Google Drive - Defy Themes and Apps

Has anyone started using "drive", I'm curious to know if anyone shares with it.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA

down loaded the app but it says will notify me when ready
so ill let you know

i got it stated, now i remember why i dont like cloud storage. Uploading three roms is a ***** to do, it shoud be ready check of they upgraded you to 10 gig free when you finally get on.

Why?
I like cloud more than those old usb's.
Maybe for Android users Google should give more space than usual but 5gb is enough if integration will be fine...only thing I need is "camera upload" feature from Dropbox and downloading directly from servers to a folder without using my upload speed (it's much faster and urldroplet is the only way for dropbox)...
Google rules.

No ubuntu (or any linux) support yet, so... i'll stick with ubuntu one (the same 5gb free)

CUBBY from logmein looks most promising among these cloud service. Unlimited p2p sharing is a novelty -

Yup. kinda scary...

I've just got an email, that Google Drive has just been activated for my account! I'm going to explore it now

The desktop Google drive application is a million times better than the Google drive android app.
Currently the Android app is slow to launch and navigate.. This is where the Dropbox app shines..
On the desktop side things are much better and simpler..
I hope we get some serious revision soon for the Android app..

Yes, the Desktop GoogleDrive application works great, but the Android app is not slow and it's easy to use!

The Android Google Drive app is stil based around the original Google Docs app.
The startup time and navigation is slow.. The app needs a redesign from the ground up..
I'm running WIUI..

Anyone know if is it possible to download file from GDrive and move them in the Sd card ,with android app i mean? Or where the app store the offline file

i use....its vey nice and useful.....use it!

I really like Google Drive, almost as good as dropbox.

I would use it more if it would auto upload pics like dropbox. I'm sure the feature will come though. I love my dropbox, wish it had more space.

This feature is in the google+ app.
I prefer the dropbox app however having everything google based makes things a lot easier.

Actually I've installed it and had a try but feel more confortable using other services. It keeps on force closing when more than two apps are running in background so wiped it out.

a good try

It has a long way to go.
While sync is good, there's no option for Auto-upload a folder's content as in the desktop application.
Most annoying of all, everything you upload from your device is 'Private' and to change it, you need to access drive on your desktop. This fixed and it will be quite bearable.

Google Music Beta

Anyone here a part of it? I'm actually loving it right now. The fact that I don't really need to worry about sdcard space saves me. I can just stream my music to my phone since I always have an excellent wifi/4g signal. It can automatically copy your itunes/windows media/etc.. playlists and settings and this is a plus. What do you guys think?
I also love the service, but the app itself could use some work. it is a bit wonky.
Biggest pain was getting my 50gb music collection uploaded. Glaring issue is that I need to organize my music better.
Yeah I have It, but I think the app needs an overhaul.
Sent from my E3D using Tapatalk
I have been on Google Music Beta for about 2 months. The only problem is that it would not sync my iTunes acct. I contacted Google and they asked me to send the crash log (don't know why I didn't just send that with the initial email) but they have not yet gotten back to me. I have just about given up on Google Support as I have sent them 4 emails in the last month. It would be perfect if I could get this to work on the E3D.
I had the same issue but when I cleared data it began to work flawlessly.

I've been using it as well, but noticed that the Music Manager can be quite finicky with the uploads. There's definitely been many songs that haven't uploaded for no apparent reason.
also, i wish we could upload lossless (flac) and not have it converted to mp3.
other than that, i've been pretty happy with it.

I agree, i love the concept but the app could really use some work. I really like the native music player on the phone.
Also the album art is a joke. I now have Pitbull as the default album art for everything.

No it doesn't let you send out invites....you just gotta wait to get yours...it took me like two months and I know some people who got it in two weeks ...and they requested their invite much later than me.....
I like Google music but the Android app could use some work...better app optimization when scrolling through tracks, albums or artists.....right now it just lags when you scroll.....Also for some reason the tracks in some of my albums do not get sorted by lowest track number to highest .....
Other than that its great.
it's nice and it's growing on me, but here are my quirks
You aren't able to download your music. As far as I know this can only be done on your phone. It's nice that it's in the 'cloud'; however, I still need to maintain a copy on my computer if I need to transfer it to some other device or media that doesn't have the ability to connect to GMusic.
Better online sound quality. Over the phone it seems to sound much better than through a web browser on my pc.

One thing I noticed is that even if I have "Sync music" unchecked in my Accounts & Sync settings, the Google Music service will sometimes still start itself up without me ever opening the app. Happens about half the time I do a reboot.
I'm using the service as well and I really like it. On my original evo I had a issue with it constantly disconnecting from my gmail account. Now with the 3D I haven't seen that problem yet

Google Music
Sup guys, quick question, does anyone have Google music up and running completely on R.G. 2.1 or Virtuous Unity Sense ? I have the music manager set up on my laptop, I downloaded the app from the market, but when I go to Menu/settings/Sync, there is no option to sync music or is this an option at all ? I hope that I'm posting this in the right forum, thanks in advance for your help....
Thing I hate is sometimes for no reason the music manager will give me errors for music i'm trying to upload. Then a few days later I look at it when im about to upload something else and all of the errors that were there are gone and the songs have actually downloaded. That and the fact that sometimes it duplicates music.

I wish people would just post 1 or 2 apps, as huge lists with no explanations are kind of pointless.
With that said, I just got a GS2 and have been trying out some new apps I never bothered with on my Droid 1.
I'm using Plume for Twitter. It seems like the highest rated twitter client, and I can see why. It's really smooth and slick and has a pretty intuitive interface. I'm liking it a lot and see no reason to ever try another Twitter app.
Llama- Ever wanted to try tasker or Locale, or jealous of the Razr's 'smart actions' app, but didn't want to spend money on any of them? This is a free automatic settings manager and so far it seems really powerful. I'm just getting it set up today, so I don't know how well it works in practice, but it seems to be able to do anything the paid apps do if not more. I always wanted to see how one of these apps really worked but didn't want to pay 6 bucks for one like Tasker so I'd say this is worth trying out if you're looking for something like this.

At some point, people just have to give it a closer look and try it themselves. Anything in my list without a brief explanation is self explanatory.

Some of my favorite, less know apps:
MobiReader Pro: a picture OCR, done completely on your phone. Turns the text in the picture to a text document, where I then use...
CopyPaste Pro: to copy that text and move it to QuickOffice, and use Evernote, and bam! Document for my computer.
FourTracks Pro: for the mobile musician - it allows you to record four tracks much in the same way GarageBand allows you to, and using a couple other programs, I can mix, edit, and produce all on my phone.
ROMToolbox: amazing program. It combines many programs into one. Just look it up on Market. It's worth every penny.
WifiKill: a fun, trolling, but useful program. Kills any other devices connected to your wiring. So say your wife or children are using the internet, downloading movies and whatnot, you can use this app to cut them off, and get all that bandwidth back for yourself.
Finally, N64oid: a great N64 emulator. Nuff said.

zzzap.it
We have released zzzap.it out of private beta a couple of days ago. It's actually quite similar and allows you to send any file from your desktop's web browser to an Android phone. There's an optional Chrome browser plugin that resembles the Chrome-to-Phone functionality as well. No user accounts required. The file size is currently limited to 10 Megabytes.
Would be nice to get some initial feedback in case you want to try it out. Thanks!

[APP] ESPN Scorecenter v3

There was a major UI overhaul for this app today, but the Play Store says the new version is not compatible with the DNA (nor any tablets from what I'm reading.) Fortunately, sideloading fixes this issue.

its basically just their mobile site you can get from the browser, but I find it works a little better than just using it in the browser. I hate using ESPNs apps, I just want some damn score and box scores. I don't want to add favorite teams, I don't care what your different talking heads have to say, I don't want to watch your videos, I don't need the latest update on Tebow, and I don't care who your sleepers are for this week in fantasy golf. I just want some damn scores, which their "Scorecenter" app makes somewhat difficult at times to provide.
With that said, the new update has made some progress over the old version and is a step in the right direction lol.

[Q] I want my phone pics to automagically appear on my computer. How?

I've spent way too much time searching the web to try to figure this out. Usually i can answer my questions pretty quickly but i must be searching poorly or this is a difficult subject.
I have an android phone (Moto Droid Mini XT1030, though i wouldn't think it should matter) and i want the pictures i take with it to automatically be sent to a folder on my PC everytime i am connected to a wifi network. Currently they automatically go to Google+ which is of debatable value. Sometimes Google products are fantastic and other times they seem to be missing such blatantly obvious features that it makes me crazy... but i digress.
I don't want to install any 3rd party apps if at all possible, especially on the PC. I already have G Drive installed on the PC and a drive folder would be sufficient (as opposed to a conventional folder on the PC) if that's easier to accomplish.
Any ideas? Have i stated my question clearly or confused it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

You can use ADB, Windows Batch Programme and Task Schedular (batch and task schedular built in windows).
Use ADB sync command. Make its batch file and make it automatically run with task schedular. If you are interested, I will explain detailed instructions.

Thanks hnkotnis but that sounds a little complicated. I was really hoping there was just a setting to toggle buried in a menu somewhere on my phone. I guess it's not going to be that easy.
Am I the only one that wants this feature? It seems like it would be a common request. How do other people transfer photos from their phones on to the computer? Manually every time?
