[Q] Anyone else have 4g probs with VPN - Motorola Droid RAZR

Ever since getting my Razr I've had a problem with my VPN client and 4g connectivity. After launching the VPN at some point my data connection completely cuts off. I have to restart the phone to get reconnected to the network. I'm using Panda Pow and Tiger VPN. Any help to solve this prpblem? Never had any problems with my HTC Incredible.

[Q] Tethering works on 4G only finds google on 3G

I've been using wifi tether to connect my laptop to the internet. On my wife's Epic there are no issues - it works regardless of which radios are active.
On my Evo 3D, I find that it works fine with 4G enabled (As long as there is a strong 4G signal). However, when I am on 3G, I am only able to connect to google sites.
I'm using Wifi Tether 3.0-pre14. I've tried messing around with the DNS settings in wifi tether settings to no avail.
I figure if I spell this out here, somebody might be able to tell whether this is a problem with the configuration on my Evo 3D, with Wifi Tether or with the network. Given I haven't had these issues on my wife's phone, it is either something Evo 3D related, or something to do with the particular version of wifi tether I have on my phone.
Suggestions?
I have the exact same issue, barnacle works with all sites on 3g but only Google works with WiFi tether, it drove me nuts all night last night trying to figure it out, so I gave up..........please help

Changing the DNS servers from google to Open DNS appears to have fixed it.
Interestingly OpenDNS does not think that my laptop is connected to a router with openDNS set up. So I have no clue which DNS servers tethering is actually using.
I take it back. That no longer works. 4G is fine!
This issue appears to deal with it. A few Evo 3D posts there. http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/issues/detail?id=1047

Re: Wifi and 3G Problems

Re: Wifi and 3G Problems
This issue is about to drive me up a freaking wall.
When I'm connected to Wifi at my house and I leave and get out of wifi range my phone doesn't connect to mobile network. I have to reboot it every single time to connect to 3g.
I've called Sprint several times about this and they just walk me through the process check.
Is anybody else having this problem? If so do you know of a fix? Thanks

Mome connects after a minute at the most. Try putting into airplane mode and back. Also just for fun try updating prl

I'm having the same problem. Leave the house and phone still shows I'm connected to the WiFi. I turn WiFi off and get the 3G symbol, but apps are report that there is no data connection. Need to reboot to get 3G to work. Toggling Airplane mode doesn't fix connection.

Is Anyone Successfully Using Razr as BLUETOOTH Hotspot Indefinitely?

I have succeeded in setting up my Razr to share its internet connection over a bluetooth connection using the stock Verizon Mobile Hotspot app. My android tablet will connect to my Razr and use the Razr's internet connection -- for a while. After a few minutes of use, the the B/T connection is lost and cannot be reestablished. The tablet will show "paired but not connected." Nothing that I do can get it going again short of rebooting both devices.
So is anyone successfully using bluetooth for internet sharing without problems? For as long as desired?
If you are one of the lucky ones, how are you doing? What app? What devices? What OS and ROM is on your devices?

[Q] VPN connection disconnects randomly

Hi,
I just set up a VPN connection with my Galaxy Nexus to my Router at home. It works but I realized that the connection drops at some point. This is quite annoying because I want to use it as a security measure when staying at hotels and using their open WiFi. But when the VPN drops at some point and the WiFi stays connected this does not really make sense because my phone will keep sending data.
Is there anything I can do? Why disconnects the VPN at some point?
Can I at least tell the WiFi to cancel when the VPN drops?
Thank you!
