Hi,
I have a problem with my new Tablet S: The notification does NOT blink!
I've installed lightflow lite and during the "test notifications" everything works... but I don't get any light from calender events or email (the Sony stock program for Email preinstalled on the tablet).
What's this? Any tips, help?
If you've installed and setup Lightflow Lite, you will then need to use that app to manage your notifications, and I'm not sure Lightflow supports the Sony's email application. If you're using Gmail, for example, you can turn on the Gmail notification in Lightflow.
Have you tried setting a notification in Lightflow for something obvious like battery below 100% and seen whether that works. If not, you might have a different problem.
Have you tried to uninstall this app, reboot and see if it works again?
I would be glad if it never blinks
pretty annoying if it starts shining in your bedroom
if it turns all green every 2 seconds xD

I have a Galaxy Nexus, running AOKP. I disabled the stock Calendar app and downloaded the "newer" stock one via the Play Store. One issue I've run into with this new one, though, is that it makes the notification light blink when I have a notification for the next event on my calendar. I always liked to leave those notifications hanging up in my notification bar, because it helps me remember that I have to do something soon, but I don't like the LED blinking all the time just because I have one of those sitting in my notification bar. The LED never blinked in the original stock app...
I've looked through the settings of the app, itself, and all I can find is a setting to turn off notifications altogether, but doing so means I don't get the little reminders up in my notification bar. Did I not see the right setting, or is there no setting to turn off the LED?
What's kind of annoying, too, is that the LED notification for these reminders seems to "override" that of other notifications. For instance, I have it set up in AOKP to blink different colors when I get notifications from certain apps, but the color for the calendar notification seems to take precedence over the LED for everything else.
Any other suggestions, or am I out of luck?
I recently got this phone and loving it so far. The one problem I'm having is with my email notifications. After viewing the email, the unread email notification icon remains in the status bar. Only way to get rid of it is to manually swipe it away. Even if I tap on the icon and it takes me to the email, the notification icon remains in the status bar. I have tested and this is happening for me with the Gmail and Cloud Magic email apps. Anyone else experience this? Or better yet, anyone have a solution? Thanks..
Assume I'm the only one that has experienced this issue..
Turns out the app Lightflow was causing the problem. I have uninstalled Lightflow and problem gone.
Since the OTA update my notification light has stopped working, I have checked the app permissions and the notification light is enabled but does not work. Is there another setting under MM that is causing this or is it a bug with the update?

I switched from LineageOS to the weekly xiaomi.eu ROMs recently and I've found that the notification LED doesn't function in third party apps. It works when I'm charging the phone and if I use the stock messaging app. However, if I switch to Textra, Light Manager and Light Flow will not direct the notification LED to work (despite giving all apps the right permissions). Likewise, simply setting the notification LED within Textra doesn't work.
Googling this issue brings up a lot of threads from last year, so I'm wondering if it was a deliberate move by Xiaomi to have people use its own messaging apps.

go to security/permissions and enable it for each app. downside is you cannot choose separate colors for each app
(new here and to OPPO)
Got the china ROM and I have quickly realized that notifications were locked up very tightly. Even after turning everything off/allowing notifications, notifications still don't work on lock screen.
I have:
Turned off Power Smart Saver
Custom Power Saving > Allow Background Running
Manage Notifications > Allow Notifications > Display on Lock screen
Battery > App quick freeze > Turn auto freeze off
Anyone have a solution or do I have to put up with the fact that the china rom is inferior
Which notification are you having issue with?
Did you disabled anything using adb?
I disabled com.coloros.athena
And im getting my Gmail and calendar notification somewhat reliable.

What does disabling com.coloros.athena do?
Edit:just found what Athena supposedly does, removing this fixed it for you?
Edit2:

According to running processes in the developer options, it looks like com.coloros.athena is responsible for killing background processes. I will have to look into this further tomorrow.
EDIT: I deleted com.coloros.athena together with com.coloros.safecenter and com.coloros.oppoguardelf. Looks like Tasker is running in the background now (though it is using a suspiciously small amount of ram compared with previous phones I have).

Using this I have got some more notifications to behave more normally, but things like SoundCloud player will sometimes decide not to show up, is there anything more I can do?

I actually had the same problem with my Oppo Find X. I use the Android Version 8.1.0 with the ColorOS Version V5.2.1.
Step 1: Go to Settings --> Battery --> Turn Off "Smart Power Saver" --> go to Custom Power Consumption Protection --> Select WhatsApp --> Tick "Allow Background Running"
Step 2: Go to Settings --> Battery --> Select "App quick freeze" --> disable WhatsApp
Step 3: On your Phone you have 3 Buttons, the one where you can go back, the other to get to Home Screen and the other one, where we can check our opened windows we use right now.
We need to open WhatsApp once, just to see it as an opened window, now use the third button i told you and use you finger to push the WhatsApp window DOWN. There you have the option to "Lock" the
App. That means, the App will be opened all the time without getting freezed and you can get messages. Remember to Manage the Notifications of WhatsApp in the Settings, like "Display on Lockscreen" and
"Display at the Top of the Screen"
I hope i was able to help you or other Persons. If you have questions, message me on: [email protected]
