[Q] Return to stock? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey guys,
Sorry if I missed this but can someone point me to a thread or direct me on how to get back to stock once I've flashed a custom rom? I'm familiar with rooting and have done a bunch of it but all on HTC and Samsung, the Razr is my first Motorola.
I'd like to take the OTA is why I ask...
Thanks!

Are you cdma or gsm?

By far the simplest way is to download mattlgroff's Razr Utility - as well as being able to restore to stock for both GSM and CDMA, you can also do a bunch of other stuff like root and install recovery.

With S-ON, no you can't.
But is this a way to root your evo3d? Or am i mistaken?
no this is pre-rooted rom. If you had a custom Recovery you could flash it. There is no way for the most of us yet, wait a little bit revolutionary Team is working on it already.
how'd you know that they are working?

Hi,
Would you be able to do the same for RUU_Shooter_U_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.22.707.2_Radio_10.55.9020.00_10.13.9020.29_M_release_207422_signed.
I have flashed the Europe ROM by Virtuous Shooter and have Wifi Error. Need to revert back to Asia ROM deperately to get back the original ROM.
I cannot use the original Asia RUU to revert back as halfway thru it will give me error on device. I suspect this is due to using HTCdev bootloader unlock method
Got a question, if I got a euro EVO 3d then if i root and flash a different radio will it pick up different signals to better support it here in the USA or am I just stuck on edge??. If not is there any software adjustments that can be made to make it pick up at least 3g??

i suppose you could try flashing a rogers radio but i wouldnt recommend it. you may be able to make some tweaks in qpst or cdma workshop
TQ so much!!! Downloading now. Hopefully it works
Edit: YES!!! It Works
My phone is s-off but flash with based cmw not works error is status 0 solution?
Same here,have this recovery installed:
http://goo-inside.me/shooteru/clockworkmod
I tried now the Virtuous Shooter v.1.0.2 ROM with the same recovery
which I mentioned one post above. There are no problems!
Maybe something wrong with the "updater-script" at the ROM from this
thread.
Thanks Flashmaniac
why i dont can install this ROM?
im on the same Base, using GSM Evo and Clockwork.

Why the hell didn't I try to restore my Nandroid backup done in Bootstrap ? I thought, "nah, I'm wasting my time, it's 2 different recoveries". Glad to see I was wrong. It's a long winded process but since nobody offers further P-Roms or any 2nd-init one, our only option for a while.
Cool beans.
Step 4 is what I missed, good thinking there Loki!

The reason I put bootstrap in step 4 was so you didn't have to install it later and to also provide a fall back on a fresh restore.
So how you liking the MoPho? I know I made a few people mad in the Evo community when I switched but consider what the MoPho can do out of the box was there any doubt where I'd end up?

I based it off of the unroot/root testing method I used when I was testing and providing analysis for teamwin and orrbemas on the Evo. I was hoping the original exploit I used for the Evo would work for Juggs' unlock but it didn't. I know it's not pretty and will most likely require that you repeat it for every custom ROM install but it will do for now.
Awesome, now I can get my 4g back to tether the iPad.
I registered just to say thanks! You guys do amazing work around here, been reading for a long time. This worked perfectly!
is this with an unlocked bootloader? and can i still use caulkins other recovery after?

The short version is:
root
unlock bootloader
install recovery
install custom ROM
backup custom ROM
lock bootloader
root
restore custom ROM
enjoy 4G
Until there is a fix for unlocked 4g this is the only way to use run custom ROMs and still retain 4G. Every time you want to flash a ROM via recovery you need to repeat the steps.
Nice! I'll test this myself after work and add to the guide! Good job man!!

Im currently updated to the newest software update for the mopho and it's rooted. Is there anyway I can do all of this without the use of a computer. I know its alot to ask for.

I don't get Motorola devices. Why do we have to run bootstrap instead of just going into the custom recovery and backing up the rom there?

Bootstrap isn't needed til after the relock and root so you have a rooted stock backup and the ability to restore the custom ROM.

After step 5 CWM is no longer on the phone so you can't backup/restore using CWM only bootstrap. Also, restoring the custom ROM through bootstrap on a rooted but LOCKED phone is the only way to retain 4G at this moment.

How to update your rooted Mobilicity amaze to ICS

Thanks to Dark Nightmare and Football for the file and the instructions.
You can get the ICS update by reverting back to the stock mobilicity gingerbread ROM
Step 1: Download this
http://www.filefactory.com/file/6e4...1v2DC_30.67.550L.09_release_227348_signed.exe
Step 2: Wipe the phone
Step 3: go into fastboot
Step 4: lock your bootloader (use hasoon's tool to lock your bootloader)
Step 5: run the exe file you downloaded in step 1
Step 6: Check for update... download and install
Step 7: Repeat step 6
I make no promises this will work for you... It worked for me. I take no responsibility for anything you do to your phone... and In will not be able to help you since I probably know less that you.

Where can I find stock ruu for Mobilicity?
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using XDA
Ignore my last post, I'll delete it in a minute, we have no stock ruu for mobility and unless someone can get the CID for it, we won't know which stock that we do have might work, if any of them will, depending on the CID.
Do any of you know how to check your CID? Know how to use fastboot etc?

You can get the ota without changing the cid, but if you're on a custom recovery, then well, you're probably screwed, you'll need to s-off to get any chance of upgrading to ICS since we have no stock ruu for mobilicity to restore your devices with.
Can we sill upgrade to ICS rom without reverting our phones to stock?|

Nope and we don't have a stock image, so no clue how you guys will revert to stock until we get one, unless you s-off and use another providers stock rom.

Yeah. I have been searching for the stock recovery for this device. Haven't been able to find it.

i dont know if we can just flash the dev edition??? and then flash the tmobile ratio??
I have a t-mobile variant that I changed to the developer edition thru s-off but for some reason, I feel like my data speeds are slower. We are talking about 2-7mbps from 10-20mbps.... So I don't know if I need to flash something else to it.. Like the t-mobile radio.. But how would I do that?

Unless you specifically did that via RUU, the radios did not change. The ROMs don't contain the radio.

Yes, I changed the RUU to the one provided on the htc website. I also changed my Cid from its stock to Cid 11111111 hypothetically speaking, if I wanted to go back to complete stock, is that possible? If not, what is my alternative to enjoying the developer edition

Ouch, that may have flashed the radio. There are a couple of threads about flashing the TMO radio (attempting to get AWS on international ROMS). You could flash the radio from those, but I don't have a high confidence that those radio files contain everything needed to get AWS back onto a TMO phone that has been RUU.
Here is one of them, take a look:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247171
EDIT: Eventually TMO will release an update for 4.2.2, that will definitely take you back to stock.
Oh ok thanks a lot. Dan I didn't know it would do that .. I hope I didn't screw my phone up... But hopefully the RUU that htc will release in the future will be beneficiary to me.. Because I still have 3g, hspa+ and in sure I will get low

Yeah, be sure and read the requirements for flashing when it comes out. I think you have to go back to stock recovery, for one thing. Good luck!
