[ROM] Frostmod 2.0 - Nexus One Android Development

Hello there. I originaly made Frostmod for the og droid, but being that I recently got a nexus one, I thought i would bring it over here. Frostmod is gingerbread rom based on Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 RC1. I designed it to be highly customizable, and it has almost no native theming, so you can make it look the way you want. It includes my own app frostmod toolbox app which allows you to switch recoveries, launchers, boot animations, fonts, reboot, and will eventualy allow lower level system settings. this ROM also includes many extra theme options. In the theme manager you will find my frostmod theme which gives the device a nice blue look, and in the cyanogenmod lockscreen settings, you will find my frostmod lockscreen style. Bellow you will find the changelog, and many screen shots. . I hope you guys enjoy this. If you do please press the thanks button
Once you install go into the about settings menu, and click on the frostmod version. It will give you advice, the change log and more
Download: Frostmod V2.0 Passion:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46535328/Frostmod_V2.0-Passion.zip
Thanks goes to
cyanogenmod, for all of their amazing developent, hardwork, and because it is the base of my ROM.
Koush and Madmaxx82 for the recoveries used in my app.
Screen shots were taken with my theme frostmod locksreen style on, and ics clock font installed.
Disclaimer. I can not be held responsible if this does any damage to your phone, wife, children, or anything else you can think of

which hboot is required ?

You can eaither use the factory stock hboot, or blackrose with the stock layout. If you are using blackrose it should say something at the top like STOCK-145/95/186
if you have blackrose installed, then flash this:http://dl.dropbox.com/u/46535328/hboot_blackrose.nb0.zip
if not, the do nothing

Im sure thats fine. Its a gingerbread rom so nothing special is really needed.

Hi, I tried CM9 on my Nexus One but found it is not good enough for daily use. CM7.2 RC1 seems good for me. I would like to give your ROM a try. Before that, I'd like to check with you that if a2sd or similar is supported by your ROM? Thanks.
Btw, is there anyway to implement MIUI style digital battery display on status bar, like MeDroid CM9 does? thanks.

Couple of things,
1) Can you offer a setting to get the torch to light up when long pressing home button on lockscreen?
2) Does this ROM come with DSPManager and other CM apps?
3) Can we use S2E (a2ext script that only works with CM)?
4) Is this just a straight port from the Droid or did you build it from scratch on our device?
Thanks.

1: Idon't know.
2: Yes most except dev tools and spare parts, but with dsp and filemanager and torch etc.
3: Yes S2E Compatible
4: Based on CM7.2 RC1 For passion. I think.
Hope that helped.

He answered most of the questions. I did build it from scratch for the passion, and I can certainly try to get the torch to light up when long pressing the home button

Running smooth so far IV been using it all day, but my question. How hard would it be to port miui's camera to your rom? Is it even possable? I really should learn how to compile my own rom xD

It shouldn't be that hard. I could even add add it to frostmod toolbox so you could switch between aosp and miui camera.

This is definitely smooth and quite fast - have put it through the paces and no bugs. Thanks for the nice work, I'll be using this for my daily driver for a while!

its the only reason why i keep going back to use miui (just for the advanced camera features) this would be the perfect rom if it had that option

update - the app itself force closes. I do not know yet what other resources it requires
Update2- I got the app to run
Don't expect any more etas. I'm working on other things, and enjoying my summer.

Pulldown Notification widgets (wifi,bt...)

Is there a way you guys can make some kind of "add-on" like this?
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/pulldown-notification-widget-mod-for-virtuous-rom/, so we could have all toggles in one place in notification bar?
It's present in all cyanogenmod based ROMs, such as miniCM, Nexus, Elelinux and I guess in 2.3.3 ROMs as well.
Would it be possible to put them on stock Rom like they are in cm7 minicm, using stock Rom at the moment and miss them quite bad. Lol

This would be nice for stock rom - you are right. btw: I already tried cyanogen mod roms - but with the SU bug they are unusable for me

Well, pull CM settings files from any 2.2 ROM and try to install/adjust it to 2.1, there's a slight possibility you will succeed. Or maybe there are sources for CM based on 2.1 ROMs, when there was no froyo and ginger, look it up on CM website
I was wondering for stock rom too. It would be great that someone from dev-s who implemented that into CM, tries to make some script for stock rom

You can try widgetsoid.

@Graveir - if I knew where it is, or how to do that, I wouldn't be asking here
Widgetsoid isn't the same as pull down menu...
There's also apps that can add toggles to notification pulldown. Like Power Control Plus.
How?? I have power control but there is no option for notification bar...
It's an option that pops up on first page if you launch it from App Drawer (not add widget).

it would be great if the stock rom have this , se roms suck and custom roms are buggy too bad for such a cute stylish handset
I presume that stock rom doesn't support multiple notification clicks? It there a way to enable this feature(?

right, phoenix-android have to be hardcoded because every theme used with
theme apps are slowing down the system:
i try to explain why:
Android have a standard builtin "theme" or "style", a different for Froyo, another for Gingerbread and another for ICS.
Every UI element looks for a "theme"-option other than the builtin, if another theme is found, the element have to
load the new theme resources on the fly when creating the element. this triggers a re-draw on the element and slows
the system because it must be done for every element in the activity, so loading gets slow and even when using the
app: all loaded resources arent cached because the themechooser app stays "on the top" on each application and isnt builtin.
@Dax
Why don't you complete your projects before you start new ones?
What happened to GBS,Sonygenmod?
Also, ICCS needs a stable patcher because their are so many features and apps which have colour overlap and also ADW FC's all over.
I appreciate you trying to start new projects which IMO have loads of potential and currently seems like an awesome idea.
However, i think you should consider finishing the older projects before starting new ones.
Don't take this as a personal hate message or something, but this is just some constructive criticism.

been running this since last night. definitly smoothest AOSP rom i have ran so far! plus microphone works great and battery life is just as good if not better than touchwiz so far. on pace for 5 hrs screen on time which is about what i normally can get on touchwiz roms. literally the ONLY bug i can find is the camera and once thats fixed this will be golden. only AOSP rom i have stuck with and the dark theming/inverted gapps look soooo clean.
thanks alot for this!

Help finding suitable Rom

I'm looking for a Rom that has a stock android look and feel, like the stock status bar and stock look for settings, while still maintaining a great camera and gallery app, preferably the touchwiz ones. The air gestures are nice to but not absolutely necessary. A stock android like lock screen is also a must.
Any help is appreciated

When you say Stock Android look and feel do you mean AOSP?
Hyperdrive has a lot of options for pretty much every apsect of the rom
Eclipse S4 TW Edition is basically a TW rom with the look and feel of AOSP. Those are the two best in my opinion. If you're really trying to get down to nearly pure AOSP programs and stuff you can check out Andybone's Barebones Rom too. It just depends on how AOSP like you wanna go.

An AOSP theme is coming thanks to nito for giving me the permission to use his work.
Tried your Rom, was great but I didn't like how the Rom settings say there is an aosp lock screen but nothing happens when I toggle it. Also you need to add a default music player, be it Samsung's or play music. Also hated how it doesn't restore all apps, had to manually do that.

Google auto restores your apps,...
Not ROM related.
also there is NOTHING wrong with the AOSP lock screen,
and Samsung Music is found in Aroma, choose hub..
I suggest doing a FULL CLEAN install, and NOT installing anything outside my thread.
I can only assume you flashed an android.policy.jar and that broke the AOSP lock screen. User Error.
Also I don't include ANY app you can download from the play store.. why would I?
waste of space.
Everything you hate about my ROM can all be solved by fixing your user errors, and a little research.

[MOD][Android 4.4.2] Translucent Lockscreen/Nav- and Statusbar [RastaKat]

Thank you for creating this mod, much appreciated.
To give some feedback: it bootlooped on my end on the first try. Reverting with your zip worked though. Then I tried for a second time and it worked.
The performance drawback in Google Experience Launcher is noticeable. The are quite some frame drops when swiping to Google Now, switching in and out of the app drawer etc. So I decided to revert the patch after all as having fluid transitions is more important to me.

Yes, I was using GEL (will edit my comment to make it clear). Will try Nova beta.
Update for latest "RastaKat". Enjoy it.
This doesnt work for me. Is it supposed to work in any launcher? I cant get it to work on any launcher on rastakat. Also should it work on any navbar height?
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
It should work on GEL, the latest beta versions of Apex and Nova. I dont know about any launcher. If it supports the translucent stuff, it should work. But its only on desktop and lockscreen.
