To maintain ICS and fix these problems, you may do a factory data reset; if you want to GB, flash with an official Samsung program an official package to restore GB.

Hello, i have upgraded my Bell Galaxy note to ICS using kies (it has been hard at first as OTA was failing and kies failed first time but got it right after)
After ICS installed and me very happy to have it at last i noticed twice now that LTE or my connection was dead and i had to reboot the phone to have it working again ... otherwise was like no network (showing LTE but no activity and not able to browse or send sms etc)
Any suggestion on what it could be or if a known issue with ICS ?
And where do i get the premium suite ? coming with the ICS update or need to download it somewhere else ?
Thanks for any help ....

Again i had to restart my phone as the radio was not working anymore (no signal) ... after reboot the signal was excellent .. (been doing that a couple of time since upgrade to ICS official ... any suggestion ? should i flash back to stock Bell without ICS and then upgrade again .. as the first time i upgraded to ICS it was on a phone already rooted and with CMW .. but no rom
well .. nobody answered yet so ... i will go on and flash stock Bell gingerbread and then update back to ICS with the phone all clean of everything to see if the intermittent not working signal will be fixed that way ...
Also i have not heard if any known LTE problems with ICS ? ....
Will update with my results .. hope i do not brick my phone
Simply wow ... i just flashed with a Bell stock system for gingerbread .. all fine but then i go to Kies or ota upgrade and no traces of ics ????? how can it get back the upgrade for ICS now ????
Hi guys...
Well today I first time used Kies. It was just for curiosity as I do all things via Odin.
However, I encountered strange thing. My SGS II got upgrade (from 4.0.3 >4.0.4), which is strange as Software Update in the phone kept saying No Update. So I let it do the business and the plugged in my SGS III and surprise : NOT SUPPORTED via Kies.
Not a big deal, as I said using Odin, but it's strange , isn't, that newest device and not supported.
Anyone had similar "experience" ???
Attached pics from both devices.
Note : noticed that the SIM lock status code ( *#7465625#) doesn't work anymore on both phones. Is there something "hidden" in 4.0.4 fw?
Do you have a custom rom installed? Because I had kies installed from when I had my sgs 1 and plugged in my gs 3 and it worked no problems ,offered to update my firmware but I did it OTA with wifi.
The only time I have seen the problem that your having is when i had custom or roms from another country installed, Unless your kies installation is corrupted which I doubt because it is working for your sgs2.
I also updated my s3 with no problems via kies before I custom I applied custom Rom perhaps try reinstalling kies/check for updates

Hi, no custom ROM installed. I got my S III from Vodafone. What I did straight out of box was flashing generic (not branded) ROM via Odin. Phone is OK, with great battery life, however I noticed another thing - it's working on G rather than H+ (I have full coverage)...

And another thing, with S II... After updating with Kies its serial number is all 0's...

May be flashing the rebranded version is causing this. There has to be some mis-match happening. Kies simply wouldn't say that simply.
By serial number, you mean IMEI???

Hi, no IMEI is ok thanks God  , but serial number is changed. It's in the About phone - Status - and scroll down. It's second last option...
Kies and Mountain Lion
I purchased a new galaxy S3 yesterday, 4 August to compare this device against my iPhone 4s.
I downloaded the latest version of Kies from Samsung's site and attempted to install it on my iMac running the Mountain Lion OS.
It would not load and came up with a message that Kies for MAC only supports up to OS 10.7
I have Googled the problem and it seems to be a common problem on ML 10.8
Hopefully Samsung come up with an update a.s.a.p
Any suggestions?
can't backup gs3 with Kies, it stucks when the backup starts. any suggestions?
I tried to update kies, it happens with stock rom too.

Man, you was right . The problem was that I had ROM for different country (NEE). Now flashed latest ROM with correct country code (BTU) and all OK. Kies recognized the phone and confirmed it has the latest official ROM available.Right now doing Restore to see if Kies can be usefull in the future

Its not stuck , depends on the size of your stuff it may look as "frozen" but need few minutes... My back up is about 9.8 GB and it took 5-7 minutes to start back up process. Same for restore...

You answered your own question
Kies supports MAC til 10.7 and Lion is 10.8... So only thing you need is patience till Samsung release update which is compatible with Mac ML.
But why you need Kies??? Just used it first time today, but not impressed. Did back up, but Restore "missed" apps, however the rest is ok (pics, music etc).
If you wanna flash different/custom ROM use Odin...
Hey everyone,
I'm trying to update to Jellybean on my EE UK S3, however, I have no software update button and Samsung Kies gives me no updates.

Tmobile/Orange havent released there 4.1 update yet
Hi,
I`m having the same problem.my workmate has the same phone on the same network (orange) and hes had the jellybean update for a few days now. Im getting really miffed as i got the phone on the day it came out and he got it a few weeks after yet he has the update without a problem.
You`re doing it the hard way.
Use Odin3... easy, fast, and certain to work.
Search the forums on how to upgrade to JB using Odin3.
It has been released on EE, many of my friend already have the jellybean update.
Is there any way to get my system restore button?
Any solutions?
One use Kies two ask your phone provider .
Three join XDA Developers forum .Four try a Samsung forum .

Hi All,
I am new to this forum and new to android world.
I have purchased unlocked Optus Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) from Australia and currenlty i am using it in India with Airtel. My mobile is installed with ICS 4.0.4.
I want Offical Jelly Bean firmware in my mobile.
Can i install Official Jelly Bean Rom released in SPAIN? Will it lock the the mobile after i install this ROM?
Or If i need to wait for Jellybean to realese in my region, Did i able to update Australian Version or Indian Version of Jellybean ROM or only the OPTUS version of ROM through Samsung Kies?
Please help me on this request.
Thanks,
Arun Panneerselvam
yes, you can install the jellybean from spain and no it will not lock your phone.
The choice is up to you. You try one of the custom roms on this site or wait for an official version through kies.
Updating kies may not happen this year because the roll out for jelly bean wil be uneven, no one knows what countries will get and when or if they will get jellybean at all.
Before installing you have to root your device,
then check and search on internet for your original rom (it could be useful if you need to send it to assistance in warranty)
If the phone is branded usually official updates came from carriers ,and often they need more time to release update after the unbranded is released since they want to put on it their customizations

What the devil are you talking about? You don't need to root in order to install the stock Samsung Jelly Bean firmware.
Hey everybody. I just purchased an HTC One ( a little late, but it wasn't available in my country, Mexico until about 2 weeks ago) I checked what version of Android I was running and I was unpleasantly surprised to know that I was running 4.1.2... I tried to update the software but the phone told me that I was running the latest version available for my phone... I wasn't planning on rooting but know that i'm stuck in 4.1.2 I might try to. Is there anyway I can update to at least 4.2.2? I would really appreciate some help.
