How can i disable the lockscreen without an app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to disable the lockscreen.
There are several apps that do this but they all have a side-effect:
When they run pressing the volume-buttons will turn on the screen and i dont want that.
I know that CM-Roms have this feature built in but they have terrible battery-life.
Im using a Xperia Active with Spartan ROM (based on stock rom).
Any idea?

there are roms that give you an option to do this, either thru menu settings or via a pulldown toggle.
SGS2 (T989) on CM7_373R5

I know but the CM Roms all have **** battery-life.
Other then these i think the rest is stock-based and without that feature.

Pulldown Notification widgets (wifi,bt...)

Is there a way you guys can make some kind of "add-on" like this?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/pulldown-notification-widget-mod-for-virtuous-rom/, so we could have all toggles in one place in notification bar?
It's present in all cyanogenmod based ROMs, such as miniCM, Nexus, Elelinux and I guess in 2.3.3 ROMs as well.
Would it be possible to put them on stock Rom like they are in cm7 minicm, using stock Rom at the moment and miss them quite bad. Lol

it's all been set up to cyanogens mod ROMs already...haven't try one?
This would be nice for stock rom - you are right. btw: I already tried cyanogen mod roms - but with the SU bug they are unusable for me

Well, pull CM settings files from any 2.2 ROM and try to install/adjust it to 2.1, there's a slight possibility you will succeed. Or maybe there are sources for CM based on 2.1 ROMs, when there was no froyo and ginger, look it up on CM website
I was wondering for stock rom too. It would be great that someone from dev-s who implemented that into CM, tries to make some script for stock rom
Read my post again and start looking for CMsettings app
You can try widgetsoid.

@Graveir - if I knew where it is, or how to do that, I wouldn't be asking here
Widgetsoid isn't the same as pull down menu...
There's also apps that can add toggles to notification pulldown. Like Power Control Plus.
How?? I have power control but there is no option for notification bar...
It's an option that pops up on first page if you launch it from App Drawer (not add widget).

no, system apps like settings cannot be restored by titanium backup.

All of these widgets have popups when you touch them...It would be great that someone makes update.zip for xRecovery for this toggles like in CM..

Who says anything about TB? It's far easier to simply adb it

Sorry, I meant touch notification bar widget...
it would be great if the stock rom have this , se roms suck and custom roms are buggy too bad for such a cute stylish handset
I presume that stock rom doesn't support multiple notification clicks? It there a way to enable this feature(?

[Q] Swipe to remove notifications

Is there a way to add swipe to remove notifications feature on froyo based roms?
I know froyo is totally outdated now but there might be very few who may be still using it like me..
the code for gb was given because cm7 had it which is for gb...so they just ported the codes ...dont have a idea but froyo never used it.............

Custom Rom Features

Hello ladies and gentleman I am going to be building a new custom rom entirely from scratch What I would like to know is instead of me just building a custom romon my own I would ilke some feedback as to what features you would like to see in the rom. Here is a little info on the rom so far. it will be based on ICS as I do not rally care for jelly bean so please let the comments come on.
I'd like to see a stock ROM mixed with flavors from AOSP.

You mean stuff that's every rom (cm kernel excluded)? And the over clocking is enabled through the kernel not the rom.

Why would U need to over clock to 1.6 ghz? What could you possibly gain besides horrible battery life?

Darnit. totally right.

Here's what I would like to see.
1.) Based on Samsung Stock ROM (4.0.3 or 4.0.4)
2.) Galaxy S3 Icons
3.) Camera modded for taking pictures with volume buttons.
4.) Stock statusbar icons.
5.) Jelly Bean animations (makes the UI seem smooth)
6.) Good idle battery life.
7.) Nova launcher or Touchwiz UX.
8.) Galaxy S3 UI theme (themed pop-ups, statusbar, and dialer)
9.) Volume control like Shostock2. (Other roms have volume that is too loud at minimum, but Shostock2 doesn't)
That's all i'd like to see. If you can do all that it would be awesome
I'm pretty easy.
+ don't care the OS, GB/ICS/JB as long as it's buttery smooth and no stuttering.
+ good batter life. Close to 48 hours with no activity or 5hrs with screen on or voice. That make me happy.
+ crystal clear voice quality and good reception.
+ live up to its data rate, 3G or 4G or LTE. I don't want to see 1Mbps in LTE area.
+ bluetooth, camera, audio
+ I don't care it's TW or stock ASOP or any 3rd party launcher.
Our phones don't have LTE as far as I know.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
I mean really the dev can't control battery life too much right?
Sent from my SGH-I777
No he can't. All of our phones behave differently with battery, so he can't give everyone the best battery life. Some people normally get 2 days of battery with minimum usage, while people like me get 21 hours with almost no usage.
So is this heading anywhere? Any progress?

i guess not.he would have replied to any one of us..i guess he started this thread to make some time pass
My hope is CM9.1 + mods
Mods I hope to have are:
1) circle battery
2) AOKP notification toggles
3) option to switch off one cpu
I am using stable CM9 and CM9.1 for one month, and it is very stable. But I miss features from other roms. Thanks a bunch.

It will be your Rom, so make it the way you would like to see it. Plenty of people will comment more on what they would like to see in your Rom as soon as they can use it. Just have fun with making it.
I would suggest the following:
1 - Have it based on Samsung Stock Rom (preferably 4.0.4)
2 - Camera modifications for taking pictures with volume buttons and also having a panoramic camera ability
3 - Stock or slightly modified statusbar icons
4 - Jelly Bean animations (because they just look cool)
5 - Good battery life (to the best that you can get it)
6 - Excellent data rates on 3g and 4g (HSPA+)
7 - Self Destruct Button to blow your phone up from a remote location *joking*
After collecting a bunch of suggestions and feedback, is there any update info, OP or the thread will be gone with wind?

Stock based vs CM7.2 based custom roms :)

Guys i've started this thread to discuss about stock and cm based custom roms
1)which is better in what way
2)battery life
3)gaming performance
4)tweaks available for each
i felt that there is no thread related to this that's why started one
for battery, stock is the best
Stock FTW
Better battery, stable, camera, dialer, music and mms are very good.
Personally I miss tw goodies like integrated task manager button, camera and music player in CM7 so Stock is better for me
Yeah stock is stable, but so is cm7.
However, you miss out on the newer features offered in the cm9/ cm10 /aokp/ paranoid android roms.
I'm using PAC by nims11.
The main reason I personally prefer cm7 over stock is multitasking. On stock if I am using one application and switch to another, then switch back, my place is lost and often the first app has been killed and has to restart. That might be why cm7 supposedly uses more battery (I don't notice a difference personally, but I use my phone a lot)
I'm also not a fan of touchwiz and prefer the customization of cm7.
I love trying new roms no matter what the android version; 2.3.6, 2.3.7, 4.0 or 4.1
Kudos to all the Dev's working hard to make my old crappy ace awesome!

CM7 is best..
A little bit battery drain than stock but has more costomization for daily use..also has no bugs.. all the things is working and stable..
Actually our opinions always have a touch of personal experience. Some people use the stock based just the way they are & some people tweak it more. I've seen that the sgs II v10.1 has a great multi tasking capability ( atleast for me...) . Kranti.ace has really brought out a revolution as his name says. His rom is pretty smooth & he's promising further improvisation. What else to expect? Just the devs to bring out the better of what's already best...
I used to have beautiful life before. Now I'm in engineering...!
Completely correct.

[Q] How to get fully functional AOSP lockscreen?

Hello there!
I'd like to get a fully functional AOSP lockscreen on my Z2. So far I've installed "GEM Xperia Xposed" and enabled "Enable AOSP lockscreen" in its settings.
While this does in fact work for me, I'd like to customize the unlock-ring in the lockscreen with shortcuts. Conveniently, GravityBox offers exactly such functionality. However, the settings I make in GravityBox are simply not reflected on my lockscreen.
At first I thought that GravityBox maybe doesn't work at all under the stock Sony ROM, but settings like "Maximize Widgets on lockscreen" DO work for me. So it seems that maybe the Xposed-hook for customizing the unlock-ring is not working under my ROM.
Does anyone know of a module or .apk that I can install to get a fully functional AOSP lockscreen?
Many thanks in advance!
Funny enough if you remove the lockscreen app it should load the aosp one from the framework
Not sure if it works on KK fws, i know it does in GB, ICS n JB for xperias

To be honest, I would prefer not to remove any system applications, with the fear of locking myself somehow out of the phone. Isn't there some Xposed-module that can achieve this?
