Sent from my X10S using XDA

I want to put rom file in the phone and I almost destroy it.

U need to download the Rom of choice to your pc. Then u need to copy it somewhere onto your sd card that is easily located (personally I have go oder on my sd called roms so I put them there). Then u must boot into recovery and install the zip from where u placed it on sd card. If u not sure bout anything I said let us know I'll explain in more detail if u need
Sent from my X10S using XDA

I made it all but it will not work properly,I think the problem is with kernels. After boot stays frozen.I change the rom to update.zip and then i use xrecovery.

U don't need to change to update.zip just select install custom zip then go to sd card and find it
Sent from my X10S using XDA

do i need to change a kernel? You say that I only need to copy any rom on the SD card.means that i only need to find with xrecovery at custom zip that rom and that is it.Now I will try again

Flash global generic firmware pal and start again I'd say

Tell you how to install v14.2 in right way
Hi friend . If you want to use V14.2 Rom follow those. In all the steps before you need make sure your x10 is unlocked bl (important) .First you need flash kernel suitable for V14.2 (u can find it in where you download Rom ,The recover have been merged into kernel .I think you can't open xrecover now because you install it in the Rom ,you can't open xrecover in a new rom without it .if you flash kernel bring xrecover ,that means you can use it in any rom hehe) Then open cwm recover install V14.2 Rom in you sdcard (I think it still in you sdcard if you didn't delete it ) Tha's all .Now you can use V14.2 .Enjoy

If I were you Id use pcc/seus and go back to stock. Then look at Crowds guide, follow it and unlock bl.
I run Feras v14.2 and everything works fine

[Q]Problem Installing Cyanogen 7 on my Neo

Hi all senior xda-developers XD
I'm new on Android.
I'm using SE Xperia Neo running GingerBread 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.62 with unlocked bootloader without root.
I try to installing Cyanogen 7 on my Neo but it always failed just reboot, reboot, reboot and reboot..
I have follow the wiki on the Cyanogen site when installing it, i try it 2 times and got the same result so i relock the BL and back to original stock firmware
Can someone tell me what's going wrong? or should i root it first before installing Cyanogen?
Have you flashed kernel with fast boot yes
Sent from my MT15i using xda premium
No, because i don't know how to flash kernel and it is not on the Cyanogen installation wiki.
So, i need to flash the kernel first?

Here you go!Follow those step and you get cm7
So, "flash new kernel (always use the kernel provided in CM7 / it is incompatible with stock ROM)
ON PC - run fastboot flash boot boot.img (an black window will open and will stay open untill kernel is flashed)" this step is called flash kernel?
I've done it.. It said extract the CM7 packed and place the boot.img file on the same folder with Fastboot then run the command.
I just forgot whether i have wipe the data or not XD
Btw sorry for my english..
Anyway i read this:
" Hi all
Am a newbie in android things n just read here n there for info bout rooting
So i have a few things to clear out if some1 can help me sort out
1: Do i have to root my se neo if i wana put cm7 ?
2: Does rooting mean i can delete useless apps (not added ones nor dwnloaded ones) frm the firmware so that i can free rams in ma fone?
thx 4 reply
Hello
1.yes you need to root and unlock boot loader to use cm7
2.yes,after rooting using file manager like Root explorer you can delete unwanted apps aka bloatware"
So, if he true. I need to root my Neo first before installing CM7 on my Neo?

This tread should be in Q&A not in DEV.
Anyway do U have bootloader unlocked?
That rom is a 2.3 rom and you need to have and unlocked bootloader. You need to have 2.3 on your device first which would you would find in my signature below. So skip through the tread and find 2.3 Download it and flash it and try the rom again.
Sent from my X10i
Dude u r in 2.1 now. It has a baseband of .49 or .54. GB needs a baseband of .71. So the only option is first u download a pre-rooted firmware image and flash it via flashtool. U will boot into GB. Then unlock bootloader using Laser's method and install custom kernel like DoomKernel.
Follow this method
[RECOVERY image] {v2} X10 GB 3.0.1.G.0.75 [Prerooted + Fixed xRecovery] to insatll the prerooted firmware using flashtool.
Unlock bootloader using this steps from
[HOW-TO]UNLOCK bootloader for X10
Then flash DoomKernel from this link
[KERNEL][X10] DooMKernel [UNLOCKED BOOTLOADERS]{Rel:v06}[Dt:10/Jan][FW3.0.1.G.0.75] and boot up into stock rom or the previous GB rom u r using.
For Stock based roms, DoomKernel is simply the best.
For CM7 based roms, use FXP 130 kernel provided here FXP 130 and
For CM9 based roms, use FXP 132 kernel for better performance which u can download in FXP CM9 Thread.

i will write here what i did
so other can have an easy install
thanks to brenty108 for the help
If that rom is in ftf format
Open with 7zip or winrar
Look for kernel.sin
And place it in a folder
In flashtool create kernel
Point it to the folder containing kernel.sin
You should then be able to place your created kernel into firmware folder and flash it
I haven't had much experience with those roms so it's just a suggestion

(SOLVED) Getting Failures in every single ROM installation

Folks, someone please help me out.
desperate situation here.
Xperia mini 15sti : rooted, unlocked bootloader, busyboxed, RecoveryX installed (version for 2.3.4) - firmware 4.0.42 version : gingerbread
None of the ROMs I've downloaded have worked so far. Everything results in an error or another. It is incredible how difficult I'm finding this to be.
CM10 : gives me assert errors. Saying its not smultron. I've removed the assert check in updater, then it starts giving me installation aborted after some time.
CM9 : same assert error
ParanoidAndroid : symlink errors during installation
AOKP : installation fails with set path something
I've spent countless hours on finding out the root cause of my problem - but given that everything fails, I am guessing there is something elementary that is missing (or wrong in my approach)
I'm on android gingerbread, and trying to jump to either JB or ICS nothing really works here (I follow the usual wipe data cache everything with every single install attempt so far. And then start with rooting flashing firmware back to 4.0.42, then recoverX, then new ROM etc)
please help

Okay, let me tell step by step tell what should be done.
1. Flash rage kernel for gb (3.0)(fixed)
2. Download any stock based gb Rom for your device . For example , clean and tweaked gingerbread Rom by serjar. Place the rom zip in the root of your sd card.
3.Reboot into CWM recovery (included in rage kernel no need to flash CWM separately)
4. Do factory wipe from CWM.
5. Flash the Rom zip from CWM . In the example case it is clean and tweaked gingerbread Rom from serjar .
If flashing throws any errors then post the error here.

No I think notepad++ does that by default. What you need to see is that it didnt give any assert error, tried to install for a while .. and then gave the error : installation aborted
Secondly, I'm getting errors in every single ROM out here. Now trying the GB rom .. will post the results, and thanks for assisting so far mate

Update! Cyanogenmod 7.2 installed OK. So gingerbread is installing
Is it because of RecoverX then? Because while installing RecoverX it asks which version of xperia mini do you want - and I use android 2.3.4 - could it be the recovery not letting JB or ICS install then? Its 5.0.2.8 or something the one that I have
Pl let me know what to do next. cheers
Notepad doesn't change eol to Unix by default. After installing a prerooted kernel you don't have to use recovery x . after all that's the point in a preroot kernel! It comes with root and CWM recovery in built! Now what? Start flashing Roms, kernels and start exploring the infinite possibilities of android!
and hit the thanks button, it's more appreciated than typing thanks

For ICS or JB you don't need recoverx, if you use a custom kernel you can just flash the kernel and it has cwm inbuilt.
1. Just push the FXP cm10 zip for your device to sd card, flash the boot.img,
2. boot in cwm,
3. backup,
4. wipe data/factory reset,
5. install zip from sd card,
6. (if you want install the google apps=gapps) :good:
Problem was with CWM ... once I installed a GB custom ROM, the recovery was flashed to 6.0 something automatically
Every single ROM I tried to install after has worked flawlessly.
I have an xperia Mini, and it just doesnt work though, so I'm opening another thread on the overheating issue (which doesnt get solved no matter what you do)
thanks

since you unlocked your BL, you know how to use fastboot commands and ADB
download custom rom and kernel
you can use pureness rom, Ultimate HD or any ics rom you like.
And for custom kernel there is MeSa, and lupus.. etc choose what you like
flash kernel via fastboot commands
1-shutdown your phone
2-Hold on volume up and connect usb from phone to pc
now you can see LED notification shines in blue
3-open cmd and navigate to fastboot folder
4- write:
fastboot devices
fastboot flash boot directorytokernel boot.img
replace with actual directory
5- wait until in finish
6-move rom to your SD card
7-enter recovery twrp or cwm
8-flash rom
HERE is a collection of roms, kernels...+++ etc

You SHOULD have updated the kernel according the instructions in the ROM-threads, which you failed to do. Now I guess you've flashed the x10blrelock.ftf? In that case, your phone needs a JTAG.

i have same prob my xperia x10 mini is not turning on after flashing x10blrelock.ftf kernel and by the way what is jtag
Flashing of x10blrelock.ftf happens too often now.
DEVs: please put a warning in all your install-instructions, when you mention to unlock bootloader, never to flash x10blrelock.ftf

Phone-repair shops have a JTAG-box that can restore the original firmware using special connections inside your phone. You'll have to pay for it to get your phone working again.
