Just got my Hero back from rep (they chanced the Mainboard) now when i plug it to my computer, it i showend as a HTC Dream. Can that be right??
Could they have put in a HTC Dream mainboard whem they fixed it???
Any way to find out??
Are you sure it didn't show as a Dream beforehand?
On my Vista X64 machine, my Hero uses the Dream ADB driver, but on my Windows 7 laptop I've installed HTC Sync, so I'm showing quite a few more device functions than you - I take it you do not have HTC Sync installed?
Regards,
Dave
I suppose it is possible, the only things i would check to make sure your not short changed are the RAM & ROM, also maybe the camera. Other then that the specs are pretty similar, They even use the same ARM11 processing chip

No i am not sure it didn't show as a Dream before. Just think it was strange it was saying HTC Dream..
I can`t get Htc Sync to work on my windows 7 x64
tried to follow the instructions with the x64 driver, bus can`t seem to get it to work.
I´ve installed HTC Sync 2.0.4 and the x64 driver. Put the driver in C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64, but it dosen`t seem to work.
My computer do not recognize the Hero.
Am i doing something wrong?

It´s okay.. mabye it issen`t possible to see that on the Hero.
Du you have any clue how to fix the problem with Htc Sync?
Connect your phone to the computer.
Enter command prompt and type adb shell
You'll then be able to enter commands to your phone.
To check processor speed enter:
cat /proc/cpuinfo
to check memory enter:
cat /proc/meminfo

I would try removing your existing hardware device from Device Manager, and completely reinstalling from scratch. Before you attach the phone to your machine, ensure that you have USB debugging switched on.
In addition, some people here have reported similar problems which have been completely cured by switching USB cable, even though the USB cable they used seemed to work fine with other devices.

Ok guys maybe someone can help me, I am running the latest Stock 6.5 rom, my boss has just got a new Windows 7 phone and is now forced to use Windows live Calander ect instead of outlook. Because of this he wants to share calanders through windows live, but there is a problem, I cant because I am using outlook.
Is there a way to do this at the pc, and allso is there a way to do this away from a pc as well, I need to be able to share calanders .
To be honest this s really pissing me off because microsoft have really forced pple away from outlook and forcing pple to use a windows 7 phone and windows live, this really is a poor choice for Microsoft, I cant talk my boss out of using live because he is tied to his new phone.
Viewing live calander on opera mini 5.1 just throws error codes at me.
Thanks in advance.
Yo guys,
Nothing really new: a quick search on xda and I can see that this has been posted at a few places already.
But still...
- Have you ever wanted to show your dad what your magic phone does for you?
- Have you ever wanted to test drive an Android app before actually installing it on your phone?
- Ever got stuck without your phone and you miss your favorite 0-gravity game?
Well, problem solved!: test drive BlueStacks' Android App Player beta-1 for Windows.
All you need is an e-mail address, choose if 'you have a phone' or not [can sync your phone apps automatically -I'd suggest you to use a trial email address with the "I have no phone option" first...] and go enjoy your new gigantic smartphone on your big screen
Take that pads!!
The default installer is 3.6Mb in size, but there is also a ~100Mb .msi installer available [see pic 1].
Windows XP users might also what to make sure that they have Windows Installer v4.5 installed prior to BlueStacks' Player installation.
Hope you enjoy as I do.
Cheers.
I read about this a few months ago but never found it again. I missed the idea so much!... ^^… Thanks a lot dude!!
CM7 + CM9 double boot
Np - you're welcome.
Well this one ain't too old; it was officially released less than 24 hours ago..
Still a little limitted with some demanding apps (3D, maps, ...) and Hello Ads!
But still, has it uses...
For windows phones and tablets owners probably even a little more...
I read that microsoft was very interested in the project and maybe planned to buy it. Imagine if windows phones had access to the android application ecosystem? Big-time money for them. Even i would think about leaving android for WP if it happened
CM7 + CM9 double boot
Did someone of you manage to use the phone contacts in whats app on pc?

I've installed it, it's good but unfortunatly i can't play any of those good gameloft games x). Playing Modern Combat 3 online with a mouse and the keyboard would have been awesome ^^
thanks it's awesome
haw....greetings from the forest, been a long time my friend.
good thing you posted this..this is a good find, since ive been bugged by my wife to have that stupid chat bot "simsimi" on her little netbook... i might try this & get her off my android...
Even Blackberry OS for Android allows it now through Emulators with their latest update
android sdk
Install android SDK and run your Android App in the Emulator in Eclipse(I am application dev)
HTC U11 aOS 8 Oreo.
Sierra on the Mac.
When I set up to sync across the 2 devices either all the bookmarks get messed up or just the ones on the desktop.
I've tried a few different sign outs, start from scratch, blah, blah, blah, no change.
Any experience or ideas how to fix?
This was working fine with the same specs, but I had to reset my HTC U11 for something else.
Can we install Windows 10 on the S7/S7+?
LMFAO
Please tell me you're kidding?
Yes we can.
FAQ
It's not as stupid of a question as you guys make it seem. Windows 10 ARM version exists (but there is no way to get a legal license and/or installation media for it) for the Surface Pro X and a few other devices. Of course there would most likely be no drivers, but in theory Win 10 COULD be possibly.. but yea in reality it's not at the moment.
Is anybody able to use a windows emulator? I tried Linux on it but wondering if there's a better way to use Windows apps if I need to other than remoting into my PC

I've found a few solutions to this. Ibochs works but is basically unusable. TeamViewer allows you to wake up your home PC and control it. This works surprisingly well if you have a good connection. Microsoft also has an app called Azure that lets you use a virtual desktop for less than $.01/hr if you can't wake up your home PC over ip for some reason
I'm going to go out on a limb here and use a throwback analogy... Much like a free ride from a partner with an STD... Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should... LOL
