The Best Battery Preformance - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi There ,
This My First thread so Please go easy On me,
After many Flashing and testing and restoring for ROM and kernels that i found here on XDA ,trying to get three main objective to get out of my testing :
1- Long Battery Life.
2- a Functional call Recording .
3- The new ICS stable and working Rom .
Finally that I have Achieved it I want to share my experience with all of you .
I Found That The best combination to achieve my Goals is :
1- The Official ICS For Ray Found HERE .
2- You have to downgrade the bass-band version to .64 from here .
3- You Have to Flash the kernels found HERE
THE Steps :
1- First Flash the Official ICS Using Flash Tool ,If your bass band is already 64.you can exclude the base band from flashing option menu .
2- After Flashing the official Version of ICS use the flash tool again to flash Base band version .64 available above .
3- After the base band flashed use the fast boot mode to flash kernel provided sirkay[ X Ray Kernel v3.0.2 ].
Many Thanks Goes To :
Jozinek : Thanks For Providing us with official working ICS .
sirkay : Thanks For Providing us with kernels and the Base band Flash .

Just by looking at these screenshots I can see why you have such a good battery life.
Your screen was off most of the time and you didn't use Wi-Fi and 3G at all.
Everyone, on every ROM and kernel can get this results if they don't use their phone.
I didn't buy a smartphone to keep it disconnected from the internet and on standby.
If you want that get a feature phone guys.

Next time when you post screenshots please post how long was your screen on, and how long was your Wi-Fi on.
Like this:

Logicaly it should improve battery life!
cuz according to others' and mine experience 70 baseband drains battery in this ROM!
though i look forward to your more detailed screenshots!
good luck dude

That's because first 14 hours phone was on standby and not even on wifi or 3g.
So basicly he drained 55% in 10 hours. I still don't know how much he used phone in that 10 hours.
I am on baseband 70 and my battery lasts about 18 hours with wifi and 3g always on, and with average usage.

Thanks for the tips. But I don't really worry about battery drains. I just think this is my second laptop.
Get 2 phones is a lot better than worrying battery drain. Anyways, nice thread.

Why is this in development part of forums? Is OP developing some sort of battery extender program/rom/kernel?

Battery drain is kernel related, specifically the wifi drivers. Ideally, we need the source for the latest Sony kernel, to use to have custom kernels, with deep sleep fixed
Can't we use files from this rom on "our" BETA rom?

Kernel source should actually be out soon. KalleD said in the beta thread that source would be released in around a week - that was about a week ago so we should be seeing it any day now

[Q] Installing custom ROMs on my sony xperia s

Hello everyone
I have a Sony xperia S updated to the latest build of ICS with a 1 year warranty ( still there's about 7-8 months in it )
im eager to install custom roms on it , but problem is that i loose warranty if i unlock my bootloader
and im a moderate/heavy user on the phone .
So my question is , should i go for it and unlock the bootloader ? because im still stuck with ICS while cyangenmod has Jelly bean for my phone ..
or should i keep the warranty and wait because something might happen to it ? ( still no word from sony on the update to its 7 months old phone ... )
Appreciate any opinion/help
Hi Jay dude i think its best u wait till your warranty wears off... custom roms are really cool and are sure with the risk! Unlocking the bootloader is reversible thus fooling your network provider repair center that your phone has never been rooted even though you have! All shall go well if u read and follow instructions.

Thanks for the opinion
But too late I just went for it and unlocked the bootloader and now running Cyanogenmod 9.1 and im very happy with it , its fast and stable , makes you feel happy about your phone .. transforms it into a great piece of technology not like our stock rom
Would recommend it , if you really care about phone software .. as for me I couldn't wait to change it .. seems like sony forgot about us ..
Thanks buddy but i was way there before you... im glad you went through with it, im also on cm9.1 its really a better rom compared to sony's stupid rom cm9.1is a real battery saver and a smooth runner.

that's true man , better battery life
do you recommend other roms ? have you tried others that are better ?
Yeah sure I've tried a hand full of other unique roms. U ask if there are any better, honesty judging from my experience cyanogenmod roms have and still are the smoothest out there due to the light weight. Other rom that I've tried are (KA Xperia SSpeed roms), ([email protected] v5.1 and v6 roms) both this roms are being constantly updated for better experience and are both very cool because they come with awesome pre-installed apps that u dont get with cyanogenmod roms. Please bear in mind that this roms are a bit huge to download like close to 400MB of data while CyanogenMod are usually about 150MB of datta. So yeah man u should try this other rooms they will also make your phone really cool to operate.

while keeping usage low I managed to get 1 day 15 hours of battery .
it depends on how much you use it I mean you can drain from 100% to 0% while constantly playing games for 5 hours lets say.
many times on normal usage with wifi on I manage to get 1 day of charge ..
it depends on your usage but its SLIGHTLY better than stock .

this is the latest one . for the Xperia S you choose to download the NOZOMI one .
shame on you!! forgettiing AOKP!!! SHAAAME ON YOU!!
i actually installed aokp and i cant change it.. im addicted to it.. it is the most amazing non-stock (forgot the name ) rom any1 can have.. i miss my xperia rom look and the t apps and stuff but i cant change this its too damn amazing!!!
Erm, A JB ROM?
Pardon me for being a noob here but isn't CM9 an ICS ROM? I'm looking for a CM10 rom for my xperia S. A few webpages state and offer downloads of the same but it isn't available on gt.cm. So does it exist or not?
I'm open to other options for a decent JB rom other than CM, but I would prefer a stable one.
yes cm 9.1 is ICS but at the time i opened this thread cm 10 wasn't stable yet , but now it is very stable and FXP team is working on 10.1 ( 4.2 ) .
i use cyanogenmod 10 for sony xperia s from the free xperia project . it is the best . i tried aokp , for me it has some extras i don't need and i felt its a bit cheap ..
btw cm is aosp not aokp ..
feel free to try both :
aokp : http://code.google.com/p/kangxperia/
cm 10 : https://sites.google.com/site/projectfreexperia/download/cyanogen-mod-10 ( the one i recommend )
if you need help in flashing just ask .
edit : forgot to mention , cm 10 is android 4.1.2 as well as the latest aokp
how to unlock bootloader please tell i m trying to unlock it since 4 days plz help plz
here you go man : http://www.androidauthority.com/xperia-s-unlock-bootloader-82532/

[Q] [HELP] Samsung galaxy tab 2 battery problem

Hey guys..
I bought a galaxy tab 2 two weks ago from a friend who also used it for just 2 weeks !
It worked fine but recently I face a problem with the battery !
The battery drains to 40% after playing fifa 14 for just 1 hours with 30% brightness !
I searched for a solution in this forum and I read a threat about battery calibration which said that I shall charge it to 100% shutdown for an hour , restart it and use it until you get 40% battery and shut it down for 5 hours etc...
Anyway I tried the calibration method but it doesn't help and probably the situation get worst because this morning I used it until battery drained to 80% then I resart it and I found that battery drained to 34% !
I find many calibration app in googleplay but I'm not sure if it will help me in my situation or not !
So would anyone please help me solve this problem ?
thanks previously ( sorry for my bad english )

Well, calibration apps and doing it manually [ie .messing with the .bin] won't work due to it not being rooted. But on that note, I don't think you would have any reason to calibrate it. To my knowledge only flashing ROMs and things of the sort can cause it to be out of calibration. [not 100% sure though] Normaly You would have to charge to 100%, then let it die, without any charging. Go from 100% to 0% then 0 back to 100% in one charge.
Hope ya get it right. If anything ask him if he still has the receipt if he got it new. Could possibly use the warranty.

Well, try a calibration app 1st. If that doesn't work I don't how to "fix" it. You could do things to reduce battery drain though. Lowering the CPU max frequency, a powersave governor, undervolting the CPU, keep brightness to a minimum are good ways.

I tried 3 but it still the same ! I will be so thankful for you if you give me names of good apps for lowering the CPU frequency ! I'm actually starting using battery doctor ! Is it a good app ?
It helps to a degree, but I'm thinking your problem is the battery itself. Was it treated badly? Like leaving plugged in for long periods of time or left in really hot cars.
Also turn off location and Bluetooth

First thing you should know, you don't havta say thank you all the time, just click the Thanks button, that's what it's for.
And I actually installed PAC ROM today. It's an awesome ROM with a lot of cool features...
As for RAM usage, I dont think that should be a problem. The ROM should be optimised for your device, so it won't use 700mb at rest.
Give it a try, if you find it's slow or laggy, I can suggest more ROMs. :good:
(<---Remember to Thank me if I helped)
I would use CM10.1.3 for battery life, as I used to get 1% lose overnight. (I use SlimKat now which may be not as good in the battery department, but for me the latest OS is essential, but that's just me.)

Here's what a senior member said :
"Borther. I would like to quote one thing first of all; all kitkat based ROMs are battery suckers. So you will not get good battery backup as you might have seen in 4.1.2 or 4.2.2. Xposed framework consumes lot of RAM,i prefer not to use it. PAC ROM is just like another KITKAT ROMs that provides loads of features but with an inefficient battery backup. You will see huge battery drain yourself. I did tried all Kitkat based ROMs. Even all kitkat based ROMs have shuttering/noise sounds while playing some games like Real-Racing 3 etc. I suggest to go with Stock ROM 4.2.2 based on your region or cm 10.2 based ROMs(if available). Root it(if stock) and remove all the samsung bloatwares from it. Then you will not get any kind of battery drain or Lag while playing high-end games. But ultimately choice is all yours."
Thats why am still confused ! So what is the usage of ram at rest ?! You install pac rom kitkat or lower version ? What about battery , did it drain too fast ?!
And how did you install it please !? Am running sg tab 2 p3110 with SuperSU root and the latest version of philz as a custom recovery

OCed at 1.2GHz and both data and cache formated to F2FS and
1) I have no Lag on both the roms(primary and secondary)
2)1% loss of battery from night to day(9:30 pm to 5:26 am)
3)Play modern combat with no glitch

I installed PAC(KitKat, latest nightly) on my GT-N7000(Galaxy Note) which has 778mb available RAM, and I get around 380mb used after clearing recents, and 355-ish after the phone has been at rest for some time. Mind you I haven't got too many apps installed which have background services, though. But I'd still say it's good RAM management.
But as for what you should do, I think you should take @iamashwin's advice...He knows what he's talking about. @lokesh.3440 suggested the stock option too, so you really should try it. :good:
Thank you all for support ing me ( pressing thank bottom is done ) but I decided to install cm 10.1.3 since it is recommended in many threads for battery life . Would anyone please explain to me what is a tabletUi patch ?

I'm not sure...I would think it's a patch to give you tablet UI (I know, I know...I'm a genius), but since you own a tablet itself...
I think it's some kinda fix for ROMs for tablet ported from phone ROMs...

[Q] Phone never goes to deep sleep

My phone never goes to deep sleep. I installed the BetterBatteryStats app to see what is making this problem and so far here are the results (in the attachments).
PS: I am running an 2.3.6 Android with custom ROM (SuperIceDroid and HellLock kernel) and I have rooted the phone.

Both are same but it depends on user's usage , you can get all info on their OP's
My phone also never goes into deep sleep.
I use CyanogenMod 7.2 - BroadcomCM [COOPERVE] [RC 4 - 16/08/2013]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080065
and ThunderKernel 2.1 [UPDATE 22/10/2013]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335947
I wanted to use the recommended kernel for this ROM which is CM Specific Basic Kernel v3.0, but I cannot find it anywhere to download.
In the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253010
there are only download links for version 4.0, but the ROM won't boot with version 4.0...

[Q]High battery drain without reasons

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53003039&postcount=548
Well i instaled Gin2JB with Night elf 10.1 exp and i have too high drain ... i almost get 50mins onscreen time
I dont know what to do anymore..i reflashed stock gb then installed gin2jb and same drain ...My phone gets into deep sleep but i still get 8 battery/H consumed...
try flashing other kernel.
battery drain is usually because of kernel.
Can you suggest me other kernels than nightelf ?
Lupus gb

If you are not specific with rom try some kitkat rom with the kernel given it zip. I'm using carbon rom, work good for my usage. I get more than a day of battery.
Tried lupus , tried Carbon rom , all eat 50+ battery per hour in this progam https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain
when i`m playing and i have 3G on
I even changed basebands , i`m on 77 now , been on 64 .. i see the results tomorrow , after this night..I barely get 30 mins ontime screen ... i have checked with better battery stats , when phone is in deep sleep still consume 5% per H
At how i use my phone i need to charge it once every 5-6H... that's so sad.

Did you try the Night ELF's 10.1 lite version (Its the version other than experimental version)
Try that...your problem may get solved because i also faced the same problem while i was on Gingerbread many a times.
Change your kernal after once you flash any of the stock rom with its kernal.
Your problem may get solved as mine got solved when i encountered the same problem as yours.
I use to use the codename rom with nightELF's kernal
Hope this helps
hit thanks if you find this useful
So you say that i should install Night ELF's 10.1 lite version on Gin2kitkat ?

Ya my friend, give it a try.It worked for me so that might work for u too.
Also if u want to use a Gingerbread rom then Codename Is a good rom which u may try out if u like to
And install that kernal after you intsall the stock Gingerbread ftf of sony including the kernal.
Might solve any issues if your phone is having one.
Hope this helps
