't show anything in the list.
I read on a forum to try drying it out with a hair dryer and while the device hasn't ever gotten wet it has been humid here so I figured what the heck. Unfortunately that also hasn't resolved the issue.
Pretty much everything I've tried hasn't worked. Even the red reset button under the top panel just causes it to vibrate 3 times.
The device has been in this state for a week now. I was hoping maybe the battery would die and then I could recharge it, but since it still vibrates 3 times I'm guessing the battery still has a charge.
One thought I had is that maybe the internal storage is either dead or corrupted.
At this point I'm wondering if the device is a lost cause and I should just let it rest in peace or if there's any other solution. Even if there was a way to factory reset it from it's current state that would be better than having it be a paper weight.
Any suggestions beyond what I've already tried would be greatly appreciated. And, yes, I may look into seeing if I can get it serviced however there's definitely no warranty and I don't really want to poor money into it since it's probably time for an upgrade anyway.
Why is my phone vibrating 3 times and won't turn on? - Sony Xperia Z5
When I try to turn my phone on it just vibrates 3 times and does nothing after that, just wondering what the problem could be?? - Sony Xperia Z5
www.ifixit.com
The device vibrated 3 times, that's good, then it is off.
"Sony writes: This is how you force the device to turn off:
Press and hold the power button and the volume (+) button simultaneously until the device vibrates three times."
Did you try to put the device into flash mode after that? I think only a complete flash will bring the device back to life.
