Battery solution for poor Mini pro battery? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hello,
I purchased a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro but batter lifetime is very poor and I need to keep connected my mobile in charger on every 3 - 4 hours.
Do you know any good solution to replace this battery with higher power or there is any charger available for this mobile so I can charge my mobile without connecting charger in electricity?

3-4 hours? WTF?
Do you have everything on and you're playing a game? What Rom are you running? OC? Give us some details about your device and how it's set up

There is currently no known higher capacity batteries available for 2011 Xperia phones.
Although you can buy external battery pack, these are in various size and capacity, allows you to recharge your battery via regular USB cable. Just search on internet.

i USE 3 batterys lol

best way which i found to extend my phone battery is changing the stock rom..and now i am gettin almost 2 days battery life..only thing u hav to unlock the phone

I am getting 3 days battery life. wifi/data-off(turn on only when you need), bravia engine-off(i dont seed the difference when is on), brightness 25%, only gsm network, screen timeout 15s, display-no animations, backgrond data traffic-off(if you use google play it must be on), smartassV2 governor.

If you're ok with rooting/ bootloader unlocking you should flash a custom kernel and custom ROM.
Spartan ROM & Rage kernel is what I'd recommend...
My battery last up to 3 days with moderate use. heavy use 1-2days.

Unlocking the bootloader will do your work !!!
Get it unlocked.....u have ur battery problem....

Just unlocking bootloader will not affect battery at all.

LoL!
You need to unlock BL to be able to flash custom kernel and most ROM's.
Just unlockin BL doesn't do squat -.-

LoL....my bad !!!

I get no issues with battery drain on any gingerbread rom on my x10 mini pro. It lasts 2 days with heavy usage, I get the same battery drain with using stock rom aswell so I experience no issues.
It may take a few days to get the battery draining right after a full clean install of a new rom for me but then it stabilizes.
If you are having big battery drain issues. Then how about saying what apps you use on your phone. Some apps are known to cause battery drain issues. Google Maps being one of the big ones on any gingerbread rom that we have.

Why all rom has the same battery life?

As the title says!
I always get the same battery life on any rom's flashed i even do calibrations.
Now don't get me wrong im not complaining or anything its just that before i could see the battery life changes in each rom ?
Can a battery get over used (old) ?

Lipol batteries loose charge capacity eventually after like 10000 charge cycles or something. Only poorly coded/alpha roms will have a serious effect on your battery life hope this helps

I mean some rom's advertise as better battery life and such but i never find a difference :O

I was just teasing buddy
& getting to the point, we can add some battery tweaks to a custom rom than the stock rom. But we have to keep in mind that the less battery consuming means less performance. For instance, we can reduce wifi scan interval, so the battery life will be somewhat tweaked. But alas! Then users will complain that there is a issue with wifi, network finding time is very slow in this rom, etc, etc.
So the conclusion is, if you need a rom to be good or perfect, we'll need everything to be balanced. So everyone should be happy. So the battery life maybe same in every rom ( depending on usage) .

Try Cool ICS rom with their custom kernel. I've installed the latest version and so far, it is very stable, battery efficient and a very speedy rom as well. Always remember to do a nandroid backup before flashing either a rom or a kernel. Use 4ext recovery or something similar to do so.
Cheers

Are you gsm or cdma? If the rom is one or the other, yes you could possibly port it, but it's not easy.

Hello, i had the same problem as u do. But cool ICS has saved me. I have installed Cool Ics V11 and have his kernel V1.7. Also I`m s-on, unlocked by htc dev. Just follow his instruction how to install the rom. When u finish with installing the rom u need "flash image GUI" app that u will use to flash the kernel. u can find the post about it but its not complicated to use. When u finish that u can use "System Tuner" or "System Tuner pro" to configure your system performance... I de-clock-ed my cpu a bit, set minimum freq to 192 mhz loaded the Gov. that says powersawer; all that u can finde whan u click on cpu icon... u can experiment and see what is the best for your usage....

Forgot to add: I use g-talk, whats-app, instagram, always on (facebook, g+, twitter and Voxer) battery life for me is 14-15h, when i dont use my phone that much battery life is around 2d+

I am also using xICS Hybrid ROM but strangely I found the battery performance much worse as compared to stock GB ROM. Battery life was just like it was on stock ICS ROM.
I lose around 35-40% of battery overnight(on standby) with 2G on.It just lasts around 3/4 of a day with miinimum usage

Battery drain?

Is it normal for my neo v battery to drain this much when using mobile data? I lose 1% every minute or so... Like now.. I just got 100% charged and after a few sec of pulling off my charger, the battery starts to drain 1% every minute that i am using data but when the phone is on standby battery is alright.
Im on a custom rom- uhd 5.0.1 and my kernel is stock from 4.0.4...bl locked

I always have my packet data on and for about a year I never went over 10%/hour while browsing net outside of WiFi range.
In my case I narrowed the problem down basically to "screen on" state. Suddenly it multiplied power consumption even with packet data and GSM off (level of brightness doesn't matter, simply being on did this).
It persisted through ROM changes (reverting back to stock, different ICS, GB and JB ROMs). I'm not alone in this, as I found dozens of similar cases all over the net, but no solution. Some suggest hardware malfunction, like motherboard short-circuiting.
@halfblack :Well maybe I'm mistaken. But that's normal on some ROMs. My bad! Never faced such an issue.
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm sorry if I sounded aggressive. It's just that inability to deal with this problem is frustrating.
And you are surely right about some ROMs, especially ICS-based, having minor or major battery issues. UHD should, in my case does, have it under control though.

there's a lot you can do, either get a new custom rom, try a different kernel, go for stock based ones, it's always good to start there. check whether you have gprs or data activated which usually causes drain. how much your battery is being used also dictates towards the drain. if all the above is ok, the kernel might be the issue for rapid drain
get screenies so we can guide you better...

The stock roms and stock based roms are not at all battery friendly...I'm on moProject42 4.2.2 and my battery hardly drains even if I leave wifi on without switching on wifi optimization. My battery drain is about 1% every 7-8 mins if wifi and screen are on.. I always have around 180mb free ram (which I think almost no one gets after 7-8 hrs of use in ICS based stock roms), use SmartassH3 CPU governor on just 806MHz and still don't face slightest lag in any game I play (Temple run, subway surfers, MotoGP)
The point is there is loads of bloatware running in such roms that battery drain is normal..
Most of the stock based roms and stock roms lack lots of battery and performance tweaks...It's time to switch to cyanogenmod

as far as i remember, ultimate hd 5.0.1 has offline charging...but if you are getting a bootloop then i'd recommend a re-install or if u've installed a custom rom then do the same..but if it still doesn't work then try flashing a different rom...
A word of advice..
1. CM , AOSP and AOKP roms are under continuous process of beta testing..So dont judge I'm on aokp 4.1.2 for now and wifi is still buggy but i can manage(i mean android 4.4 is out now)
2. Try roms based on stock but are completely stripped and are still customizable..eg. JJ Hybrid 3.3 rom. Ultimate HD is very good but apparently a lil too much for our neo v Happy Flashing!:good:
