[MOD] CM6 Music player modded for status bar and lockscreens - Updated 10/28/2010

I really do not like the Samsung music app, so I modded the music app from
my CM6 (Music Mod 1.6) to work with the Samsung status bar and lock screens.
things work mostly the same some small differences, and as you can imagine
running both the Samsung music app and this one at the same time causes
issues.
update 10/28/2010
added 2 min notification timeout like Samsung app
added code change documentation and original CM6 Music app
added support for FroYo ROM's

Awesome work like always.
Any chance for the diff/tutorial to mod this ourselves? I'd prefer to start from the CM6 version with hdpi drawable files personally.
Anyway, thanks again, cheers, =)

It will take some time for me to go through my notes, and make sure that some one
else could make the edits, could you post the CM6 music app I'll make sure that the
edits work with the newer app.
thanks.
nevermind I found it

Nice, but the music player doesn't quit when paused and you use the back button.

that does not have any thing to do with the controls on the lockscreen
or status bar, but I could add it.
This is awesome! Everything works perfectly!
Works gggrreat on ji6 oclf.. tx op you got a fan.
im not impressed.. please evolve
Sweet, works for the 2.2 captivate as well. Only part that doesn't work, is pressing the button to directly open the music app.
So can we just install this alongside the default music player app (and not use it)? Or do we need to replace it?

you don't have to remove the the Samsung music player but if you run
both at the same time it's like having two TV's of the same make and
model in the same room while trying to use a remote control.
I think the app is sweet but i liked being able to pause and change songs from the lockscreen

What all does the .zip (flashable in CWM I'm assuming?) change above just pushing the .apk into /system/app?

copy Music.apk to internal sdcard install with the Samsung files app
the zip is the code change documentation and the original CM6 Music app and
is not flashable.

Thanks. Figured something was strange once I looked into the .zip. Also good call on renaming the file.
Going to give this a try and see if it is less of a power hog than stock.
Works great. Thanks man.
I feel dumb... I have no clue what I'm doing wrong but i can not get this to work ha.

Would you please, considering you have rooted, backup the Tool widget and send the apk in some manner? I installed Lollipop on my phone and it's no longer included. Thanks.

Can anyone upload UxpNxtLockScreen.apk for me please ?

Today, I've flashed my Xperia U to GB-ROCK V3, an awesome ROM "lag-free" BUT the lockscreen is very horrible... It's a fusion of ICS lockscreen with the two Gingerbread button in a huge size...
And i don't want to install something like WidgetLocker who consume too much RAM...
So if someone can upload the original lockscreen of ICS on Mega, mediafire or something else tht could be super Awesome !!!
Thanks a lot !!
Here it is lockscreen
Thanks a lot for your upload !!

How does your lockscreen look when you play music?
I dont know i dont listen to music at all..
You can try and rename it in to UxpNxtLockScreen.bak and try playing music , if you don like it... change the extension back in to .apk

Google keyboard themes(: !!! no root necessary

Okey so when i found this method on customizing themes for the awesome Google keyboard it literally made my day!
Okey so to get the theme you have to first download Apex or Nova launcher (you can uninstall this after theme applied).
Longpress on home and select "Shortcuts". Next hit Activities. Next find Google keyboard and select the Google keyboard that ends with "...debug settings" this creates shortcut on home page.
Then navigate to the shortcut and once you select it you will see a menu and it will have several different themes. I personally like the Gingerbread one (looks closest to Samsung keyboard but better because of autocorrect).
Afterwards you can uninstall the launcher and the theme remains!!!
Don't be shy to thank a Russian!

What am I missing? By longpress on home, you mean longpress the home screen right? So the menu to add stuff to the homescreen? then select shortcut. When I do this under apex launcher, or nova launcher, there is not a option for google keyboard in my shortcuts...
