[Q] How to get fully functional AOSP lockscreen? - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there!
I'd like to get a fully functional AOSP lockscreen on my Z2. So far I've installed "GEM Xperia Xposed" and enabled "Enable AOSP lockscreen" in its settings.
While this does in fact work for me, I'd like to customize the unlock-ring in the lockscreen with shortcuts. Conveniently, GravityBox offers exactly such functionality. However, the settings I make in GravityBox are simply not reflected on my lockscreen.
At first I thought that GravityBox maybe doesn't work at all under the stock Sony ROM, but settings like "Maximize Widgets on lockscreen" DO work for me. So it seems that maybe the Xposed-hook for customizing the unlock-ring is not working under my ROM.
Does anyone know of a module or .apk that I can install to get a fully functional AOSP lockscreen?
Many thanks in advance!

Funny enough if you remove the lockscreen app it should load the aosp one from the framework
Not sure if it works on KK fws, i know it does in GB, ICS n JB for xperias

To be honest, I would prefer not to remove any system applications, with the fear of locking myself somehow out of the phone. Isn't there some Xposed-module that can achieve this?

How can i disable the lockscreen without an app?

I want to disable the lockscreen.
There are several apps that do this but they all have a side-effect:
When they run pressing the volume-buttons will turn on the screen and i dont want that.
I know that CM-Roms have this feature built in but they have terrible battery-life.
Im using a Xperia Active with Spartan ROM (based on stock rom).
Any idea?
there are roms that give you an option to do this, either thru menu settings or via a pulldown toggle.
SGS2 (T989) on CM7_373R5
I know but the CM Roms all have **** battery-life.
Other then these i think the rest is stock-based and without that feature.

Getting JB Style, Keeping TW Features - Hyperdrive & Nova

I'm assuming I'm not alone here, as I have seen many people across the forums saying that they have either already gone to, or are thinking of flashing an AOSP ROM, and are worried about losing all of those Samsung Goodies (Like hover, air gestures, eye control, TW Camera, etc.) They generally also seem to want the customizability of a custom rom, as well. So, let's discuss how people have gone about getting that JB feel on a TW ROM.
The way I currently have this set up is with the Hyperdrive 5.7 ROM as a base. With just that, you get a smoother, faster, and enormously feature-packed TW ROM. The customization you can accomplish with this ROM is very impressive, especially considering it is TouchWiz. On top of this, I'm running - yep, you guessed it - Nova Launcher.
Nova Launcher is, in my opinion, the obvious choice for getting stock JB feel on any device. Nova allows the important customizations made to Hyperdrive to continue working, while adding the JB feel right on top. I've also run the script from within Hyperdrive to enable the Nexus 4 Softkeys, and I've shut off the lights on the capacitive keys on the device itself. This makes them completely invisible, so the device looks much more like a Nexus device, if you like that sort of thing.
What do you guys think? What other options are out there? I'm looking to give some insight to users who may want to get this type of feel on their S4, while also getting some feedback or better/different ways of achieving this. Good luck, and happy theming!
looks good just get rid of the nav bar
Eclipse is the closest anyone can get to aosp ATM. Best ROM out there.

What does the dialer look like? Still the ugly white?
What about incoming call screen?
Just changing the launcher doesn't make it AOSP themed.

Why don't you just go check out the ROM thread yourself before completely discounting it? No, it does not have the white dialer. It's very well themed and runs great.

You and I have our wires crossed. I was responding to the OP, which references a combo of hyperdrive rom and nova launcher.
I wasn't referring to the Eclipse ROM, which I see has AOSP dialer instead of TW dialer.

Yes, but youre losing all of the touchwiz features, which is half of the point of this thread.
Great AOSP ROM for sure, though.

Yeah. So the dialer and incoming calls are both part of the TW base. Nova launcher is just that; a home/launcher replacement. Just as you said. Though I am sure there are theming options for these things through third party methods, since many people dislike TW appearances.
I am just trying to get more of an AOSP look/feel, doesn't need to be completely coated in JB.

Eclipse is a themed TouchWiz ROM with a couple AOSP parts. It is not built on AOSP base. I believe it has the air features and TW camera, as well as many others.

I fully understood the point of the thread which is why I suggested Eclipse ROM. It's Touchwiz based and includes all the Touchwiz gimmicks as well as the TW camera. It's most certainly NOT an AOSP ROM as you seem to think it is. It's just a very well themed Touchwiz ROM.

You know, its really easy to post a reply without being passive-aggressive about it. I made a mistake and was unaware that Eclipse was Touchwiz, I was misinformed. Now that I have been home and had a chance to look at it, it looks like a really great option! Thanks for posting it here.

The main portion of it is DashClock. I like the accuweather service more than Yahoo though, so I used overlapping widgets in Nova Launcher. The weather widget on top of Dashclock is a 1x1 weather from Beautiful Widgets.

I am no longer running this ROM, but it is an included script with Hyperdrive. If you go to sbreen's included script installer, it was somewhere in a media folder and you just run it from there. He posted the instructions on the first page of the Hyperdrive thread somewhere.

it would be nice if it let you decide IF you want to use it on custom dpi and not just give you info that it's not compatible

It makes sense, in theory. Each theme has to be hand crafted in order to make it fit a specific resolution. Throwing in a custom DPI complicates this process tremendously, however, we aren't saying we won't incorporate it in the future
The main problem is most people dont use the specific resolution for their device. for example almost every i know never use Navbar or Notification bar some like me don't use both that means we are having problems with Themer each time we find a nice theme we must make it our-self thus its making Themer to buy just a gallery app for themes
I was using it with a custom rom taken from here but it did my S3 get very slow so I stopped using it.
But the themes are cool, keep up with the good work sir. :good:

We are looking into custom resolution support, but it's a very difficult procedure.
In the screens posted on the Play Store, many of them have no navbar and no status bar.
I understand handsets like HTC use hardware buttons over a navbar.
But removal of the status bar would also change the dimensions.
To achieve this would it be a case of apply the theme with status & dock enabled, then disable them when theme is applied?
Id try it myself and see, but im unable to use it due to my navbar.
I would imagine using something like Xposed's Per App DPI module, you could keep Themer at Stock DPI while using any other apps at a custom DPI, couldn't you?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I think people still enjoy a custom DPI for their homescreen too. Could you confirm that this works? I'll speak to the team about this...

I have two functionality suggestions;
- Gesture Suport. You have integrated swipe up / down for status bar, but a customisable gestures setting would be good. I'd rather swipe notification panel than status bar.
- Icon support. I'd like to be able to set an icon pack for the drawer, I hate stock. Oh and custom drawer tabs.
I had something else but I forget and I'm about to go into a tunnel.

Yeah I just found it when I started really playing with it. Could have sworn that wasn't there when I looked the first time.

Hooray for icons and app drawer.
I'm not sure if this is Themer related or another issue, but after reboot I have no widgets, you familiar with this?

Thanks for the heads up, yeah I worked out export / restore.
Not sure if you're aware of this one but I'm getting this message;
"RE -doing widget host, all widgets lost "
It happens when I export.
It also happens when I set notification bar to auto hide.

[Q] Any way to add on screen nexus style buttons?

There's probably a thread for this somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. I am looking to add nexus style on screen softbuttons to my razr. I am running paranoid android 4.2 beta pa_spyder-userdebugKVT49L. Is there a universal way of doing this though an app or a device specific mod?
Thanks

You mean the navigation bar. I think its already present in PA Roms. You need to enable it in settings.
I've searched both google and this form as well as dug though my settings. I can't find it. Is there something in the build prop that could be edited?

Have you checked out pie control? Or checked to see if your ROM supports it? Don't mean to put words in neo.ank mouth but, it might be what he is talking about.
Many ROM's support it.
One thing you have to remember is that you are dealing with a device that still has hardware buttons
Slim kat has an option for it but I had a lot of issues with slim. I've always preferred asop ROMs but I'd like the full google experience. Pie control is OK but I'd prefer something persistent.

Hard buttons are persistent..... I mean, with a launcher like Nova or Apex.. something to that effect, and the right .png files you could get the same effect modifying your dock but really, all you will be doing is taking up screen real estate.
