[Q] Video and Camera Problems - HTC EVO 3D

I've look all over the forums not just here but other places at well, i cannot find anything on this other than what i have seen. So the left camera on this device will some time pop up and on while video is playing. not just video shot from the device but from the a movie that was put on there as well. while the video is playing in landscape the left half of the screen will be the camera. the only way to correct it at this point is to home screen it or back arrow out or battery pull
steps taken so far
restored to new
re-seated the camera and the ribbons
restore to new again
replaced camera and ribbons
restored once more
at this point im at a lost here.
*photos will come shortly if at all possible Thanks for the help

Unable to Capture with Camera using Touch Pro

Hey guys, I have a touch pro which was giving me some issues, so I just got it replaced at the sprint store, so the phone I have right now is literally, hours old. I finished my setup process I have and then I got to testing the camera, and I'm not able to capture with the camera. I touch, press, and touch and press the capture button, but it doesn't capture, it switches shooting mode. whenever the capture button is hit, instead of capturing, the camera is set to the next shooting mode. If the button is pressed and then held, then the camera is changed to the next shooting mode, and then the capture/video/capture mode is set off and the capture is taken or the recording is started. If anyone has any suggestions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm kinda embarassed to say what the issue was. Since I got a new phone, and didn't have a screen protector for the new phone, I left the stoack one, but the one that is on the phone when it comes out of the box, the screen cover that covers the whole screen and the buttons. Well taht cover was not allowing me to correctly hit the capture button. The skin was removed, and my camera tested, and it's working fine.
Sorry about the bone head move guys, thanks anyways!

Maybe figured out the freezing camera - need testers for workaround

Ok, I think I might have figured out under what conditions the camera is freezing.
When the camera is started in portrait mode, the first shot will freeze, at least on my camera. That means when you use the camera icon on the unlock screen, it will freeze.
I tried these different scenarios, followed by a reboot each time (not temp-rooted on any of these):
Device portrait, used camera icon to on lockscreen unlock - camera freezes first picture
Device landscape, used camera icon on lockscreen to unlock - 5 quick pictures in a row no problem
Device portrait, used camera button to start camera - camera freezes first picture
Device landscape, used camera button to start camera - 5 quick pictures in a row no problem
Note that even though the lockscreen doesn't have a landscape orientation, the sensor knows the difference and it seems to affect the camera.
I have no idea why the starting orientation would affect the camera, but being careful to put your phone sideways before starting it up seems to prevent the freezing.
Anyone else with freezing camera issues want to give this a shot and report back?
I too had the camera freeze problem, formatted the card and issue went away. Not sure if this will help you or not.

I also have a random freeze in the camera, maybe once every few days.
I tried the steps as described above and the camera opened and shot good pictures every time....
Sorry i couldnt help

Wow. I'm having this issue too. It's freezing pretty often over here.
Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? I'm willing to exchange it (again) if it's the latter.
are there any updates to the camera issue? mine does it if i dont hold it the right way or mess with the 2d/3d switch....sucks....cmon htc release an update fix for this

Resolved Camera?

I hope I don't sound like a complete idiot but on my camera when it shows the video and camera shot buttons those are supposed to capture video or pics right. The only way I've been able to take pics is the vol buttons. Havnt been able to shoot any video. I Rooted last night but that's all I've done. Well I restored a few apps with titanium but nothing big. Turns out it was gmd autohide softkeys interfering.

Camera and Video Shutter on the same screen?

I've searched around for this and I can't find anything on it.
Before one of the kitkat updates, the camera and video shutters used to be on the same screen. Ever since then, they've been tucked away into a separate camera and video mode. It's super annoying to have to switch. I've noticed that on my friend's m8 and m9, that the two shutters are still on the same screen. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, does anyone know how to restore that button (short of rooting and putting on a custom camera)?

Armor 6 entered rainwater

Good night people
So, I was riding a motorcycle when I took a relatively heavy rain with the device in my pants pocket, when I got home I noticed no problem, everything was working normally, but after a few hours I went to use the camera on WhatsApp and realized that it it was not opening, when i went to the camera app i realized that the icon was gone (but it is still possible to access the app settings) and noticed that the cameras were foggy, as if there was water vapor inside, after a few days i can access front camera (as the first camera) and the secondary camera by whatsapp, but they are mirroring the image, if I put it in landscape mode the photo is upside down, and the flash is not accessible in the status bar because the system is considering the front as the main camera and it does not have a flash.
does anyone know how to solve?
and to complete the power button it stopped working, I am erasing the screen with two clicks and waking up the screen with the digit sensor, to restart the device I need to use the ADB via the usb cable.
since, thank you, i'm disappointed with this device.
