[Q] Vibration for Notifications Not Working

My phones notifications have spontaneously stopped working. Was working tonight and today it isn't.
It no longer vibrates for all notifications including sms, email, Whatsapp, facebook etc. Vibration for calls and haptic feedback work fine.
I am using the stock rom. Tried jiggling all settings and many soft resets to no avail.
Any ideas? Please help!

Make sure once again that Vibration set to 'Always' under Sound - Settings.
Yes that was the first thing I tried haha

And you made sure that under Email app it is also set to Always?
Yes that and every single app that creates notifications. As I said this problem spontaneously manifested itself. It literally appeared overnight when everything had been fine and dandy before which is why I am so stumped.

Help! anyone else any ideas?

Well certainly the last option is to do a Factory Reset, what else could it be anyway? Make sure to Back up stuffs before

Hi Guys,
I think you didn't got my point correctly the problem i am facing is not the sound notification. When i access the sms messages the press the back button there is a creech type of bell sounds come and when a new sms arrives the creech bell sound along with my notification sound of sms is also coming how to solve this. This only happens in stock sms application. I am using unnamed rom v1.2. Any suggestions to solve this. Thanks in advance.

Notification and call vibration broken

So,
The problem is that the vibration doesnt work in notification and call even when it is set to do so. Vibrator isn't broken, getting haptic feedback in start and from SwiftKey.
I started having this problem when I flashed checkrom. And I guess I backen it up in titanium. Could titanium have written system? Will reflash work with restoring apps and data only? Rather not cause of many wifi access points and passwords..
Thanks for the info,
Regards

SMS/MMS Notification Sound Cut Off

Lately I've noticed my SMS/MMS Notification Sound gets cut off in the middle of playing.
I'm using the "Whistle" notification sound. It worked fine the first day I had my phone (today would be day 5 I've had it)
I've tried restarting the phone, choosing different tones, fixing permissions, clearing caches. So far nothing seems to be working
It looks like it gets cut off when the screen lights up from the notification.
Anyone else having this issue? And if so, have you found a fix (besides using a 3rd party messaging app like Go SMS). I have the Sprint variant, stock rooted (LF9)

Yeah I had the same problem
But it only happened when my wife would text me
I did the same fixes as u did thinking that would work, but it didn't so I erased that contact put it back in and now it works right
Good luck

Wowwwwww you know what? It only happens to me when my girlfriend messages me lol. Wtf? That's so weird! Maybe it has something to do the most frequently messaged person? Gunna delete the contact and test.
Thanks!

It does this If you set a limit for incoming texts and have auto delete on. Erase all the messages when your at the limit and it will go back to normal again

Oh that makes sense. I had my auto delete set @ 120 SMS. So I'm guessing what happens is once the thread hits 120 and you get a new SMS the notification gets interrupted by the system deleting the last message in that thread to make it 120.
Well this is all very helpful. Problem solved. Thanks guys!

Another work around for this is to use zedge to assign your sound. For whatever reason, it bypasses the issue and the sound fully plays when a new message comes in.

Truncated / Cut short SMS Notifications

Hi guys,
I'm having a weird bug with SMS notifications on my S3, when I get a text it will cut short or sometimes not even play the notification sound. I've tried various tones, restarting the phone, changing the settings off - reboot - turn setting back on, but nothing is sorting it... Anyone else had this issue and been able to resolve it?
Thanks,
J
Same problem here, its totally random.
I've noticed this myself a few times as well.
I had it, I changed to a different notification sound and that fixed it. Not sure if you can go back after? Whistle annoyed me so didn't try.

Do you keep your phone screen down on a table, there's a motion settings to mute ringtones if the phone is placed screen down on a table.

thanks for the idea, but this is with my phone face up on the sofa arm!

I am having the exact same issue, although it only appears to do it with custom sounds that I have added, I have not been able to replicate it using stock sounds

thanks for that fireboypr. I've just bumped my message limit to see if this helps the issue and if this resolves it, will have to remember why!
