It seems that I can’t get any mails on stock mail application. Mails are not pushed, not even manual synchronization work. While the Gmail app is working fine. Does anyone have the same issue? I noticed it yesterday. Also have tried factory reset, and reflashing rom.
does your email account support pop? was it working before and then stopped?

I have a weird problem. I have setup my gmail account with the Samsung Email app. Everything is fine. I updated to KE7 and now there is this weird thing that is happening. Every now and again I keep getting email notifications and they dont stop even though there are no new emails. It seems to only happen on my GMAIL account. I have my hotmail and my office email configured as well.
Also this only happens on the Samsung email client, I do not get notifications from the standard GMAIL application. The only remedy that works is to delete the account and re-add it again.
Anyone has an idea why this is happening or anyone else experienced this before?
Happened to me too! As you said, I deleted the account and re-inserted it after! it worked!
I also disabled automatic sync when in wifi through the email app settings
Anyways, I don't know either!
OK must be a bug then. Weird but annoying as happened to me again moments ago, left my phone and came back, 38 New Email notifications when there was none lol
When I forward emails from my phone the email text that I am forwarding is not visible to the recipient.
If I try to view on my phone a forwarded message is not visible at all, if I view in Outlook I can view the forwarded email as a conversation, but other people that I have forwarded emails to have not been able to see them at all.
Thanks for any suggestions to sort this out.
..same problem here. Forwarding an email from my premium account leads to an empty mail. Any other account works fine.
I know 5 people with an S2 and the same issue. Anyone here with the same experience or even better a solution?
best
Can you guys send an email? Seems an outgoing server setting problem!

Sending emails is fine, the problem is only with forwarding them. I've searched on Google and it seems to be a common problem on Android phones.
I rang Samsung who originally told me to delete all my email accounts and reinstate them and then told me that upgrading to the latest firmware would resolve it, however I think this was just a ploy to get rid of me, the employee didn't ask what my current firmware was and when I asked if this was definitely a fix for this in the latest firmware he said he didn't know!
everything is fine..except the forwarding. it's just with the 'premium' accounts. all other accounts work as expected. the server is a straight forward imap server. the same in fact i use for the second account that has no problems at all.
the issue is definitly on the mobile side... i am on KE2 - rooted.
if this issue is not fixable i will delete the premium account and reinstall it manualy. only workaround so far..

I'm having the same problem, ithehappy! No mails are being sent from my gmail account from the phone. Sent an email twice from my main gmail account to another yahoo account, and it has not even got sent! What exactly is the problem? Is it India specific problem?

sorry to say..but you have a different problem. sending mails is not the problem of this thread.. the forwarding of a received mail leads to an empty email on the recipient side. sending mails works fine.

I meant my problem is the same as what ITheHappy was referring to. I didn't mean my problem is same as yours. If somebody can answer why email is not being sent from my SGS II, it will be helpful to me. I was just trying to send one attachment of a pic in the email (total size of 131KB) and it just isn't being sent. There is no notification of whether the email is being sent or not! Does anyone here know the answer or I'll put my question in a separate thread.

Hi
There are 2 hotmail-accounts configured on the phone. The phone receives e-mails, and is able to send e-mails OK. BUT, when i reply on any e-mails it says "unable to send".
I have tried to reset the phone, but that didn't help...
This was working fine before the ICS-update.
(The phone is stock and unrooted)
Anybody else with this problem??
Does your gmail account reply to emails?
Is your hotmail accounts done through the Hotmail app or through the stock email program or another app?
How are your hotmail accounts set up (pop or exchange)?
As you siad it was working prior in Gingerbread but not now in ICS. It might be a corruption in the flashing of the phone, especially if it was a non-wipe flash. Reseting will have no effect on the problem. You may be best to wipe then flash the ICS rom.

The stock e-mail app is used...
The hotmail accounts are set up using the "auto configure" when the phone sees that it's a @hotmail account...
When setting up the gmail-account in the stock e-mail app, reply works as normal. It's just the two hotmail-accounts that have this problem..
I'm having problems with the gmail account I have attached to the HTC Mail app. My regular gmail app ( connected to another account) Works perfectly fine. It has synced before but it seems intermitant and I know I have four messages in my inbox and It will not sync no matter what I try. Just wondering if theres a known issue with the HTC app.

I have had the same issues on stock GB and CleanROM ICS 4.3 - no matter what ROM I use, HTC/Sense mail stops syncing.
I've moved on to K9 mail. Works perfectly.

Why do you have the Gmail set up there? You can add a second Gmail account to the actual Gmail application. That might be more reliable for you.
I'm using an Exchange account with the HTC Mail app and haven't had any syncing issues at all.
You can try clearing the application data in Settings and setting it up again, if you prefer the HTC app.

I believe that setting up GMail in the HTC mail app is part of the set up process. I am not sure you can actually avoid it, although I have never tried. Also, the UI for the mail app is nicer in some respects than the GMail app.
Exchange does work well, but there are definitely issues with webmail and the mail app.
In the past, I tried clearing data for the for gmail on the mail app, and I think HTC mail won't allow it since gmail has to be a primary account.
Having gone through all this is what made me suggest the K-9 mail app. Just turn off notifications for the other gmail mail accounts.

You can definitely skip setting up GMail in the HTC app. Just skip the entire setup and then sign in to the Gmail app directly. But I know what you mean, the HTC app has some aesthetics I enjoy more than the GMail app.
And you should be able to clear the data on that HTC app. It's totally independent of the Gmail app. At least, I've never had an issue with clearing data from it and it didn't affect Gmail in anyway.
Hopefully the OP can chime in on the results.

Yes, it's a known bug. The Android Task killer, kills off the HTC Mail app after a while. It was listed as a fix in the changelog for the January OTA update. It seemed to get a lot better, but its still not perfect.
I also agree, you should just use GMail app for all your GMail accounts. It's push so no random checking.
Also, I believe the Task killer is overly aggressive in general. After my phone has been running for about a day or so, my Facebook widget stops updating. I have to reboot the phone, then it starts updating for a day or so then stops again. Same with my HTC Mail app that checks my personal mail account via POP.
I have had my phone setup using g this for as long as I can remember. Yet today when I went to reply to an email it failed. I can receive mail fine but cannot send any
Anyone else using this setup still able to send mail?

By set up do you mean you are using the Gmail account that the phone sync's your contacts? Or, do you have a separate Gmail account? I run a Gmail account to sync the device, and a Cloud Magic App to run my Hotmail account. I tried them both and they are working fine. Before you start changing things, do you have another email account either on the phone, or one that can be installed on the device to check and see if that works first? Maybe there is a problem with Sprint?
